Sacred Wiki - Latest Updates

Recommended Posts

Hmm.. Gonna have to go along with you on that. Makes little sense to have a page for something that is part of another. This Acadamy is clearly within the city limits of Orcish Byway...

BUT... Since when is Orcish Byway in CENTRAL Artamark? Last I checked it was on the BORDER with Nor Plat - in the Northwest corner of Artamark. Central Artamark would be say, ooh.. Black Oaks... Kufferath Castle, maybe... FIXED

And be on the lookout for spellink errors - Chainquest, Mainquest and Sidequest are not words... Please feel free to fix this when you see it. FIXED

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Arkenmark%27s_Refuge

This appears to be a cemetery - but the page has no grave inscriptions I have made a note to check in game on my user page when I eventually get to niobium unless someone else gets there first.

Er.. Appears to be a cemetery...? Of course it is. :D

WTH..? NO grave inscriptions? They should have been noted and logged.. Let me see.. Ah yes. There's a link at the bottom of the Arkenmark's Refuge page - Grave Inscriptions - It has another link to the Arkenmark's Refuge cemetery and has the complete list.

Well fiddlesticks. That sounds a real mess.

All the cemeteries in Tyr Lysia have their grave inscriptions on the page. Also what is this?

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Artamark%27s_Refuge

The link for the grave inscriptions is Arenmark -- the link on the places page is Arkenmark

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Arkenmark%27s_Refuge

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Arenmark%27s_Refuge_(Artamark%27s_Gate)

Someone needs to check what the actual name is and then gogo or schot is going to have to get the mess figured out-- this should not be spread out through 3 pages.

It's a really easy mistake to make. ArkenMark, Artamark - they're too close to each other as far as the name is concerned. And Arenmark - is just a bad misspelling of Arkenmark.

Should be fixed...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the contents of the mispelled page and the correctly spelled page need to be merged somehow.

As far as that chainquest v. chain quest type spelling -- Wasn't there a preference for the combined words at some point about 2 to 3 years ago? I don't remember the specifics on that so I could be wrong.

I think putting it in two words makes sense, might be a candidate for schot's new find all and fix candidate.

Artamark's Refuge has no info on it at all. Easy peasy.. Toast it.

Arenmark's Refuge - just needs to have the K put in - it can stay as the page dedicated to the grave inscriptions, I suppose. On the other hand, why not simply link the Easter Egg page with the grave inscriptions to the places page and be done with it? In that case, yes, the info should be moved. If we go this route, this page can go bye bye after the info is moved. Of course, if we go this route, we will likely need to do the same for the other cemeteries and graveyards as well.

Just realized after looking over that list... We'll have 2 pages with the same name - so.. we're going to need to rename one if we keep both.

Chainquest vs Chain quest... The Spelling Police in my browser constantly draw a red line under the former. So, yes, if Schot can do a global replace on the wiki and eliminate the chainquest and mainquest and sidequest and replace them then I'm down with that. Saves us from doing a lot of hunting.

I don't recall it being policy or preference or whatever - but its just bleeping wrong. In the mean time, if you happen across it - might as well fix it. You're already there.

I'll start keeping an eye out for it, it is on a lot of pages.

Artamark's Refuge - needs to be deleted and any page that lands you there needs to be fixed.

Arenmark's Refuge - needs to have the title fixed.

Artamark's Gate - can stand as it is.

Arkenmark's Refuge - can stand also.

Oh.. Gogo... This is a task for you...

heh, was away at my cousin's farm yesterday, and Schot came up to see the family as well, course this kept us off the sites all day, but we're back!

Wolfie, can you please link me to the page you want me to "move" /delete...and I'll move it into any page new page title you want....this is what you want me do do right?

Thanks guys for this delicious editing, I woke up this morning with lots of great work done, yum!

Right now, all the links are pointing to correct information. And if someone does a search, I'm convinced they'll find what they need, through wiki search.

So, I'm kind of thinking that we can keep the two pages, which has occurred for other "like" names in wiki, but we can have disambiguation in the title and as a small indented note that can be first thing players read when they happen up on one of the two pages, telling them also to go to " x link" if they want to:

Does code like this work for the disambiguation process as done on Wikkipaedia for the disambiguous word Sacred

Sacred
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
For other uses, see Sacred (disambiguation).
"Holy" and "Sanctity" redirect here. For other uses, see Holy (disambiguation) and Sanctity (disambiguation).

And here is the template from our own Wiki Special pages

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage

For example, if a player reaches grave inscriptions, but wanted to get to the page name, there should be a note directly underneath, as perhaps first content on page indicating that there is another page with blah blah blah content as well (disambiguation page)

A this point if you can link me to precise page you want renamed so that the disambiguation is more precise and clear tween the two pages, I can do it. I've gotten rid of the other page as you asked.

p.s. re global placing can you here two links to two pages that show this :)

Here are the links gogo. I'm sure I'll come accross 2 or more pages as I continue alphabetizing -- I should be able to post 2 of them later today for the spelling stuff.

Another page you should seriously consider deleting.

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Academy_of_Arcane_Science

The information on this page is covered on the

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Orcish_Byway

I think it's redundant and possibly inconsistent with how other places like this have been treated. I can't think of any examples off hand.

Hi everyone

WE're getting confused by all the posts going up in this topic, and we're finding it very difficult to verify names that are mentionned becuase links are not being given at the same time.

Per post if possible, when mentionning a page, you can use the Sacred 2 button to transform it into a link. This way when we're reffering to pages, we can verify if the way it is spelled in DarkMatters is actually the proper name of teh wiki page that needs changing or work.

Adding links to the page you are talking about with your explanation is good documentation, and helps me and Schot get to and verify what is actually being spoken about

thanks

This is a stub. I'm not familiar with this place so I can't filll it in just yet. I'm making a note on my user page to check this the next time I have a character in this area. I'll be quite happy if someone else gets to it before I do.

Is this a personal note to yourself on this topic?

This topic works great for contributor updates. Perhaps make a topic where you note things about the wiki that have to be done? This way contributor updates and your observations can remain separate, and this SacredWiki Updates topic doesn't get bogged down so quickly with notes.

alphabetized and added port information to transportation section

regarding Bottomless Lake I made that note because I hope that someone else gets to it before I do.

Bottomless lake - done.

And I'm sure you've probably been there - it's part of that long quest chain in the north east corner of Artamark - near Crag Rock called A New Hope.

Note: That whole quest chain will need to be tweaked - LOTS of non-3rd person formal stuff going on in there.
