The Guardian has always been criticized for the lack of a ranged DPS option. Scepter projectiles are so slow as to be ineffective at distances greater than just outside melee range. That being said, they seem to be playing up the support aspect of the Longbow. It may turn out to be another Staff rather than a fixed Scepter.

 

A ranged support class sounds interesting though. In PvP that might help the back line squishies, who right now have to pretty much fend for themselves.
