I've been looking all over the net for a tutorial on turning my skin into some sort of metal. I've been experimenting with displacement maps, but have not gotten the results I wanted. There used to be a tutorial on turning a skull golden; I can't seem to find it.

After two hours trying, I just gave up and settled for the image that I am using as my avatar.

Have you tried the chrome filter of photoshop ?

This is a simple tutorial... just advises to ad a gold layer and mess w opacity... probably would work in combination with the chrome filter scleameth suggested.

I tried the chrome filter, I played with it for awhile, but was never really satisfied with the results. So, inspired by the results of one of my failures, I spent about two hours with photoshop until I came up with something. While not what I had intended, I am pleased with the results as it is somewhat disturbing to look at.

Now if I could only get it as my avatar. Been fighting with my controls for an hour and can't seem to do it.

Don't have much to offer in way of how to make yer pic better, Sil...but I did like the avy you were sporting the last little while.

I didn't really like that one. Still have it on the computer though.
