  1. might pop in there sometime, even though I don't play. Would be cool to talk to some of you guys no doubt. thx for the effort bud
  2. welcome to FDM btw =) Feel free to go and introduce yourself at the Introductions area
  3. That is how I got here. But I didn't register until someone told me what it was properly. I remember getting here this way, but I didn't have a clue as to what it was. I explained the situation ingame to someone, and they told me what it was. so I went right back and signed up
  4. I never really lurked much before my registration, a while after though I actually got here via wolfe's lair, not sure if anyone remembers that. Is it even still around? Used to be in her clan, when her site and pevil's place were about all you had to check items, builds and god knows what. I met someone in game who told me to register here. It was either schot or llama, but I can't remember for the life of me. but I actually never lurked prior to signing up ps Ike: Beat ya haha
  5. There is a great 360 community here at the FDM. I'm sure you'll get along just fine
  6. Maybe take a look at "Indy's anime Thread" in the stickies. Other then that I'd say it depends on 'what kind' of anime you like. If you wanna stay in the overall bleach experience, maybe try Kenshin (or Samurai X if dubbed). A totally different story and setting, but the quality of the drawings, behaviour or characters and coolness of fights are pretty much identical. If you like bleach, you'll like this. If you're looking for something with a more 'thriller-like' experience. Asif you were watching a friday-night thriller, but in anime style, then I'd definately go for: Code Geass Death note Claymore If you like 'slice of life', which is like watching a comic-movie on tv. there's a general story, but mainly it's about moral, comedy and often love - Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO for short on most sites) - Hotaru No Haka (an actual 90min anime movie) I can go more into detail, but you'll have to find your subgenre. Watch you like in anime and where you'd like to expand to. Only then can we start providing true lists of the good stuff
  7. welcome to our little group sarah :-)
  8. Welcome ... To the madhouse! *dramatic music cue* no seriously, glad you made it here :-)
  9. Well ... what a coincidence ! Just happens to be an opening in my wallet. The previous residents were just traded in for some fun make sure to refer them to me
  10. I must sadly say that I'm no fan of Jacky Chan. His acting is often sub-par and the only reason he is often selected for a roll is his facial expressions and his ability to put his feet around his neck to to speak. No offence to people who like him, but it's a big nono for me
  11. A shady figure, covered in warts, approaches you. With a deep, sighing voice he manages to say: "They got to you too did they ... Get out while you still can. Get out !" nah, just joking mate Welcome to the forums
  12. as a chemist.. I was aware. Allso, I think U (uranium) would be a better choise. In it's a very heavy isotope, so it's written in the 'later part' of the atomic table. Which refers to lategame It's valuable, as ar the items in Niob It can release lots of energy with fission. Niob characters have a lot of power too. some of it's isotopes are unstable (as are most ppl crazy enough to level a character to max niob ) it's the perfect match.
  13. That is very good news indeed. I hate it when they cram 4 seasons (or books) of anime into a single movie. You just can't grasp it. Allso the fact that the main storyline is split up into 3 major parts, makes it logical to make 3 movies about it. I'll be watching it when it comes out ps: Use fluoric acid. Much more potent. [NERDMODE] In fact, it is stored in containers made out of teflon, because that's one of the few things it wont burn though. Glass, metal, bathtubs, plastic containers, you name it. This stuff will burn through it like its cardboard. [/NERDMODE]
  14. I think you should upgrade to pro ... Can't seem to find a link for it though
  15. The anime is definately very cool. Let's hope they didn't stray too far from the general story
  16. I recently got to know this series, and I must say, it made it to my top 3 of best series I've watched so far. General plot: A chemistry teacher never did anything wrong in his life. he flies below everyone's radar, loves teaching, and is calm in every aspect of his life. He is then diagnosed with lung cancer, and given a short time to live (can't remember exactly how long). Tiny issue... money. What else is there to do? Get an RV and start cooking meth is what I say. He agrees The story takes you on a journey with the main characters (Mr White, and a former student 'Jesse'). It takes you to the world of meth, druglords, junkies, family troubles, disasters, god knows what. I really can't tell you any more without spoiling the story, I might have told a tad too much already. But all of this is clear in the first 2 episodes, so no real spoilers yet I guess. I've watched a fair amount of tv series. ranging from anime to 24 to lost to domestic programs. This one is definitely one of my favorites. I recommend everyone to watch it. It's sometimes hard to rank series by how good they were, but I found this one very easy to put in place. my current top 3 1- The wire* (seriously, this is the bomb) 2- Band of Brothers 3- Breaking bad I figured I'd share this with you guys. Other series I defo recommend - Dexter (serial killer, but none of the 'watch me be cool' CSI weird stuff) - Weeds (Housemom and drug kingpin? Who says women can't multitask) - Rome (historically correct for the most part, cool backstory, good actors. I'm a fan) - The Sopranos (Duh) - True blood** (Vampires, but none of the Buffy the Vampire lame duck drizzle) * It might not allways have a great Hollywood factor (read: Someone being assaulted by a Bigfoot in an exploding car while being chased by police zombies on an island with a crooked sherrif), but the story is just incredibly deep and complex. The fact that you not only get the story of the police going after the drug lords, but a storyline about the actual gangs, that runs as deep, if not deeper, makes the story very dual-sided. This captured me to the full extent. This is my n°1 series, no matter how much I like BoB **This used to be in my top 3 a while ago. but BB just kicked it out I am allso fully aware that 6 feet under is missing from this list. I've not gotten around to watching it yet, but it's on my Harddrive. When exams are over I'll do a marathon and update you guys . I was told it should make it at least to my top 5, if not 3. This is a non-animated list btw. Otherwhise It'd be slightly different.
  17. my name might ring a bell for ya too Welcome back mate
  18. Yeah, nothing beats getting a croissant out of the oven, put some cheese on it, and watch the cheese melt because it's so fresh it's still warm. That breakfast will get you through the day
  19. Some very interesting work Chattius. I have heard of forwe-welding, which seems to be the same thing. I had some studies of metals and their properties in class. It had allready captured my interest once before, when I learned that those metals cannot be welded together by standard methods. Yet by sheer force, a physical fenomena, something could be achieved with no chemical logic to it. I Can't say I fully understand the details of the proces, but it sure is interesting. As for my job, it's allso 2-part. 5 days a week I go to college, studying chemistry. More specifically: Biochemistry. Even though I still get a large set of subjects, they are all slowly starting to work towards their use in biochemistry. To give an example of what I do in the labs this semester: - Food analysis (Determining salt, phosphourous, nitrates, amino-acids, god knows what, in foods ranging from orange juice to baby food to salted meats and cookies (mmm) ) - Enzymology This revolves around enzymes (and DNA in some labs). Both DNA and enzymes are closely linked, so it's hard to study one without the other. I replicated my own DNA in the lab using PCR (a method to replicate your own DNA using a 'machine', to achieve it in under 5 hours). I tested myself own DNA afterwards to see if I was positive or negative on something called the "Alu-sequence'" in the part of my genes refered to as the PV92 Locus. (see of this as a random set of genes. Even though random, it allways starts and ends with the same sequence, and is 300 units long. These appear to be present in some people, unpresent in others. Sometimes even half your DNA has it, the other half doesn't. Their use is unknown, but presumed an anomaly, rather then a coding part of your DNA). I was double - by the way Which means 0% of my DNA has it. Another test we did was isolate all the enzymes from the white sticky stuff in eggs (do you call it egg-white?). We then tested those enzymes regarding propertys, optimal conditions, reaction speed etc etc.. Organic chemistry Aspirin, Biodiesel, Chloroform. How to make (and safely make) these products from other, more available recourses. That's what we do here. To inspire you, I selected a very cool pic. Picture more chaos (college labs huh), and you can actually see me at work. This is what I look like when I do enzymology labs. Special gloves, cool pipets (the pointy things he's holding), brightly coloured trays (with no added properties, other then being a tray, but cooler). It's all there On the second part of my 'job', I actually work in a bakery (my parents') and scrub the metal plates on which the bread, sausage rolls, croissants and such are baked. Not the fanciest job of em all, but it pays for my late nights
  20. Strap in mate. It's gonna be WILD ! and don't worry about making enemies. We're all friends here. Exept for that guy (points at gogo) glad to have you aboard.
  21. I was captured by it to be honest. Lots of outright AMAZING work there, and the comminuty didn't seem half as bad as I expected. I made an account there, and I'll be lurking around until I get a better idea of what the forum is like. Who knows, I could add 1 to the forums I follow =)
  22. amazing what some people can do. respect
  23. Posts like this make me wanna start Sacred 2 again. You captured the very essence of why I joined this forum so long ago. The very motivation I needed to contribute to the wiki and join the DARK clan. it is truely a unique thing we have here, and it's nice people see it, and appreciate it. Props to the DM community
