Recommended Posts

hi all, im new to this game on pc, I spent alot of time with it on console few yrs ago and am looking forward to the pc version for all the things I missed. I want to mod this before I start and alrdy have downloaded a few things, CM patch and the items update, enhanced spells and few others. I was wondering if there are any must have mods other than these and/or I will gladly accept any tips or suggestions, even install order info can be helpful. since getting a pc last year I have modded just about every game I have because I got into pc gaming for the mods mostly to begin with. well I think that's all I wanted to say/ask, thx in advance of any help and have good day all ;)

Welcome to DarkMatters! Mods do indeed breathe new life into the game.

My personal install order is:

undressed Mod 2016 would need to be installed last, followed by this patch: undressed Mod+Enhanced Spells+Elite Mounts patch, as I mentioned our PM's.

Wardust's Serious Textures 2.0 is another popular one, though some changes are unusual. It would need to be installed between Elite Mounts and Enhanced Spells. Ignore the compatibility patch for Wardust's mod that is packaged with Elite Mounts - it is for an outdated version. However, Wardust's mod is not compatible with undressed Mod 2016.

thx, I have this list except for the fog one, would I need to un/reinstall everything from top again or just uninstall the last mods until I get to place I can install fog and continue on? or can I just install it and unactivate the mods and then reactivate in correct order? not sure, im guessing I could do it the first way, thx in advance. I hope that all made sense, lol

Luckily Reduced Fog and Music Mod can be installed in literally any order, before everything, after everything, doesn't matter. They conflict with no other mods whatsoever.

The one exception is Diablo 2 Fallen, which is a huge mega-mod that overhauls the whole game so it's not compatible with anything else, but rather includes custom versions of most of these other mods built-in. It's a mod for when you want something completely different.

But generally, yes, you would deactivate mods in reverse order from how you installed them. The Mod Enabler actually forces you to do so in the cases where two mods change the same files, which is a good thing.
