  1. The USB is the place where you plug in your controller. You can back up your Sacred data onto an external device, but you will be cut-off from trading online... but that may be a small price compared to what you will lose. Personally, I never cared enough about 1's and 0's to backup my data. Thanks for the reply. Imagine losing every character and game you have played for the past year, you want to save it if at all possible. I have read about this site called "gophermods" Has anyone here ever used it? Do you know if it would be possible to send my system to them so I can save my data and at the same time extending my warranty with Sony in case of any future problems?
  2. I have been playing the heck out of sacred of late. It might have taken its toll on my Ps3. I bought it less then a year ago and have not had any problems until last sunday. I started the system and two minutes later it shut off. The red light power button kept flashing. I stewed for awhile and tried again and it worked. I basically thought it was a freak thing but then it happened again last night. I decided to give the system a rest and will try again today. Has something like this ever happened to anyone? Is there anyway I can back up the countless gear and time I have put into my Sacred characters? I hate the thought of losing it all. I can't seem to find a place to put a USB cable in the system. My main question though is do you think I should just stay away from the system? I am sorry I know this is not exactly Sacred content but I know many people who visit this site know their tech and are informative people.
  3. Well, if you already have a high level shopper you should be set for amulets and rings although there will be a long time that most of the gear you have from you VD shopper will be too high a level for your Elf. There is also the fact that most items in the shop appear for the character you are currently playing. You can place high level amulets and rings in low level gear though so that will help. I have found that your bargain level must be around double your current character level to really be effective. Currently I am working on a shopper Dryad to support my "real" Dryad and I have a shopper around level 60. If you enjoy shopping I would say it can't hurt to have if you can fit it into your build. If shopping is not really your thing I would use the Dryad shopper for your rings and such and take Enhanced Perception on your High Elf. This will let the Elf find a decent amount of gear and you can socket it with items from your VD Dryad.
  4. I just came across an interesting thread that seems to suggest that ravaged impact does not actually work with a bow. (http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/938603-sacred-2-fallen-angel/5634570) Is this true? I sure hope not. I am actually making two Dryads. One is a promiscuous little shopper who enjoys spreading VD to all inhabitants of Ancaria. She will eventually take DW to see if my idea about a Rogue type Vodoo Dryad might actually work. I want levels and I want them now. Do I have to go to the desert to get VD to level me up really quickly? Any other good spots? Is there anyone else out there who has tried to use Bow/Dual Wield Dryad that also makes use of VD to weaken and level up quickly? If so how did it go? At least I think it could be quite fun to play. I know I am a few years behind here with my love for this game and talking about it. I am pretty sure about most of the mods and since I have two very similar characters I can experiment some. But, for the last mod on Ravaged Impact most seem to suggest taking (Double Shot) mod but I think the explosive mod might be better for a character who uses both bows and dual wield. How is the explosive mod? Is it ignorant to choose this mod? Of course if RI does not work with bows as the link above suggest its kinda of pointless to take Double Shot. Lastly, I should probably use short swords correct? Since this will take its damage from Dex instead of Str and let me pump dex for bow use and melee damage. I have to blades called "Ancrids Blade" I believe 4 slots and chance for double hit. I think I will probably use those. Good choice? I am having alot of fun with the Dryad and want one of them to be my premiere character so I would love to hear from all you Dryads, all you walking Sacred Wikis are welcome to share to!
  5. the champion Ogre warriors in the area cast an ice spell that will reduce your run speed. the ice elementals on Seraphim Isle do the same thing. Thanks for the fast reply. So, when that happens the only way to go back to normal is to reload the game?
  6. I know the obvious answer is "did you put on gear over your level"? Well, no I did not but my Seraphim's run speed was reduced to 72 percent. I was farming the orc cave when all of a sudden I noticed her speed was impaired. Any idea why this happen? I am hoping it well go away when I restart the game.
  7. Welp... My 2 cents worth - if you''re going to go all out on shopper, your best bet would be to get bargaining as your FIRST skill. OK.. Sounds a bit counterintuitve, but if you think about it, that IS the primary purpose for that character. The simple fact is, putting skill points into anything and hoping to keep up with your level is easiest when you get that skill early on in the game. The longer you wait, the bigger the gap between levels and after level 50, you're only going to ever get a maximum of 5 skill points per level. But... There's a snag. The Bargaining skill is not a primary skill for the Dryad. Nor for the Seraphim. It's only a primary skill for the High Elf, the Inquisitor and if you've got Ice and Blood, the Dragon Mage. So... You'll have to make it a 2nd or 3rd skill as you have to invest a minimum of 5 skill points into whatever you pick as your primary General (green) skill. Your choices for your primary General skill are: Alchemy - Not exactly the most useful skill at the moment, so pass on this one. Divine Devotion - likewise, not very useful at the moment. Enhanced Perception - Now we're cooking with gas..! EP will also increase the odds of better drops. I'd put the requisite 5 points into this skill in the first few levels and then get Bargaining as soon as you can. These two skills work hand in hand with each other. The sooner you invest points, the sooner you see the benefits as well. You want to be able to pop in on a merchant and find +All Skill items. The reason you want those + All Skills items is simple: You can only invest as many points into a skill as your current level. That is, if your character is level 10, the most skill points you can invest in Bargaining or any other skill is 10 points. You're also going to want to be on the lookout for relics that have + Bargaining values for the same reason. All of these bonus points will stack on top of your base Bargaining value and will improve goodies. My Inquistor shopper got lucky and scored a sword with +7 All Skills, and while I don't use that weapon in combat very often, I click on it and my relic set that yields the highest + Bargaining bonus - before I visit a mechant, runemaster or smith. Don't forget - the runemasters and smiths also sell jewelry and armor - and they're also subject to the game's rules on bargaining. By just swapping weapons and relics, I get a +27 bonus to bargaining. Another way you can help yourself while shopping - you can make a bargaining suit... Find armor that has lots of slots - it doesn't matter if it has any other bonuses - you want to get ahold of + All Skills amulets and forge them into the suit. Stop by your chest on the way to the merchant/runemaster/smith and swap armor before you get there and you're likely to find better goodies along the way... And finally... There's something to say about servers... It doesn't matter if you're playing single player, multiplayer LAN or on the 'Net, but there are times when the servers will be kind to you and there are times when the server will be a harsh mistress and give you lots of stuff you don't need nor want. The trick, at that point, is to log off and log into a different server or simply save the game and restart it. You might find better stuff being sold and dropped overall - or not. You may need to do this a few times until you find a lucky server... It's like playing slots in Vegas. Some machines will be ready to drop a jackpot while others will just suck your wallet dry. FYI, you can do the same sort of thing on the PC version as well. The trick is finding the right armor and enough +All Skills jewelry to forge into a bargaining suit... Thanks for the great information everyone. I really enjoy bow combat, it just feels nice. I have already taken EP and now Voodoo so once VD is up and running I will take Bargain and then work from there. Putting almost all my points into it. I will try and make a suit but my Seraphim has most of the useful equipment for that. I am wondering for my real Dryad how this build looks. Do you think I am taking Tactics way to late? I have put the level I will get the skill next to it. This game is crazy how you have to make like 8 different builds until you get to your "real build" At least I will have two shoppers now. Here she is: 2) C.H Focus 3) Vodoo Focus: so I can mod VD quickly. 5) Ranged Weapons 8) N.W Focus: so I can mod up gold touch heal spell quickly. 12) Spell Resistance: so I can get to armor lore, this is where it gets tricky. 18) Armor Lore: I wish this was a main skill, so I could take combat discipline. 25) Concentration: so I can use ancient bark along with sinister predator. 35) Tactics Lore: at last! I can take this important skill. 50) Enhanced Perception: my shopper dryad and seraphim should provide gear up till this point, I love looting. 65) N.W Lore: last but not least this seems like the most bang for my last buck, mods, cast speed, extra damage for the vines and most importantly it will greatly help my ancient bark buff and the goldegan touch heal spell. If you think this is horrible, no problem I would love to know. Two more things, 1. Sinister Predator, most seem to agree Marked Shot is the best first mod. I will be using bows for the most part so does that make Rapid Shot more important for me? I am guessing that because Marked Shot also effects melee and attack speed can be more slotted into gear I should stick with Marked? 2. I want to use the Vodoo aspect lizard. Since the Dryad already looks so cool I want to go all out. Will this put a serious damper on my build? I might do it anyway hah but I would like to have an idea on how bad it could be. I will be trying to make use of most C.A's including V.D Thanks for the already muy useful information.
  8. The dryad is the "coolest" character isn't she? I have realized with my Seraphim that you need to have your bargain skill two times your level for it to really work. Otherwise you don't get many plus all skill rings and amulets. So before I create a real dryad I am going to make a shopper. I have my Seraphim to provide her with the gear she needs keep up a steady flow of gold. My dryad shopper is level 6 right now. I will be using bows eventually because I have always wanted a bow character. I want a backup blowgun though too which is the main reason I am making a shopper first. What level should I take the Bargain skill. I want it to be soon so I can get on to the real character and so I can have it at least more then double her level. But if I take it as my 4 skill will I only be able to shop for low level gear that will be useless by level 40? I figure eventually I will take Ep with my "real" dryad but not for a long time. So, I want to make a real quick drayd shopper to get her started, money should not be a problem with my seraphim shopper. How do people usually do this? What level should I take Bargain? After that I will probably only put points into that skill and maybe EP. She will try and use VD to get as many levels as she needs but like I said I have to have bargain double her level. Whats the most efficient way to accomplish this?
  9. Really? so I won't be able to survive without WE lore or Constitution? That is a shame, just wondering though if I take CM Lore it will help my damage as well as Hallowed Restoration. I imagine that in later difficulties HR is not enough to keep me alive? As far as unlocking higher levels of play such as Niob. I just have to beat the main quest line correct? Once I beat silver will I be able to take any new character into gold? Or just the character I beat silver with?
  10. Thanks Dragon Brother, and to everyone else for their thoughts. So, thats one so far for Constitution. I want a way to boost my spell damage though and I kinda of like the thrill of being able to die. Although, the game might get much harder then I imagine. I have considered Sword Lore but I dunno. I like to be able to use hafted weapons as well. Right now I am using an Officers Saber and Timboras Curse. I have enough attack speed from DW and Dashing A. Are there much better mods later? Such as Severe Wounds? I would like to have Sword Lore but not sure my build has room. Still pretty unsure, would love to hear more thoughts.
  11. I have been working on a dual wield Seraphim. I use all of her melee abilities as well as Flaring Nova, Radiating Pillar, Baneful Smite and archangels wraith. I have modded them to debuff/slow for the most part. I have put most of attribute points into Vit. I am having real hard time figuring out her last skill choice though. I want to be able to move on to higher levels soon. Here are my skills. 1. EW focus 2. Tactics lore 3. Dual wield 4. Armor lore 5. CM focus 6. RT focus 7. Enhanced perception 8. Bargain 9. Concentration That leaves me with one more skill choice. I having weighing the benefits of CM Lore or Combat Discipline. Here is my thinking on both skills. CM Focus: This would allow me to more easily mod up Cleansing Brilliance and Baneful Smite. Would also benefit from plus all combat art skills. The main reason in my mind to take this though is the fact that it will help out my Hallowed Restoration. Does it improve it by a significant amount? I don't have Constitution so I need some health regen. Would improve the damage of my CB buff. Combat Discipline: The main benefit would be the fact that it improves the damage of ALL my Combat Arts not just one aspect. It would also let me put important skills such as HR, Pelting Strikes and Flaring Nova into a combo spot to get better regen. Although at the moment all my AW skills are around 1.9 sec regen and I don't plan on eating many runes. I just try and socket plus all combat arts. It would also obviously let me make bigger, stronger combos. I have not figured out how to change a combo though? Is this possible? Say I have PS and SH in a combo could I later change that combo to PS and Flaring Nova ? If so how? The only other skill I am really considering is Constitution but I would prefer a damage skill and use HR plus Divine Protection to stay alive. I can also socket gear with plus health regen and have been spending most of my attribute points on VIT. Is there anything else I am overlooking? I would greatly appreciate any opinions on which I should choose as my last skill. (almost forgot) Does Combat Discipline improve the range of my spells such as Flaring Nova or Radiating Pillar? I thought I read that but when I looked back at the wiki it does not mention it in the write up. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
  12. Hello again, Hope the build is going well. 1. I dunno exactly how many you get but look at sacred wiki, go to Combat Art. Then go to Combat Art Modifications at the bottom of the page. It will tell you how many points you need to get to the next mod point for example you get one at level 3-5-9-14-22 and then on and on. To get all 15 mod points you will need to spend alot of points in the given focus/lore. 2. I really don't know. I thought I read that does not work anymore. Even without being in Niob a shopper can help you. Plus, it will be gear closer to your other characters levels. It takes a long time to get to level 200. It is possible to socket how level rings and amulets in low level gear and the character will get the benefits! 3. I have been told that you do not need Riding to use a class specific mount. It will have positive and negative effects on your character. Increased HP but Pelting Strikes will take longer to execute. You can't go into dungeons with a mount either. Good Luck.
  13. I have only started a dryad so please keep that in mind but I see two ways of looking at it. 1. Take bargain, you are ranged anyway and with Goldagan? touch you should be able to stay alive. Use your shopping skills to make up for the hitpoints and hitpoint regen. 2. Take Constitution and make another bargain character to find all of the gear that you need. Personally I would probably go with option number one.
  14. Hello, every time I play this game it seems to raise a new question and when I figure one out another one seems to always pop up. 1. Opponent level for Death Blow. I want to socket this into my gear but first I would like to know it doesn't stack right? I imagine that would be a problem. But just want to make sure. I doubt you can get 40% level for death blow and then what would stop you from achieving 60% level for death blow. 2. Silver and Gold sockets. I understand that rings and amulets in gold sockets and only rings in silver but I thought I read somewhere that the Gold socket gives you a bonus over the silver socket? Am I making this up? If I am not what is it? If I have an amulet with -8% chance to evade and 16 life leech does it make a difference if its in the gold or silver socket? 3. Lastly, weird question. Does the Evade Saber Tiger or the Exalted Warrior look more "badass" in your opinion? For some reason it matters to me, I am crazy I know.
  15. Hello again, yes I had a Necromancer that was my item finder in D2. The Sorceress was my semi Treasure Hunter. My favorite game of all time, but this game is actually more complex. I agree that if you do have a specific bargain character then you might want to leave the skill out. In my opinion though its worth it just to take because most of the gear you can find shopping is for your SPECIFIC character class. Having the ability to buy plus all skill rings right away really helps. But if you plan on making a Shopper to level up with your main character you can leave it off. Just remember this will probably take even more work. Enhanced Perception will help you find gear much faster but again if you really plan on having multiple characters with different roles then its best left out. Just so you know I felt the same way as you before but now I would at least take EP. If you decide against it I suggest spending some time in gear with "Chance to find Valuable". 1. I think the only real difference is visual, and maybe the usual mods you can find. For example Hafted weapons usually have a chance to stun while Swords usually have "Level for Death Blow" 2. Not exactly sure but if you go to the overview screen then click over once you will see all your stats. This will list your attack and run speed. With Dashing Alracity and points in Dual Wield you should be able to easily reach your max. The max for Run Speed and Attack Speed is 150%. 3. Not positive but I always put most of my attribute points in Vit. I also don't have constitution though. I suggest building up whatever attribute you feel is the weakest. To be honest most of the time I actually just try and reach whole numbers. If I am one point away from 150 str I put it there. If I have 119 in Vit I will take it to 120. Hope that helps, by the way if you ever want to play online sometime my PSN is Rasputin177. I play during the night.
