Hmm, I've reinstalled the patch again, and now the chars in question do close in to melee range in sword-right staff-left configuration. The invisible hits up to two screens no longer occur. Guess - fightdistance changes. It's either typification.txt, or spells.txt that was not a correct one in my previous experiments. Well then, the exploit part of the bug is effectively non present as are my objections to the current mechanics.
