I'm heart broken.

This the epic writer of scores, two of which were moments in my life where I realized that film could lift me up to new places that could thrill me.

He wrote the score for Star Trek 2, Wrath of Khan, which was one of the FIRST ALBUMS IN VINYL, and I had ever bought, and which I played incessantly. Plus he scored Aliens, the second great movie in the series, which I adore, and revere as one of the best action movies of all time.

RIP, and condolences to his family.
He was was an important part of my life and his music's still with me

It's funny, cuz the end of Aliens, where Ripley says " Punch it Bishop!" for them to get away, that music running in the background is almost identical to the march theme prevalent Star trek Two wrath of Khan as well ... delighted me that I could recognize it as a kid!
