  1. Well, I got my DW Seraphim through Gold. That wasn't terrible, although those Guardians were hitting pretty hard. Started playing Platinum at level 56. Got to the Griff town or whatever it's called and things got pretty hard after that. I did make it to the first boss, but after attacking him and seeing his shields basically not drop from my attacks, I got out of there before he could down my DP shield and critical me to death. I'm back in Freeworld Gold to level up and find some gear. Currently level 63 farming Orc Cave. I will probably do this till at least 65, but probably 70, before going back to Platinum. We shall see how things go from there. Also, figured it's time for a buff suit, so I started making one and collecting pieces specifically for it. It seems like it really is helping so far. Let's see how it will do in Platinum once I go there again.
  2. Thanks guys for the response. Yea, I'm on console. I beat the guardians, flipped the switch, saw the movie and saw the credits. Then the game went into the main screen, I went to new campaign and didn't have platinum difficulty option. I guess I will go and beat them again. That's going to be a pain too, that last guardian hits hard. I don't know if level 56 is low in Gold difficulty, but that was a tough fight. Thanks everyone.
  3. I'm kinda confused about what Dragon Brother said. I'm level 56 and I just killed the Guardians in Gold. I tried to start a new campaign in Platinum, but couldn't. Didn't even have the option to. So I assumed that was because I had not hit level 60 yet, which I read you had to be. Dragon Brother's post seems to suggest that on console, there are no level restrictions, like there are on PC. Did I just mis-read what he wrote or is my game messed up somehow?
  4. Lol, this is pretty interesting. I will keep reading to see how you progress essjayehm. I won't have any guesses though, since I only ever played Seraphims, but still want to see how it goes. Also, I am doing my own HC playthrough, except I'm not going completely by the rules set forth here. I am using gear from other play-throughs. But other than that, I'm attempting to do this without dying and with out outside help. So far, I have a Dual Wielding Seraphim at level 51 in Gold. I'm just grinding levels at this time. Was doing Orc cave in Gold, but they started hitting really hard once I hit 50. Almost died numerous times now, so I'm getting worried, lol. I don't think I have the gear to sustain this, so I am thinking about switching to Silver to grind Orc's there until I get some better gear. I will probably continue the Gold quest once I'm level 60, but we shall see how I feel at that time. I am probably not doing a very conventional HC build. For example, I am not investing points into Vitality. I am keeping Constitution at current level, so that helps. But my survivability comes from 1. killing fast and 2. from DP, which does wonders. Now that I hit 50 and have 2 points to invest in attributes, I'm also putting points into Willpower so that the shield starts getting stronger. I'm also going to start pumping points into Warding Energy Lore soon, which is currently at level 1. HC is fun. Too many near death experiences though. Makes for some scary times. Glad I'm keeping Constitution at my current level, otherwise I would have died a few times already, lol.
  5. I was reading earlier in the thread that the egg was not killable or the items couldn't be picked up on the console version. Is this still true or has anyone found a way to accomplish killing and looting it?
  6. Ok, here's the problem with making any statistical conclusions about finding legendaries. Generally, the smaller the chance to drop of something, the larger the sample size needed in order to conclusively determine a drop rate. This sample size would need to be tens of thousands of players recording their frequency of legendaries after finding 20-30 of them, at least. Taking the average of this, we can determine what the actual drop rate of legendaries is. However, if you go from person to person in this sort of sample, individual results will vary wildly. Some people will be finding them every 200-300 kills, on average, and others may take longer. So many things must be taken into consideration with this: MF, SB, map revealed, etc. As far as whether or not the chance to find legendaries is hard coded? I highly, highly doubt it. That would be a very idiotic way of programming that. As seen from results posted earlier in this thread, it clearly is not anyways. I saw one list that had legendaries drop within 15 kills and within 700 kills. The number of kills absolutely has nothing to do with it. They probably did it in a very similar way to Diablo 2, where each monster has a treasure class (in Sacred 2's case, the tiers that they can drop from), and then each item has a specific chance to be rolled when the game decides what tier the monster will drop an item from. Obviously, I don't have any conclusive proof of this, but it is the most likely scenario based on my experiences of the many RPGs I've played that have random loot tables. I would have thought that this is exactly the case, or something similar. However, some people have said that EP does not affect legendary drop rates, as in, it doesn't factor in in calculating them. That's what I'm really curious about. Why would EP affect all other drop rates but not legendaries? If that conclusion was reached by simply not observing and observable difference in drop rates, then I don't think you can say EP doesn't affect it. But if there is another reason for this conclusion, like developer said so, or something, then I'm curious to know that. Still haven't picked my last skill for my built. Was planning on EP till I read this thread. Now I'm leaning towards it again, but again, would just like some kind of confirmation that it has not been confirmed that EP doesn't affect legendary drop rates.
  7. It does make a difference though if it is hardcoded or if it's not. If it's hardcoded, then it would suggest EP is useless in finding legendaries. If it is not, the EP might assist with that. It might be difficult to measure, since as someone pointed out already, 100% increase in a .001 chance to find a legendary only increases the chance to .002 (did I do correct math? I suck at math!). But even if the benefit EP provides is small, it still may be worth taking the skill. So I guess what I'm asking is whether we can say with any certainty whether EP is useless in legendary item hunting?
  8. The humor is quite unique. I play a lot of different RPG style games on the ps3 and this is the only one which has made my wife laugh just from listening to the game in the background. I think her favorite was when my seraphim said "you were made for two things: to fight and die. Now die." Lol. Speaking of Sacred 3, I know there has been talks about it, but have they actually started making the game?
  9. So it sounds like most of you don't play anymore, huh? I'm on ps3 so most of you probably never played on it anyways. Oh well, guess I'll be playing alone.... I'm so blown after reading this thread though. EP seems pretty much useless now. I find my share of uniques so I don't know if it's worth taking EP just for that. Luckily I'm not 65 yet, so it's not a wasted skill. But now I gotta figure out something else to take, hmmmm. Btw, is it possible to play HC on console? I haven't died yet (don't want to lose that 100% SB), so I'm kinda playing HC, but is there actually a mode?
  10. Gogo, thanks for the link. It was a good read! Why did that thread just stop all of a sudden? Anyways, that thread leaves one question. It seems that Guardians are the way to go (and Egg on non-consoles ). It seems that 400-500 kills are needed per legendary. Sooo, does that mean EP/MF doesn't matter? So should I not get the skill? If it doesn't help with legendary drop rates, what's the point?
  11. I love this game. I played it for a while, then took a break and just came back to it. It's so much fun. Yet, despite hours and hours of game time, I have found 0 legendaries Sooo, what does everyone else do to get these apparently extremely super duper rare items? I have a dual wield seraphim right now, still low level, but EP is the focus. Are bosses the best way to go, or are groups of mobs better (like orcs or swamp or somethings)? Also, whatever the answer, what bosses/groups are best for legendary farming?

    New Seraphim

Thanks essjayehm and everyone else for the help. I think I have my build now. Now, only two more questions remain :-p Sorry. What does everyone think about Warding Energy Lore? You think 1 point is enough or should I put more in? If so, what skill can I take those points from? Sword Weapons or Hafted Weapons? Which has better mods and/or which has the better weapons period? I feel like Officer's Saber is the best weapon, which Swords, but which also means I don't need Sword Weapons, since it doesn't have anything to unlock. So yea, just looking for opinions on this.

    New Seraphim

After reading some more on the forums and playing with my toon, I have decided to change the build up a bit. I still am not sure about everything though, so any advice or input is appreciated. 150-200: Tactics Lore 75-150: Exalted Warrior Focus 75-150: Armor Lore 75-150: Dual Wield 42: Revered Technology Focus 75: Constitution 1: Warding Energy Lore 75: Toughness X: X 200: Enhanced Perception So I took out Celestial Magic Focus and went with a straight Exalted Warrior Build, with Rev primarily for DP and Nova for utility. I also took out Concentration, since I only use one buff and I'm not too worried about regen times in later levels when I start getting RpH items, but that leaves me with one more slot. I can't decide what to take. If possible, I would like to find some kind of one point wonder skill, if one exists, that would help this build. Basically, I'm still focusing on survivability. I actually want to try and do something similar to what soldat said with damage mitigation, which is why I took toughness. I don't want to go past mastery with it though. Also, DP is basically there for mitigation purposes as well. Right now I only have 1 point invested in Warding Energy Lore, but I can put in more if people think it is good and will compliment toughness. So basically, what else should I take? Is something like riding useless? Maybe sword lore to unlock weapon mods, but is it really worth it? Also, how do dmg mitigation and DP work together? Is dmg mitigation applied first, and any dmg that goes through is then absorbed by DP or is it the other way around? Thanks.
  14. Couple questions regarding dual wielding and life leeching. 1. I hear there are two different types of life leech. Is that true? If so, what is the difference? Maybe I'm confused here and it has to do with runes v. weapons that come with the mod. Again, if that's the case, what's the difference? 2. With the above question in mind, can the lifeleech mod appear on a one handed sword or a hafted weapon? 3. Assuming it can, then do I need to take sword weapons or hafted weapons to be able to use the mod? Bear in mind, I will be dual wielding. 4. Finally, assuming I need sword weapons or hafted weapons, is it enough for me to leave it at level 1 and get the benefit of the mod or do I need to keep level it up as I get higher level weapons with the mod? Thanks all.
