A Battle Mage

Heya

 

After I saw on of Schot's Videos I was kind shocked, as I saw a Hit with his Sword doing about 200k Damage (says my Memory, I hope I'm right)..? I though "A Melee Mage is so paradox, this can't be for real"

Well.. I just started one to test it out.

 

Wowie, quite a lot better than I thought, that Dude can be really funny

 

So well, now I'd like to introduce you my first little shy Try of a real Melee Mage, called Khanwulf X..

After he got bored in Zhurag-Nar and had enough Fun wit Fad's Axe and Thain's Axe, he decided to try some tougher Places.

 

First Station: Hell's Ridge.

Last time I tried to run in UW parts whit my melee mage, he ended up creating huge lag as haven't been able to boost my AR insane high level and somehow add some defence too as I'm taking too often damage. Also he has some split and open wounds so no wonder he causes lag... not as much as before they fixed OW, but still.

 

Overall my mage still kills faster even whitout slowdown RoI against elfs in zhugrad which gives about the same experience amount as hell's ridge atleast if there is only one player online. If I would have more time, pumped CoA + SS in a combo would make my mage a killer, but I dislike that they have same animation so you never know which one runs out.

Ah Therion!

 

A melee BM. Love it! It's still my all time most favorite way to play. And that is one Rocking BM you got there Therion. The Valley of Tears was a bit of a surprise for me. In two ways actually. Most of the VoT monsters are really easy to kill, the other surprise was... They really hurt! Haha. They hit very hard and they seem to have a high AR as well. My melee BM actually does very well there with one exception. Cerebropods, ugh! Being a melee BM means that you don't need to rely on your Combat Arts which is a great thing but those Cerebropods have such HIGH defence that it's hard for us melee BMs to land a hit on them.

If I may suggest, I think it would be a good idea to make a special combo to take care of those Pods. I have been meaning to do that for a long time now but I just haven't gotten around to it. A Gust of Wind Combo would be best I think. Or maybe a Meteor Combo...

 

200k Damage, yup! That would have likely been my WIDD BM of the Plus days. Ah, I miss them. It's a bit harder in UW to get the melee BM damage up but it is possible for sure. I just took my level 145 melee BM to Niob and took some damage pictures for you:

Schot's battle mage, when it first started making it's appearance in the international servers a few years ago, made even Rooster do a double take when he saw how much damage it was doing...more than the glad at that time!

 

And so therin lies the challenge of this game...taking what have been believe to be preconceived truths and then..exploding them!

 

Therion, that's one heckuva video you posted. Your usual quality stuff...and another true mind bender.
