Sacred 2 Collector's edition US and Expansion UK disc verions install in Windows 10

Good day all

I attempted over night to make Sacred 2 collectors edition and windows 10 get along.

I successfully got to the title screen after hours of trying methods activated it no issues.

But I haven't even put a patch or the expansion in and I have weird no text error till I click the bottom button which is clearly an exit button to find text there saying no lock id or something.

Please tell me someone out there like me figured this out? I had this all working in win 7 from a old site with instructions that I can no longer find and everywhere I look is the fix for the uk gold version switch en to uk but mines US en and win 10 has no text.msi to even modify. My head hurts from all the googling I did the past 5 to 6 hours. I want my elite option which don't work so good with gold from all I've read. I have a gtx 970 my lappy is an nvs 3100 256 mb that won't do this game and my other strong desktop has only a 512 mb gpu elite pushes around 700 mb so this is my only option, yes I could dual boot a win 7 drive and play there maybe but I do not have another drive I can win 7 at the moment. I'll take all the help I can get. Thank you I'm sleep hope to see a reply asap thank you.

 

Oh and since this is also my online streaming pc for ffVII modded a format or wipe idea of any kind will not do. Most I'm willing to do is reinstall a 3rd time before I decide clearly there has to be a way. just no idea what.

and there were no issues installing the elite disc but still no text at title screen buttons again please help thanks again

ok after much I finally got sacred 2 with elite textures in my thinkpad looks ok at low settings now if only I could get en_US unlocked and changed to en_UK. then I know I could get my blood and ICE uk version to install. its bugging the heck out of me why I can't figure this out. Found speechhq.zip when installed to win 7 was ok win 10 says its missing that so I might just see if I can fix it. but for now I'm left lost and confused and really tired of fighting with it.. This was doable before I just can't figure out the how.

If you have $10 to burn you can occasionally pick up Sacred 2 Gold on sale at GOG or Steam. The elite textures are free. They don't work any worse with Gold version, just exacerbate a memory leak problem that's always been there.

Glad seeing you here on the boards, and springing for the Collector's edition too... a fan! You'll fit right in

I remember when the textures was having problems...its code not being able to weather the dif new platforms and windows...I think Flix's idea is pretty good , you can pick up sacred 2 Gold pretty cheap and this could get you closer to your beautiful image of Sacred Game Playing.

Well omg what a battle but I pressed myself so hard. I refuse to just accept my games as relics and reminders of the past. After and insane amount of googling I figured out everything. Win 10 64 bit sacred collectors edition US with sacred ice and blood disc secrurom nightmare thankfully I had a spare pc. Elite textures are in now. Gonna bench it for awhile and I have 1 question left on my mind. Is there anyway on US or UK servers I can play this with others? Does the community patch do this or because of my current setup am I doomed stuck in single player mode without gold edition? I honestly never thought I'd see this again.

Servers got taken down years ago. You can choose a LAN game and use clients like Tunngle or Hamachi to connect with others, but you'd probably need someone specifically in mind to play with.

^{ok seems something text wise at the one character from expansion it missing text says its should be correctly aligned I'm using version 2.64 uk it works but can't go all out fullscreen the game can't exit then for some reason. wow no wonder gold was done 1 wrong move and its a frozen app.looking at my gpu meter I it 75% usage at those crashes. Moving around on elite graphics seems to lag super bad due to the memory leak I've read so much about. More tinkering to play with. I cannot locate the patch 2.65.1 stuck on 2.64 guess thats the end of line for me.}

ok so there is no issues with pyhsx off elite off aa off everything else very high but 1 tiny issue which was fixable back in the day. the semi cut scenes have no subtitles the loading screen has no words or progress bar not sure there was one but I do recall text subtitles before, applied 4gb patch and nocpubinding seems nice on my 42"

ahh all 6 characters work but the tattooed guy will not start a game button is dimmed out why anyone know?
when selected it states

"This is a test tooltip...this line should be aligned right.

AlignHValue=Center/> this line should be centered"

is this error fixable and is this why I can't start a new game with tattoo man?

I figured out Tattoo man needs a name then Start will light up I started 1 file each character. I beat this game once but had no idea I done almost every single side quest I could find I galloped all over to see if I could find anymore I even tried wiping out everything in the map on one go but found I couldn't because they respawn. so yeah I failed a few quests but would say I done 90% of this game back in the day when I first bought it I was no where near few years later I got the expansion online and loved digging everywhere in it. I'll buy gold if there is some sort of conversion that fixes the elite bugs but right now as I see it my setup is good enough on win 7 but not 10. I will post after a 5 hour run my results
