  1. Whenever I play Sacred for more than 3 hours at a time, the game always freezes the PS3 and I need to do a reboot. Now I am at a point where I can almost tell when the console will freeze and usually save just before that. I think the game freezes because it doesn't properly free up used memory. I imagine a lot of memory is used in a few hours of killing and collecting loot and if they don't recycle properly it would cause a freeze.
  2. I haven't seen anyone mention this but there is a cave which connects the human and orc realms. The easiest way to get there is to use the grunwald teleporter and go southwest and at the first fork in the road go right. When you get to the cave, just run through it and just before the exit on the orc side there are around 10 - 12 enemies (some champions). In my testing this cave seems to be on par with the orc cave in terms of experience but the enemies are easier to kill and don't pose as much of a threat. Anyway here are some numbers I came up with: I made 3 runs in each place and clearing each area 5 times per run. Arkenmark's Refuge: Run 1: 382016 experience in 155 sec = 2464 experience/sec Run 2: 400896 experience in 165 sec = 2429 experience/sec Run 3: 370272 experience in 164 sec = 2257 experience/sec Grunwald cave: Run 1: 209920 experience in 94 sec = 2233 experience/sec Run 2: 210304 experience in 94 sec = 2237 experience/sec Run 3: 206880 experience in 96 sec = 2155 experience/sec Orc cave: Run 1: 201312 experience in 93 sec = 2164 experience/sec Run 2: 203392 experience in 94 sec = 2163 experience/sec Run 3: 199552 experience in 103 sec = 1937 experience/sec Windswept fortress cave: Run 1: 230048 experience in 76 sec = 3026 experience/sec Run 2: 215680 experience in 72 sec = 2995 experience/sec Run 3: 201472 experience in 81 sec = 2487 experience/sec The windswept fortress has the potential to give very high experience/sec but it also has the potential to be very low. I've seen a run which had around 100k experience in the above conditions, although I didn't time it.
  3. My biggest problem with it its the OMG long walk to get there. There is a port on the north side of Artamark that you can teleport to which would cut the long walk to nothing.
  4. I messed around with the settings today and it appears that "collect" controls what weapons/armor for your class you pick up and "collect. misc. items" controls what weapons/armor for other classes you pick up not sure what the difference between normal and everything is
  5. Even with the options set to 2 stars for items, a lot of 0 and 1 star items still get picked up on the PS3.
  6. There is a spot at the very beginning, near the portal closest to the White Griffin. It is not the best experience spot but it is nice for a bargaining toon as there is a cave with 4 rat champions and a merchant right outside. Here is a map of the location:
  7. Never use a blowpipe against Facetteleon, for some reason he is very difficult to hit with them. As far as the hirelings are concerned, there is another quest in the desert region which can give you 3 or 4 followers. I am not sure about the quest name so I took a screenshot and marked it. One thing to note about the quest is that when you get to the area marked with circle, you have to kill several enemies before the quest is given. What happens sometimes, is that you can get the followers without killing all of the enemies and you have to restart and go to the same place to get the quest. EDIT: If the above happens then the followers can't die and there will be a marker on the map but nothing happens when you get there. Hope this helps. Ivo
  8. This begs the question whether anyone has ever looked at the 4GB of game data Sacred installs onto the PS3 drive.
  9. I think it's fairly safe to assume the developers have different functions to calculate damage and health regeneration. A misplaced decimal point in one of them could be responsible for the difference between the damage dealth and health regenerated from life leech.
  10. The wiki suggests that life leech % does damage to the % multiplied by the enemy's initial hit points, so a weapon with 2% LL should kill an enmy in 50 hits. Sacred Wiki -> Life Leech % Check out this video and specifically the "Additional damage" messages: Video
  11. I have Detheya's full set which gives 3.9% (or 3.6% can't remember) life leech, which means at most 26 hits (100/3.9 = 25.6 round up to 26) should kill any monster. I tried it against bosses and it takes more than 26 hits to kill most of them.
  12. Like I said in a post in this thread, Life Leech % doesn't work properly on the PS3. I am not sure about XBOX but I can't imagine it being different. What I've noticed on the PS3 that the damage done is not calculated correctly and it does 1 damage when it should do 1000. The good news is that it does actually leech the correct amount of life. I noticed this when fighting the Grunwald dragon and he was doing 8000 damage to me and my health was getting refilled instantly. Finally to answer you question, I believe (not 100% sure) you get the additional damage message when you leech at least 1000 damage. In your case the message will show when you fight an enemy with just over 83k life (83334 * 1,2% = 1000).
  13. Here is what I did for my ranged SW: Skills: 1. Malevolent champion focus (keep at char level, mastery by level 75) 2. Death warrior focus (enough points for 6 mod points, keep in mind you get mod points for this from Tactics Lore as well) 3. Concentration (1 point only) 4. Tactics lore (5 points to open up ranged weapons, add more points later) 5. Ranged weapons (keep at char level, mastery by level 75) 6. Armor Lore (put points into this when you start finding armors that are too high for you to wear) 7. Constitution (keep at char level, mastery by level 75) 8. Toughness 9. Combat discipline 10. Optional (I am going to pick speed lore) I would advise against picking combat reflexes since one of your buffs will be reflecting damage and if you avoid getting hit then no damage gets reflected. Buffs: 1. Grim resilience (read as many runes as you want, but keep regen rate for frenzied rampage less than 3 sec) - Rejuvenation (increase hitpoint regeneration rate) - Discipline (reduces regeneration penalty from GR) - Safeguard (increase physical resistance) 2. Reflective emanation (read as many runes as you want, but keep regen rate for frenzied rampage less than 3 sec) - Backlash (reflect ranged attacks) - Antimagic (reflect spells) - Riposte (chance to increase reflected damage) Combat arts: 1. Frenzied rampage - main CA for this build, read only 1 rune - Double attack (chance to strike twice with one hit) - Double strike (increases chance of double attack) - Envenom (adds poison damage) 2. Demonic blow - either read 1 rune or many and use against bosses for huge damage with one hit - Wounding - chance to cause an open wound - Poisoning - adds poison damage - Trauma - chance to cause a severe wound Weapons/Armor: Use any energy weapon that you want and any armor that you like. The only thing to pay attention to is CA regen times and attack rating. I usually use either rings or armor that has "Regeneration per hit" and make sure the attack rating is high enough that the attacks don't miss too often.
  14. hahah awesome I've seen the BFG as my freind has a build of it, it's sososososo powerful! I may give the machine gunner SW a go, sounds fun how does it cope on boss's? The SW does very well on bosses, he is actually my only char that has never died and has never been close to dying. He is on dryad island on gold right now and has over 80% survival bonus. I can post the skills I chose later if you want them.
  15. If you are using a ranged seraphim, then try a BFG build. I just started one and it is very powerful at the early levels. Another nice ranged char is the shadow warrior with an energy weapon and frenzied rampage CA. If you get a high attack speed and very low regen time, it looks like he is firing a machine gun.
