Furian's Ice & Blood Guide To The Ultimate Warrior

Recommended Posts

Bravo with the build, and the tribute is a genius inspration.

I remember talking to you about this ingame about how it would be awesome if we finally had some tested ice and blood builds posted, and now you've gone and dinged the bell and put up a masterpiece.

With the coming of Ice and Blood and the super nerfs , no plus all skills rings, I think a lot of us were wondering where builds would go. Well, looking at what you've put together I get the feeling that the expansion has pulled out the best from us and gotten us to think of builds in ways that have made us more resourceful than ever.

I like the way you went down in order with masteries and the description of why Combat Arts and skill choices are used in your particular build is useful.

Strong work

:agreed:

Doh! Oh man I know how that feels... Ugh. Very nice build none the less Furian. This set up looks like he's good for some merciless bashing. Nicely laid out and described Furian. :D

Amazing! No stone unturned in this write-up.

These type of build guides are much needed here after the Ice and Blood update.

Thanks Furian, this is perfect!

added: Furian and I, well moslty Furian, farmed the Guardains with his build. I thought I saw his damage but apparently this is impossible? Either way, their life span was brought to a hault with this build in game. Instead of their life going down in small slices, massive amounts where being eaten up in 1 fell swoop.

Very impressive! :D

I was wondering the order that you took the skills in ? and why specifically Sword Weapons opposed too Dual wield and if you took Dual Wield as well with Sword Weapons which Skill would you drop ?

I'm starting a build based upon this tonight.

What exactly is the question for the

I was wondering the order that you took the skills in ?

I took sword weapons for the use of the 2-handed swords. Sorry I haven't gotten to that part yet. Actually I did until my mouse slide (ran away) off my table top and closed my browser. With two handed swords we get Life Leech %. that in higher difficulty is a boon. And against the Guardians is very sweet. There are many builds with Duel Wield already and yes this build would rock that too. But I initially started this build to test out the Blind Guardian two handed guitar weapons. When I played Xbox, I had a build that used the Guitar exclusively and I could make music with it not just bang away and get a discordant sound. It actually sounded like one of the bards in town jammin away on the guitar.

Anyway.....for this build and in Ice and Blood if I wanted to use duel wield and sword weapon I would drop Combat discipline. I want the combat reflex as this is evade. That means the enemy has a harder time hitting me. Yes I lose 10% regen time.... ok fine. I'll add some more RpH if I have to. And I lose a bit of damage. I don't think its an issue I'm one shot killin now on gold at level 56 and I haven't tryed upping my damage yet. Spell Resistance I won't drop. In Ice and Blood enemy spells are what can really hurt. And I just can't think of a good reason to drop damage lore after seeing the results that it can do after we get it mastered. Simply amazing really.

Thanks for response, sorry if not clear on what I was asking. The Skill Order ie Lvl2. Concentration, lvl5 Armor, level 8 ...... As it says in the order you would master but was wondering if the same order you took them in ?

Also you wouldn't just take Dual wield in place of Swords or is it important to unlock sword mastery bonus ?

Interesting build. I thought the lack of constitution was inovative! I can imagine this build doing heaps of damage... Just curious if you could run the 6 pts of the blood forest quest with this build on niob? How it fares against the LL eyes? For purposes of leveling up at higher levels (of course it could level on bosses either way). For that matter how did it fare against dragons/guardians?

You could replace Sword Weapon for Dual Wield. As Furian said he wanted to use 2-Handed swords for the LL% that is available and there are many with a sword weapon bonus that will scale with the Sword Weapon skill. A 2-H sword with 150% attack speed is quite impressive on a Shadow Warrior.

I'm not deviating from the build outlined and the question and answers have just helped myself get my head around the build :D

@Groosum, Yes, the order that the skills are listed is the order I took them at. If I had wanted to do duel wield I personnally word only take duel wield that would allow me to not be tethered to just one type of weapon. I would be able to use any 1 handed weapon in each hand. But this build hasn't been tested for that so I can only imagine how it would turn out, my guess is that it would still rock but you would more then likely be limited on your fighting style when you come up to the bosses/Guardians because of the LL%.

On my Sp HC variant I had no trouble with the eye balls or the dragon flies in the blood forest. Even did the Abashi ( think I was drinking Red Stag that night) :D . On the Current closed net build, Lt. Finn, on gold I just did the cursed forest quest with Loco watching over my shoulder and it was not an issue again. Using the combo of Belligerent Vault and Demonic Blow, I vault onto there heads and bashem. Dead one shot. Most of the LL from the eyes doesn't even contact. Worse case I have had so far was 4-5 eye balls surrounding me (we try not to let this happen at all - Battle Tactics) and my health dropped by 1/3 if that. And If I can keep my gear socketed as it is now I don't forsee any issues for the future but then again this is Ice and Blood and for each difficulty things do change. I'll keep you posted as I run levels on this guy and get up in difficulty.

On a side note just cuz I got bored. I think Loco and Etherian were on server, I buffed up in niobium at level 50 and went wolf hunting outside of Sloeford. Wolves were at level 111. And I slayed them very cleanly (with three peps on server). Had to run like a "Sally" when the brigands got involved but the wolves were fun. Don't try this at home kids its very detrimental to ones health :(

Thanks Max. I still have weapons use and CA to add into the build. And the when I got that done I need to throw a bit of pixy dust on it to make it secsy as Gogo says.

Vouche.

Loco was boosting the two of us. Furian was bored I remember. I was shoping. At the time I thought nothing of it...the Furian says, "hmmm level 111". I was like ok, continued to shop. He tele's back to start island. Successful!

This SW is a real tank! ;)

EDIT after the complete guide was updated: Furian, by far the best build guide I have found here! The amount of detail and explanation is incredible. I hope many more updated build guides come pooring in after this inspiration. The amount of attention to detail is exactly what some of us newer players need, primarly after the Ice and Blood update. 5 stars :)
