  1. Don't know, MagiK was one of the X-men loong ago
  2. Reinstall and download the latest community Patch, worked for me.
  3. I correct myself, the Community Patch fixed my problem, it took some tinkering but you apply the CM patch and set the sacred executable to run as admin and I used Windows Vista compatibility mode and alll is well. Got the patch at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NHnU5igGLnWmRYNWdyRGg5MU0/view Note there were a couple of errors that popped up while applying the CM patch but the game still worked.
  4. Windows 10 is a good update however, to date I have not been able to get Sacred 2 Gold Edition to install or run properly from Steam.
  5. Just something I noticed, With more RAM (in my case 12GB) and more VRAM using 2 GPU's in SLI I seem to be able to game fine at 2560x1600 with Physx (or however you spell it) enabled, the increased memory seems to be the only difference between my system and a friends who cannot run Physxs without crashing every 5 minutes. of course I used the 4GB patch on the two executables per instructions I found on the site hre.
  6. Man, that's great news you've had such good results! I'm hoping this XP install will help with the crashes since everything else I tried, regardless of how much they helped, still isnt a perfect fix for my configuration. Normally I wouldn't put this much time into getting a game running but Sacred 2 is definitely worth the trouble. It's a great diversion until Torchlight II and Diablo III are released. Had my first crash today after about 65 hours of non-continuous play, my system had been up continuously and I was in and out of the game a lot. I think you were on the right track to solve the issues with Physx. This game looks really sweet at 2560x1600 I was used to playing it on older machines with much lower res. Anyway rebooted the system and everything was back to normal. And I agree this game and I think Oblivion are the only two games Ive ever considered putting this much time into.
  7. I followed the exact procedure you laid out. the differences are. Asus Rampage III Extreme CPU 980x @ 4.8GHZ 2xNvidia GTX580 in SLI 12GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator GT X-Fi Titanium PCI-e (same sound card) Win 7 ultimate 64bit Once I followed your directions and added the 4GB mod to the two exe's I have been gaming with Physixs enabled for several hours now. It is a nifty feature. Im guessing that perhaps having more VRAM and more System Memory might be the key here. Prior to following your directions with just a normal install I was crashing about every 5 minutes. Ill post back if I start getting crashes again.
  8. Well I resolved the problem but didnt find out where the resolution setting is stored...I copied in some of my old saved games on top of the new one I had started...this got me to the point I could set the options again.
  9. I was having problems with CTD every 5 or 10 minutes so thought I would try a lower resolution than what I was using (2560x1600) to see if that would clear it up, but somehow slipped and selected an oddball res that my monitor doesnt support and now the game keeps trying to use that resolution which ends up in a minimized game or a black screen if I expand I can hear the background sounds for the brief seconds the screen isnt minimized. my problem is WHERE is the resolution set? I cannot find the file that holds the value and I really do not want to have to wipe it all and lose my progress just to reset screen resolution. As a "I need to rant" comment...I have owned this game and the ice and blood expansion since it came out...I could never get the game to install the ice and blood till just recently and this product for as fun as the game play is...is WAAAAAAAY too persnickety to get installed, up and running. I used to have gold level players in the 100+ level range but just quit because of ice and blood issues....and now this. /rant Game info: Base game + ice and Blood + ice and Blood patch + community patch (game was working ok except for the CTD that happened periodically) PC Info 980x CPU @ 4.8GHZ 12GB CORSAIR RAM Dual GTX580 in SLI Intel 160GB SSD 600GB WD Raptor game install disk Any help would be most appreciated, other wise I have to just scrap the game completely. Ray
  10. Hmm I have multiple copies of Sacred II classic, and a down loaded version of Ice and Blood from Nexway when I run Ice and Blood install it tells me its the wrong language, though I have the ENglish verison of both Sacred II and Ice and Blood... maybe I can use the UK patch after I reinstall Sacred 2, but Im not holding my breath. Its amazing the fans have to work this hard to play the game. How can they stay in business? Really bummed.
  11. Well I tried the Xfire store, the purchase is done and the downloading is in progress.... I didnt see any mention of the key in the email I got, guess I'll just wait till tomorrow to see if it shows up. Thanks for the heads up Nomad!
  12. More and more this seems like a fly by night operation and not a professional business.
  13. Well this doesnt look promising...two weeks in a row now no new keys, no email enabling me to do a download from my "pre-order" that was supposed ot be an ORDER. I have two keys for Sacred II and 0 keys for ICE and Blood.... *sigh* this is really sucky marketing, and its no wonder the developer didn't fare so well. It is NEVER good to have customers wanting to buy and not having anything to sell to them. Very very disappointed.
  14. One thing to ALWAYS ALWAYS remember when running Vista or Win7 is to never install your games on the boot drive, where UAC is worst. It has been a major blessing for me to have been installing all my games, including many many older ones to a separate games drive. Im running the following: Vista 64 SP2 8GB Ram XFX 680i Mobo Intel Q6600 clocked to 3.2Ghz BFG GTX-285 video On board sound To date the only games I have a problem with is those DOS games that were designed to install in Win 95/98 Most DOS games and XP games run fine when tuned.
  15. Are there no English sites? Im old and don't cherish the thought of having to learn the tongue of my ancestors with these old dried up brain cells
