Ike 1
Continued from here . . . Unfortunately, TERMINATOR's fleet was only ~3:20:00 from returning, and in order to hit it, Beowulf would not be able to use his destroyers, which would seriously reduce his profits. Plus, the deuterium costs would skyrocket, and recs would be a problem. So we decided to wait and see what TERMINATOR did. Sure enough, he sent his fleet at 100% to his G2 moon -- 24 hours away. I phalanxed his fleet and Beowulf deployed a colony and his own fleet to TERMINATOR's G2 SS. I got a few MM deuterium from GoGoBlender (Thanks GoGo -- I couldn't have made all of these hits without the ~7 MM deuterium you traded to me!) and parked it on my phalanx moon and watched TERMINATOR's Main for activity. TERMINATOR came online just before launch, but it was only a 37 minute window. So I refreshed the phalanx every 1-2 seconds for the first 10 minutes and then slowed down to every 2.5 seconds and then as long as 5 seconds, assuming that TERMINATOR would guess what we were up to and wait as long as possible. Well, he recalled with 25 minutes remaining and we calculated the approximate return time. I still managed to burn through 2 MM deuterium. As soon as I destroyed TERMINATOR's moon I started to IPM his return planet. It started with: Defense Rocket Launcher 6177 Light Laser 1658 Gauss Cannon 1 Plasma Turret 17 Anti-Ballistic Missiles 32 I flattened this with a couple of attacks and ~125-150 IPMs by the time TERMINATOR came online ~3:45:00 before his fleet returned. He managed to rebuild 92 RL, but they were harmless. I phalanxed TERMINATOR after he came online and saw cruisers and some cargos rushing from all of his G1 planets. In addition, he started building recs. I took this as a good sign. He launched the recs with a minute or so remaining, rather than timing them, but he still managed to grab just under 2 MM metal from the 252 MM+ DF. I probed prior to the attack and TERMINATOR's fleet arrived between 4 and 9 seconds prior to the hit, so our timing was pretty good. My followups were timed 1-3 seconds behind the mass of Beowulf's mighty fleet, and they took no losses. Including fleet deut costs, IPMs, and deuterium for the phalanx, I came out up about 5-6 MM metal. Fortunately, I managed 5 HoF's in the week or so that I have had my old account back, so there is another 20 MM in profits. Follow-ups The attacker has won the battle! He captured 4,544,555 metal, 160 crystal, and 1,072,405 deuterium 2,272,280 metal, 82 crystal, and 536,200 deuterium 1,136,140 metal, 41 crystal, and 268,101 deuterium 568,070 metal, 21 crystal, and 134,050 deuterium 284,033 metal, 10 crystal, and 67,025 deuterium My Recs Your 2800 recyclers have a total cargo capacity of 56,000,000.
