This is under my newer (non-D.a.r.k.) account, so I am posting it here. It is also possibly not technically a HoF, as it was predominently defenses that killed the RIPs. But, as always, there is a story, and it is amusing. At least, I thought it was pretty amusing. :P

 

Back a few months ago I hit xburner's colonies for some quick profit. At the time, he was ranked 500+ ranks higher than me. He sent a note insinuating that we might have a problem. I replied that I didn't have any problems and farmed him a few more times. Lord Tiago then sent his fleet from another galaxy, and Nish HoFfed it. Well, xburner has a couple of RIP, well had, and he decided to do some defense/fleet bashing with them. The first time he attacked was when I was sending a moonshot to another galaxy. He timed the RIPs to hit the moonshot's return, although, of course, there was none. I built up plasmas, but I SIMmed the wrong techs, so he took no losses. But, I figured I could get him to attack me again, so I plundered a couple of his colonies again, and sure enough, out came the RIPs.

 

Despite drago-sim telling me there was a 75% chance of lossing both RIPs and a 25% chance of only lossing 1 RIP, he lost none . . . :evil: so I attacked again, and built more plasmas (thanks to Beowulf for the extra deuterium!). This time, I finally got it right. In fact, he did not even probe me before sending the RIPs. :bow: and this after I built 6 plasmas between his probe and attack the last time. Well, some people just don't deserve to have RIPs. So Darwin's Law and I just have to take care of that. :)

 

I wish xburner a quick rebuild.
