gogoblender 3,038
A lot of people have worked on this page on the wiki, and and for a while, the page was getting long and a bit unwieldy. Amble has once again stepped up to the bat, and tabled the entire page. yay! Schot then came in with some extra info, notably the write up on the plusses to Combat Arts which progress as you level in the game. Did you guys know that a niobium rune brought into a bronze level server will retain it's value? ^^ And to quote from the wiki: Benefits of Forging Runes An interesting ability that Runes offer is that they can be forged into equipment slots (sockets). Runes may be forged into three of the four different kinds of equipment slots. Bronze, Silver and Gold slots. Bronze slots do not modify the secondary effects of runes when forged but Silver and Gold Sockets do. Runes that are forged into Silver slots will have their secondary effect values increased by 7% and Gold slots by 15%. The primary effect, (+ to Combat Art level), will not be affected by Silver and Gold slot bonuses. Most interesting about runes which is different from Sacred 1 is that Rune values increase on a per game difficulty basis as you can see from the tables below. A rune found in a Bronze difficulty game will be much different from a rune found in a Niobium difficultly game. A way to take advantage of them would be for example to have a Niobium level character buy runes for a Silver level player. A Niobium bought rune will have the very best values possible and the Silver level player can take advantage of it by forging the rune into equipment. As indicated in each of the tables below, in order to be able to forge a Niobium rune a player must be at least level 50. For Platinum runes a player must be at least level 35 and for Gold runes level 20. Silver and Bronze runes do not have a level requirement. If at any time a player wants to see the difficulty that a rune came from they can hold down the ALT key while hovering over the rune. The difficulty will be displayed within the popup statistics box of the rune. The below tabled beneficial values from runes can only be received when the rune is forged into equipment. Rune Table Cheers! gogo We're still hoping to fill in the rest of the blank spots...they're crying out for attention and just need higher level values filled in. Link to comment

You might also want to check the level requirements on using (right-click) higher difficulty runes (may not be an issue) & actually equiping the item which has a Niobium (for example) rune forged in it. It's possible that the Gold-Niob runes change the level of the item (so a level 1 item with a Niobium item forged in it becomes level X). Link to comment
Schot 406
That's exactly it Llama. I tried forging the the runes into a level 1 weapon which showed me the level changes. Additionally, when a low level player views a high level rune in their backpack the stats box for the rune will be red. Just like the stats box of a weapon of which the level is too high for the player to be able to use. Though I didn't try right clicking the niob rune with my level 1 character. I just assumed it wouldn't work. now that you mention it I will check that, haha. thanx. Link to comment

Xodusness 1
Aaaah, nice Here I was thinking socketing runes was useless Link to comment

Which then makes Blacksmith skill valuable at higher playing levels. Link to comment
