Bans for Disabling IP Check without authorization

I noticed this in the Forum rules about a week ago:

 

IX. IP Check

 

Disabling IP Check on any account is not allowed unless a prior written authorization is given by your GameOperator by opening a ticket or through IRC.

 

NOTE: Permission will only be granted to Players whose Internet connection does not allow them to login at all, or that causes constant disconections every few minutes.

 

I had disabled IP check because I kept getting logged off, although it only happened from time-to-time, it would occur repeatedly when it did. So I unchecked that box and didn't have any problems and forgot about it. Then I noticed someone I was planning to hit was Banned, and they had just come out of (v) mode that morning, so I checked and . . .

Yep.

 

We knew about this a while ago... so no PAWNZ or NN. But there are a few Psycho and Jin Roh. Hopefully they will be back in action ASAP! ^^

Mine's clicked off, but the really weird thing is that for the last few weeks I kept getting a message from a GO telling me to keep checking that thread on the OOF...I kept wondering if my setting was in the wrong position, always had a mini-freak out and then a few days later...I get the message again. I'm hoping that this message was just something they were sending out automatically.

Also, did you guys see the new system on scripting and bot-using bans?

I like the idea of them auto-picking up scripting and bots, but the second and innocent gets done the system FAILS! Which it seems it may have already from reading the OOF

My personal thoughts... I think I like the new system much better then the old. I know alot of GO's and this takes pressure off them.
