Sacred Wiki - Latest Updates

Just read through this write up you just did on the Wiki, Wolfie... wow

Just reading about the baron's early ancestry like this... gave me chills. An exciting, potent connection to this game's roots... and this is made even more so exciting that this quest is not given by a person... but something you have to accidentally brush up again.

A Quest... as well as an Egg?

Beautiful!

:bounce:

Eh.. I don't know if I'd go so far as calling it an easter egg... The battle is pretty much right there, in the open and you can see it happening before you get too close to trigger the initial quest. It's a bit more obvious than say - the Ephraim's Nightmare quest which also starts when you arrive at his farm.

Seems to me that it's pretty much business as usual for the DeMoreDreck clan...

Egg in the sense that this quest also comes with a lot of history, not just the trigger

:)

I can see where you're coming from - but then again, you'd kinda expect to find some ancestral trace of the DeMordrecks in Ancaria. Family names and family lines don't just spring up out of nowhere very often - unless you're in Witness Protection.. :bounce:

And if you're going to include the DeMordrey clan's exploits, you may as well include Loromir - the friendly dragon from Sacred 1. He makes a brief appearance as part of the Seraphim's Class Quest, pointing our girl to her next destination in the quest chain. Then again, you'd kinda be expecting him to be around in some form or other given dragons are supposed to be immortal (relatively, anyhow)...

To me, an easter egg has to be something out of the way and off the wall - something unexpected - not so much elements that tie the two games together. Stuff like the car museum, the Alien, and so forth.

Ok Kids.. We've got a bit of a conundrum...

Most of you who have gone through the Bengaresh desert and did all the quests in the region would likely have seen it. It seems there are two quests, very close together, with the same general goal and worst of all, with the SAME title. There's the one where you have to escort a lost Ogre to Turbak's beach so he can hitch a ride home. And then there's the one near the entrance to the Garganthropod's lair featuring a young child who is lost to Turbak. Both are called "Lost" in the quest book.

Any bright ideas on how to handle the conflict..? Currently I left the Ogre one with the title of Lost and gave the little girl's quest the title of Lost 2...

Oh.. I also got a mug shot of Sheik Yerbouti to post along with the Zappa cover.

LOL... leave it to Sacred for this..again :bounce: I'll have a look at it now, and have Schot look at it as well, maybe we can come up with name strategy for this one.

They should have given the Sheik more fitting clothes for his mugshot...where's the robes!

Robes? You mean the white polyester leisure suit with the black shirt (ala Saturday Night Fever - after all, we ARE talking the dreaded disco era)... I think he had that sent to the cleaners. White polyester in the dirty desert... Not a good combination. Not much in damage mitigation either. Polyester tends to burn rather easily - and painfully.

As for the quest thing... The other instance of this duplicate quest naming, I can understand - the one which came with the original game and then there's the one that came in the Ice and Blood Expansion as part of the Dragon Mage quest. "Investigations" is such an inviting title..

But this? I'm thinking two people were working on pretty much the same quest and they both got included by mistake. Gotta blame Ascaron's

(in)famous quality control department. Not that it matters all that much to the game - just to those who are trying to document the quests for a wiki... Both happily coexist in the log book...

Our mighty Frame Master has come down to us and gifted our community with the presence of frames!

:)

Thanks Munera, that was awesome...I don't know how you get through the pages so fast, but when I woke up this morning, every thing was sparkling in the Easter Egg pages...all the pix within them, framed gloriously!

:P

They are excellent pix. I just checked Wiki though, and noone has done the quest walk through yet.Maybe if it's put together, they can use these pix...they're excellent.

I just love that Lonely Hippocampus, poor thing needs a buddy. When I first ran into her I was soooo excited, thought I was going to get a new mount. Sad day indeed. I still go around and visit her as often as I can.

Yeah.. I know what ya mean - kinda looks like the High Elf's ride. Maybe that WAS the model the Sacred Mount island people used to breed 'em?

I had heard that actually was connected to a model or mount... and something happened, and she/he ... it, ended up a lonely thing in the water. The entire quest could be related to a reference of what happened... a secret egg n fact.

OK.. Someone was looking for a location for round wooden tables that look like they've been sawed out of rather huge trees.

I found one again - it's located at Pointy Peak, north Artamark, east of Uthrak's Moxie - where you tell the soldiers there to hold their position.

Munera, just saw your addition to wiki for the reflection close combat:

Thanks

I am now following your lead, I'll try and pull some time out as well to add the other reflects in for the items they come in on the game.

Thanks for helping out again you!

There has been a lot of work going on wiki last few days. I'm runining off to work now, but I just wanted to (again!) thank everyone who is still contributing time, pix and writing for the database.

Wolfie with another two quests, knuckles who is just auto clicking pix of everything in Ancariara and giving us gorgeous geographical photo takes of our beloved world, and me who's stuck on making way too many write ups for item mods and links into every single piece of set armor in the game just lately (k, that was a secret whine, but it's over now :)).

It's beautiful to wake up and see recent changes and look at the cavalcade of edits...I'll keep working on the item modifier edits all day long while I'm working at work

Hey hey gogo! I saw you're working on set items. I think you want to add item modifiers to every set item, just like the unique and legendary ones, right? And you would like to add some set names to the availability section in modifiers as well, I guess. Well mate, that's tough work. I will help you when I have time (I still have some translations for the CM-patch pending) :)

Thank you for taking the initiative, I'll join you in no time at all :)

All the links are now blue in the Tyr-Lysia Places section. Still want to update/reformat a few pages but they're all up and running.

edit: I kinda sorta fibbed there. I forgot about the Human Slave Camp. Does anyone know exactly where this is. Don't see it on the map anywhere in Tyr-Lysia and can't remember where it could be.

Thank yooooooooooooooooooo . just about went nuts all day today. I can't believe how many item modifiers there are per armor piece... and why does Sacred 2 have to have so many sets per character anyway! :oooo:

Good thing is I got through the half way mark. And yeah, if you can help with availability that would really help. After this availabiblity can be added to attributes as well...I'd forgotten about that too

I've done some edits, I hope you guys don't mind!

I tried my best making this as easy on the eyes as I could (In this post), if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Seraphim CA Hallowed Restoration:

Mod(s):

Changed:

No longer heals 20 HP/s + 40 HP/s per CA level with the bronze recuperation mod. I do not know the exact number, but 20 + 10 is much more accurate (But still not dead-on)

Usage Strategies:

Changed:

No longer implies that the player is "indestructible" while this CA is up, as it's been balanced and counters have been added for mobs against it (Some bosses and champions have the ability to remove the regeneration buff)

Pro(s):

Changed:

"*When modded for Recuperation, allows for near invulnerable characters"

Into:

"*When modded with Recuperation, may void the necessity to use health potions"

Con(s):

Added:

"*Certain bosses and champions have the ability to remove the Recuperation buff effect"

Stats Chart:

Changed:

"*Duration (for '''Recuperation'''?) is 10 seconds."

Into:

"*Duration of all modded temporary effects is 10 seconds."

To better reflect that all three temporary effects (
Recuperation
,
Prevention
and
Antidote
) have a 10 second duration, not just
Recuperation
.

Seraphim CA Radiant Pillar:

Mods:

Changed:

Ordeal (Gold mod) calculation is incorrect, it is definitely not 25% + 0.5% per CA level, according to various in-game tests. I changed it to + 0.?%, for lack of knowledge. (I think it's better to let people know it's unknown rather than give them a false sense of knowledge, feel free to change of course)

Usage Strategies:

Changed:

Fixed a typo "Baneful Smile" into "Baneful Smite". However, a funny typo! (Pun intended)

Well that's it for now, nothing major at all, I'll stick to the "Walking a thousand miles begins with a single step" quote :sigh:

I believe that the values for the modifications were added by someone who read the values from the spells.txt file in the game installs folder, however they may since have changed and it wasn't known whether or not they were absolute values or were percentages or folued various formulas. Quite likely explaining why what you see is different to what is documented. I wonder if they are actual changes or the numbers are right but follow one of the various formulas used by the devs.

Edit: After a quick perusal the numbers in the file do seem to line up with the original values in the wiki...are you sure you aren't missing something? Either way, cant be hard to test, might need to dust of the blank level 200 seraphim....

So a level 150.0 (Exactly) Radiant pillar modded with Ordeal will always do double damage then? Or did I just interpret it wrong? If this is a fact, it may be one of the most powerful of all offensive Combat Arts, it would then just be a (very) late bloomer. Double damage + criticals would definitely add up a lot!

If you're interested in testing it, go ahead. I'll make sure I do test it in somewhere between now and 24 hours (Depending on how addicted I am to Sacred 2).

CA level 150 is not nearly as easy as it may seem. even with focus at mastery and +120 all skills. the 200 rune limit on my level 158 seraphim will only get me to a 132 CA. so I think level 150 is possible, but only at end game. Even with double hits of AW doing 124K damage each(boosted by BFG mods and rev tech lore). level 190 champs still take 2 shots sometimes. I can't imagine Pillar at that level yet, but it would be something to strive for if I could get it to a high threshold. especially since deathblow no longer works with spells as it did in 2.40
