Sacred Guide: Tactics for SB

Recommended Posts

legal stuff, all Info came from my head and my head alone unless otherwise stated (I think, feel free to demand money from me if you see fraud xD)

Note

It is overall better to do these tricks on private servers, since others will not kow when you are AFK not killing the enemies, so they might "help" you get rid of tham, blowing your plan to smithereens with having a nice attitude. If you are a higher level and a very low level vomes to the monsters near you, the monsters will be higher levels than they are supposed to be for the other lower leveled character, thus endangering others. Try to prevent this by going to a Private server. (Info provided by trd)

Ways how to increase Survivale bonus:

Tha AFK tricks

#1 the "Click thing and go afk"

Very simple, you attract a mob of whatever level and lure it to a clickable object, Signposts and Sundials are tested to work, but others will likely work. Since, when you click on the pole and get the messgae DO NOT press "OK" but stand there watching the mob attack you without yourself getting damaged, this is a tactic used frequently by some players and easy to use.

Provided by Obsession

#2 the "Yawn you're a noob"

Also really easy and definately safe if you're high enough level. You go to the lowest level enemy and stand next to it, it won't do any damage to you but you WILL be in combat mmode all the time. Again, user-friendly.

#3 the "Oh look at the view"

Again, a pieace of cake and safe enough if you know the right distance (untested to where you can stand best). Get yourself a bow and stand on the bridge in Bellvue near the three thieves in the beginning, do keep your distance when low level, they may attack you if you're not high enough and if you are AFK then you are going to lose (HC only) your character!

Provided by Llama

IMPORTANT NOTE:

You can go AFK for a max of 14 minutes, then you get a WARNING that you have to move your character within 60 seconds. you have to literally move your character aka make it walk, just moving your mouse doesn't count. So, grab a stopwatch or keep an eye out for the clock and manage when you have to go to your PC to move your character. (this was tested and confirmed by myself).

Other SB tricks that aren't that boring :4rofl:

#4 the "my hands are shaking but I still pwn you!"

Go to the "Goblin Lawn" (between Silver Creek and Porto Vallum) and gather as much shamans around you as you can. The shamans will follow you and spawn other goblins you can kill, DO NOT kill the Shamans as then they will stop spawning other goblin warriors (dóh). The spawns are very easy to kill (no weaponry or armor). This way you will be in combat all the time but you will not be bored and don't have to go AFK, but you will gain a little experience.

TIP: (Info provided by Schot)

It is very adviseable to get some %Split on your gear for this one that would work out very well.

More tricks coming as we progress.

And there is also this old trick that works as they haven't fixed it: Jump to porto vallum, find some orcs that starts to attack you, read the sign and then just wait. You stay in combat and get more whitout taking any damage SB, but it's everybodys choice will you do so or collect it in a fair way

Yes, but those all aren't giving any XP, I posted my thing (if someone else did not do it yet, I don't know) because there is also A matter to gain good XP from it. agree/Disagree?

Well yes, you get experience, but I wouldn't say a good Xp as that area has really low level caps on foes, so you can only gain few levels by doing so. After a while you would only gain 1exp per kill so it would be totaly waste of time if thinking it as leveling and gaining SB at the same time.

.. Obsession, he is right :4rofl: but it is more usefull IMO, and if you have nothing to do there are always ways to increase SB by going AFK in combat with a very very low enemy (a single one)

*goes to work on his seraphim homework*

Oh I like this idea you have Sylph. So you have many shamans around you and you only kill the goblins they spawn, never killing the shamans? Do I have it right? Have you tried using split with this idea? That could work very very well I think. Lots of experience. :P

Oh and I've been wondering about those techniques that Llama and Obsession talked about. Will the server eventually kick you off server with these techniques? Is it necessary to move your character once in a while? I've not tried this particular version of raising SB yet. Though maybe I should. Might be easier.

Cheers gang. :(

I never had the amount of split higher than 4% :P so I can't test that out srry, I don't the "connections" you guys have :(

Well it takes some time before server does so, but they added that time limit in some version of UW. So if character is unactive for some time (dunno how long that is) you are kicked from the sever). Would it be somewhere near 10min or so? Llama have you ever tested how long the time is?

4/5 mins is the time I think.. I'll test it (I got this really cool stopwatch I got free from my gym teacher at school, said "make use of it during your sports" so let's test it out ^^

Hey Jasper

Your title for this thread is a good one, I think that all your data here would keep the info pretty organized for other peeps looking to dig up great info on sb increases.

Looking forward to the times!

I've edited it so that it looks more user friendly and added some ideas. hopefully it's not that bad for my first "guide" I'm used to writing stories more.

Feedback anyone? please do, Pm me or post it here for anyone to see.

Thanks in advance,

Sylph

been off hc a while, but wanted to bring this to attention.

a suggestion to be kind to others is to do this sb boosting on a private server. if one does it on a public one at say porto, others can port in or come running up into the mayhem and not expect such. although the characters are young, it is not polite to endanger them unduly.

Holy Hannah!? I'm sure I posted here already!

You get kicked a bit before 15 mins inactivity. 10 mins is certainly ok.

it is as I say, I timed it with a stopwatch you know :bye: it's 14 mins> warning>15mins>kick

Great guide!

Good format, the actual time on inactivity is useful, and I love your commentary on all the strategies. The tongue in cheek style makes it very user friendly. Nice work here Jasper.

Is there a chance other in-game elements could affect automatic kick times? Perhaps this is why llama said it could be a different time? Maybe kick-off times could vary depending on what else is happening in the server as well? Youve put something together here with some good reference value, so I'm moving it into our guides section.

Good work.

:bye:

Another AFK strategy is that you go across the bridge in bellevue and go into that house that is the the east of the thieves (without killing the theives) and then you close the door behind you while they stand outside. Enemies aren't able to open doors and therefore you stand there in very close quarters only seperated by a wall and gain SB. This method is extremely safe and I used it once to get up to about 80 SB. Sometimes it can be a little tricky setting it up but once you're in the house and they are outside and you shut the door you are golden :BlobRed:

Also have to add this one too..

Click to shop at any merchant, but don't wait until the shop window opens.. just start to run whit your toon so when the shop window opens, you can then keep moving as long as you keep your mouse button down and monsters can't hurt you when you trade.

Good way to collect SB or go thru area where you can't handle yourself or collcecting mobs to kill.

I forgot about this evil trick. Btw, can you still sell items when you are running around with that window? If so this could be the ultimate gold finding trick as well. :ike:

Yeah, the merchant will sell you anything he gots amd you can sell what ever you got. But it's hard to do as if you stop to do so, you can't start moving again whitout closing that trading screen.

There is also a spot by the cave in Bellevue that you rescue the Seraphim from. If you gather a wolf or the thief and stand as close to inside the cave as you can without going in you won't get hit. I haven't tried in any other caves but this is how I use to do it with my low level characters...
