Welcome to the forum...

I am not from a big city with civilized table manners. We barbarians from the dark woods prefer another gaming food: 'Dörrbirnen'. 'Gute Luise/Good Louise sort of Williams' pears slowly dried as halves. We have the trees, we have our famous staircase oven, so the dried fruits or fruit chips are free of costs if you don't count the work.

We build such a 'Grundofen' into our staircase with openings to dry fruit, fish, ...

Too classy of a food for gaming..... My personal favorite gaming snack: pretzels. Now, we're not talking calories here, just convenience. Pretzels leave no residue on my fingers. I guess the salt could get in keyboard, but I personally haven't had that happen. And pretzels go with Everything. As far as class, I have seen pretzels served Everywhere, from a hole-in-the-walls bar to a four star, suit and tie restaurant. In fact, that gave me quite a chuckle once, I was thinking "Now I've seen it all, a restaurant that's ritzy enough to have a valet has bowls of just regular Snyder of Hanover pretzels!" We're not talking about just in the bar area, either, they were at tables, being offered alongside this fancy type of dipping sauce that I couldn't quite identify. It was kind of like cheese, but had like a hint of lime and...some type of flower. Whatever it was, it was just the right consistency; not so thin that it dripped off your pretzel and not quite thick enough to knock the salt off the pretzel. Now, you might think "you're in a fancy place with imported marble on the wall, valet, the whole shebang, and what catches you attention is the friggin pretzel sauce?!?!" That's Gilberticus for ya :)

^ Pretzels are a great idea Gilberticus, as cheese puffs stick to ones fingers and hence the keyboard.

u hit it on the head re residue on the fingers. This has made for some very often "spring" cleanings for my key boards. I keep telling myself that I'll only eat in another room...but it's so intoxicating to eat while "plugged in"

:4rofl:
