How to level up Combat Arts?

Hello all,

 

I know this is a very noob question but I haven't been able to do a successful search of Sacred 2 forums to answer my question and I'm sure it's something simple. I've only been playing for about a day. My question is. How do you level up Combat Arts? Is it just a matter of reading more runes? What makes the green progress bar grow under each Aspect?

Yes runes in general.

Intelligence can boost them also.

Weapon damage can boost some of them also.

Skill combat discipline / ancient magic does the same

The green bar Bishop asked about is, I think, the progress toward getting a CA mod. Doesn't that depend upon how many skill points you put into the appropriate skills, I.e. adding skills to Cap Hunter focus makes progress toward modding the CH combat arts.

 

This is different than leveling the CA, which requires reading a rune, socketing a rune, or equipping gear with + to the CA.

 

And it is also different from merely increasing the damage done, which, as Spyrus mentioned, can be accomplished by increasing skills and/or attributes.
