Changing mounts - is it possible to sell or swap mounts?

In short, is it possible to sell or swap mounts or are you condemned to forever roam in the same two you first acquire?

Have you tried? If you visit a horse trader or special mount dealer there's a sell button.

Yes I did actually try before asking, and I only did so because I couldn't find the selling option.

 

PS: So you need to be mounted to be able to sell the horse. OK then, found it.

It's way worse in sacred underworld. I dismounted out in the world and forgot my horse out there. I tried to call it and it wouldn't appear. Couldn't sell it or buy a new one. I had to restore to an earlier part of the game when I still had it and redo the progress I lost. What a pain.
