  1. Just wanted to say cheers for all the hard work! I am still enjoying the base game, but I will give this epic mod a spin soon
  2. trust me, never had phys X enabled for either FA or I+B and, though I run FA on near-max graphics, whithout much issue..I+B I was on mid, no grass ect...I DID read all of the threads about how to get around crashes....and followed the advice, as I said in the orginal post I will try to install just FA off the Gold Ed., but not going to for awhile, right now I just wanna be in game without dealing with all the crashes..university is killing my game playing time this year
  3. Game crashes to desktop during character creation, and the few times I get through that stage and walk about with a new toon, game freezes up.. Basic motherboard soundcard I have installed it correctly and they were completely clean as well.. I have done this several times. Doesnt matter now..Sacred 2 back up and running like a dream maybe I have a bad Gold Ed disc..who knows
  4. I have tried every fix in the book, even the tricks found in the deepest, darkest corners these threads and man oh man, still getting tons of freezes, and I have Vista not Windows 7 My thoughts on this all point to Ice and Blood because I played standard Sacred 2(US) for a year without any abnormal issues, but now that I upgraded to the UK Gold Ed (v. 2.65.2), the game is unplayable. I hardly have time to play, but this week was free and clear to dig into Ice and Blood, so needless to say, I am not very happy. I am writting this because I think that some users may just not be able to play the Gold Ed. but may have luck with the standard version. I think it is worth buying if you are in the same situation as me. In fact, I have bought the game 4 times, thats how much I like it. I have the 2 PC versions and I have it for the Ps3 and the Xbox, even though some skills do not function on these. I am going to remove the Gold Ed. and go back to the older Sacred 2 and here is the tale of the tape: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.67 GHz 6 GB ram Vista 64 bit GeForce 9600 GT all drivers updated and tried all of the possible fixes listed in these threads(too many for me to list off the top of my head)
  5. Hey bondbug thanks for the elderflower recipe, I will give it a go but the best I think I can do is dried elderflowers. Also they will be from the American Elder sadly.
  6. I love the Socratic honesty of children. That was a very amusing story. I think that many vegetarians eat cheese without knowing about the possesses involved in the making, which is kind of funny really, especially if they are the critical type of vegetarians (those who think they are better than meat-eaters). It seems like most vegans are critical of anyone non-vegan. I am not in this category, I was raised as a vegan and have stuck with it. Yeah schnitzel seems complex. My wife's grandparents are from the Munich region, not sure where exactly but they are from the suburbs. They now live in San Francisco and swear nobody in the United States but them can make a proper Wiener schnitzel Homegrown produce, you sound lucky indeed. Someday I will get around to doing that myself. I ultimately see myself growing wine grapes and having several types of fruit trees in addition to basic vegetables. Not sure where I stand on genetically modified foods, I have read compelling reports from both sides, but it seems like we will not be able to feed everyone on the planet (not that we are doing that now) without them. Potato pancakes with applesauce, which I make for myself without eggs of course so they are more like grilled grated potatoes. This is another German dish I think and it goes great with Eiswein, one of my favorite wines.
  7. This is a very interesting thread. I am a budding hobbyist winemaker and am thinking about getting into home brewing as well, the equipment is not much different really so it would not be terribly expensive for me to cross over. However, my wife and I prefer wine to beer and all of its variants. Interestingly I am a life-long vegan, meaning I do not eat animal products of any type, no dairy, and no meat, though my wife is not a vegan and I do all of the cooking. So, I make basic grilled meats for her, usually with garlic and black pepper rubs. She loves schnitzel, but I have not been able to match her grandmother's even though I use the same recipe.. We plan to retire to Brittany around 2025 or so and we are looking forward to it. Excellent apples and honey in that region, I think the key to fantastic cooking is access to local ingredients, which is really a no-brainer. Getting local produce is very difficult in the United States, I moved to Georgia no to long ago, will be here for two years of my doctorate studies, but it is ridiculous that I can not buy Georgia peaches, even at farmers markets..they export them for the most part, though I hear small, rural areas have roadside stands and plan to search around for them. The grocery here has tomatoes from Israel, oranges from Brazil, Kiwi from Peru...I can not wrap my head around this.
  8. cool I will look into it, I worded it wrong, I selected blk smithing at 65, so no room for shopping- wanted both skills
  9. Well I have gotten to the point, slowly, where I think I need a shopper to support my main characters in Ice and Blood PC. I am kinda dreading it because I do not really like the characters who can select the skill, besides the Temple Guardian. Now unfortunately I made a dire mistake with my level 65 Temple Guardian, who was to be my shopper and I will have to scrap him, forgot to take blk smithing so he could not select bargain , yup I am an idiot Basicly, I am asking for opinions on fast leveling toons that could fill this vital role. I prefer Area of Effect, not a huge fan of directional Area of Effect, ie. most of the HE spells. I could do another Temple Guardian, but I think I would get bored because I leveled my other one up recently. It is going to be rough for me to level as it is for a few months because I just got Monster Hunter Tri and will be splitting my gameplay between the two games. Thanks guys.
  10. ok cool, got my single player characters over to the new game now, so better than nothing. Very cool thanks
  11. ok, thats what I figured. Just kind of painful to throw out my warchest that is packed to the gils with set items
  12. hello, Well I broke down and bought the full UK + ice and blood for the pc, and I got the ps3 US version just for fun. I am wondering if I can transfer my old PC characters somehow to the new install, or do I have to start fresh? thanks
  13. Makes much sense, I will grind out to level 65 or so and come back. Yes, toughness is a great idea for the final skill. Thanks guys, and nice guide in the link!
  14. ok so, I am at the end game on gold and am getting killed alot by the end bosses and by the reg mobs just trying to get to the boss room on respawn smashed through silver with very little problem 2900 general armor level 53 I am: armor lore @ level constitution haft weapon MC focus speed lore blk smith Enhanced Perception tactics @ level concentration the rest of the points are spread around at random so any advice? I switched to a shield and one handed axe, but I usually use a 2 handed and am still geting hit for 3800-4000 a hit at boss, dying faster than I can use pots
