Popular Post chattius 2,522
expensive clock -> christmas pyramide When I was very young and my grandgrandpa very old (which surprise) he was teaching me carving. With much fantasy you could see that that I was carving was a dog ;) He was a working with wood for all his life. Carpentry, wood carving, plane building (when they were from wood and linnen), ... In winter months he was carving christmas pyramides. One of his still survived in a museum and the propeller driven by 12 candles. We carved our own 5 years back, were 3 rainy weekends with whole family. 4 Floors, ... my grandgrandpa did 6 and it was 2 metres in height and much more complex. Ours is more like this. 1 1 Link to comment
Delta! 985
christmas pyramide -> Fascinating We don't have anything like that in South Africa... our Christmases are in Summer, so we will be wearing shorts, and t-shirts, swimming, have a buffet style meal with gammon, ox tongue, lots of cold salads, watermelon that was floating in the pool the whole morning and gets cut for dessert, maybe some jelly, custard and ice cream for dessert, or maybe if my one aunt felt like it, she would've made her amazing Milktart... Also, Christmas trees where not always a thing... only because we saw them in American movies that we as kids wanted one... Link to comment
