Weekend was brutal.....Boston got to -9°F yesterday...right now at 0°F but at least the winds have died down...record lows were broken all over the place this weekend...which makes Tuesday hard to believe...

Highs in the mid 50's and rain...not that I'm complaining :D

@ gogo...actually don't have any heated gloves...just heated boots....and nobody getting them from me

The temperature swings this winter have been crazy....still below freezing right now but warmed up to 22F and snowing.....still hard to believe highs will be in 50's tomorrow...

I don't know the exact temperature the past few days, but it has been hot during the day, with full blast sunshine, and then it becomes extremely windy at night, some young trees got blown over next to the road on the way to work.

Hope we will have a cold winter

I'm hoping our winter is over lol

I know you do wall ball in the summer, are there any outdoor winter sports accesible for you? We have mountain right near us, snow shoeing and skiing is a way to cut through the winter doldrums... course getting out there in cold weather is always the big up hill challenge

:4rofl:

Not on long island. No. Unfortunately. I don't mind going out in the cold to snow board or ski but I'd rather save that vacation time for tropical destinations or casinos. I like poker. A lot. So I get by playing POE or with my shows on tv until spring weather and vacation time.

I should also be at the gym but I can't motivate anyone to partner up. Wish someone here lived near by lol

Buddy of mine at work, said him and his wife, just this last year, because they had to find something fitness for them to do took up jogging...they found a small group of them via net...this sounded awesome to me... apparently there's group associations on the net with a kajillion interests...Im thinking of seeing if there's something like that near me, either for trekking or jogging

Of all the stupid things I've done I honestly never thought to check for online groups near me. Lmao. Duh. I'm going to try that now

I love that map you put up... where you live is so exotic compared to where I am... does it even snow there ever? My brother just came back from New Orleans with his GF, never realized how far the southern areas of US were from Western Canada where he flew in from... I'm getting an appreciation for the difference in temperature now.

ahh, for some warm southern winds...

What a mess today... the entire landscape looks like a meteor site... pocked and riddled with icy craters that move and melt as slush mountains as you wade off and on sidewalks into gushing eddies of freezing water

this is thursday

My Boyfriend and I went away for an extended weekend. he currently works and lives in New York, but came to visit for 2 weeks. He flew back yesterday late.

We went to the west cost of South Africa(not very far up but we will do that another time) stayed in St Helena bay the first two nights, very nice quaint guest house, we ate out most of the time, and always enjoyed the food, the weather was great(for me), sunshine, a breeze to just cool you down and cool evenings to snuggle and cuddle up...

On Sunday we got drove to Paternoster (a famous South African seaside town) had a delicious lunch under the veranda of the restaurant on the beach. Sun was blazing, easily in the high 30's, but I never even sweated, once again the cold breeze cools you down.

We drove further along the west coast then, and spent two nights at a lodge with their own private beach. weather there was also great, mild, I actually started getting cold in the shade, and we both got a bit sunburnt, we played cards on the beach for a few hours. weather in Stellenbosch is sunshine and a slight breeze

Must be spring - when I came home from work my daughter laid hand in hand in the gras with her friend and watched cranes and wild geese returning.

  • 2 weeks later...

Been a really mild winter....hardly any snow...maybe 20-30 inches total (last year was 110"). Temps have been running way above normal all season except for one weekend where we broke all-time records for coldest day ever....go figure

So of course now that Spring is almost here, they are forecasting a Noreaster for Sun/Mon...possibly a foot of snow :P

Now that handball season looks like it's here I'm really hoping that storm is a false alarm. I'm so done with the cold.
