Sacred 2 – Fallen Angel: Musical Support by Blind Guardian

Recommended Posts

On the 5th of November 2007 Ascaron announced another great step forward for Sacred 2 by announcing their collaboration with one of the leading power metal bands, Blind Guardian. The band will contribute to the game's soundtrack and will record a song to be released as a single the next year. The single will have its own videoclip featuring sequences from the game itself and the game will contain an unlockable video bonus of the band performing the song live.

So that being said, metalheads and non-metalheads alike are sure to be blown away by the music that Ascaron and Blind Guardian have in store for us, so look forward to it.

"And the Sacred world of Ancaria will also tremble with the band's rocking tunes. By solving a quest in the game, players can unlock a bonus event, in which the motion-captured Blind Guardians perform their new song "live"."

Brilliant

This is Ascaron at the top of their game...ALWAYS looking to find that real human edge that connects them to the fans. I'm glad to see they're still thinking outside the box.

Can't wait!

Interview with Blind Guardian

It’s in German, so I dont understand a word of it, but I suppose they discuss the band’s role in Sacred2. Also includes parts of the new song that’ll be featured int he game – I think :)

Interview begins in the second half of the video, its mostly wow stuff before that

Apparently they are featured in a quest in which the player will have to guide them somewhere so that they can play the live performance which you will hear/watch in sacred 2.

It is a new exclusive song that was made for the game.

Ascaron came into contact with the band because the people at Ascaron know them well so that is why the band was called by a manager at Ascaron.

The 2 guys say that they are very happy to have been given this change.

They also say that they are hardcore pc gamers that are part of a few guilds and that even besides having a family and the band they still find the time to play games.

And in the rest of the conversation they talk about which games they are currently playing and what kind of guilds they are part of.

Great find

Do you think they're actually going to have music with lyrics in it?

hmmm...has this ever been done before for a video game?

Just hearing the track got me thinking about this... I've myself have never heard songs with words in it during a video game, but, I think it could really change the whole impact...

Another first for Sacred here?

:3lmao:

Dont think its gonna be some background music material. The vocals would be too distracting and Blind Guardian’s music is far from being ambient anyway. My guess would be that it’ll be used only for the quest with the band and maybe during opening videos and/or credits

edit:

Nevermind, there’s gonna be only one song. And it means no new BG single either :4rofl:

But found a short video of motion capture in progress. And weeeeeeee its in Budapest. zomg hey are here :P
