Sig (comments) request

Not so much a sig request as per se, as I did that much myself last night when I should have been sleeping. Started from scratch with a black background. I just need comments and constructive crticisms to bring it up to scratch.

 

 

The only save I have left as a photoshop file has the background (stars etc.) flattened onto one layer, with the planet on a seperate layer and no text. Personally I'm not too sure about the planet or the juxtaposition of the "Undone" and "TLA"...

 

And, eh, no prizes for guessing what tutorial I used for the planet

I like the image (background stars, planet) but the lettering does nothing for me. I would be inclined to:

 

A) Use a less-rounded, non-script font, perhaps something Gothic, like Copperplate Gothic or Franklin Gothic?

B) Move Undone & TLA up and to the right, so that they are framed by the three star burst, rather than having the starbursts coming through behind them.

C) Make Uni 9 slightly smaller and on one line, and place it down in the lower-right corner.

Done. I'm going to put something just to the bottom right of the planet to fill that little gap there when I get time then I'll post it back up here.

I'm going to have to agree with him. The background works, but the writing is kinda st. valnetines dayish

You need something harder, technoish and colder maybe.

Also work with the placement of the writing. Off Centre can be very nice if done well. And that font, lol...got any others?

By any chance you can add an animated object or two? Say an Ogame ship. I think that would be a wonderful touch.

The font is changed. Don't blame me for the old one, it was 2am!

 

Animated objects would probably make the file size too big for use on the ogame forums. An ogame ship would be good to fill the space next to the planet though.

hmmm, is that yer final choice for font?

I guess this is a matter of personal opinion.

I just don't think I'm crazy for that font...kinda looks

Nah I'm using a copperplate gothic bold crisp now. I keep having to force myself not to go back to this sig unitl I've finished all this studying for tomorrow's politics engineering exam. The finished sig will be up by the end of the night though.

Ooooo, yeah, much better!

 

Two final thoughts. I would be inclined to make Uni 9 a little smaller, and if possible, move the little satellite down and to the left a little so that it isnot totally boundried by the planet. But I think it looks quite good.

That's a very nice result !

 

I like getting space pics from Hubble... I wonder if gogo knows that NGC 1999 is used as the background of the sig he's using...
