  1. Yesterday I was working on my desktop computer when windows I had open started to to close in an orderly fashion one by one. When what was obviously a restart began I got a message on the order of Installing Updates (don't recall it exactly). Today working on my notebook I got a window saying that updates had been installed and counting down to a reboot.
  2. Put side by side with eSATA and FireWire 800, USB 3.0 is far superior. ESATA an external connection that runs at the same speed as the internal SATA 1.0 bus, has a maximum theoretical of 3Gbps. This makes USB 3.0 faster than eSATA and about six times faster than FireWire 800 (full duplex at 800Mbps). USB 3.0 also provides another advantage while eSATA is faster than FireWire 800 unlike FireWire it cannot supply power. USB 3.0 has the advantage of being faster than both, even while supplying power.
  3. A good password has to balance security with our ability to remember it because minimizing the number of places that a password is written down or otherwise recorded is a good idea. It is a tough line the most memorable passwords are the easiest to crack while the most secure are a jumble of characters that are impossible to recall.
  4. I am undervolting using a program called CPUgenie. It takes almost 24 hours but it does an intense stress test on each voltage setting and does it all automatically. I will know tomorrow morning if it is even worth it. How much extra battery life did you get from doing this to your laptop? You might also want to look into 3D Mark Vantage. That program can stress test your CPU in 15-30 minutes to check if it's stable.
  5. The 3G iPad is really part of a brand-new gadget category. Devices that can bring you any kind of content anywhere and at any time. IPad and iPhone quality visual performance, and 10 hour battery life unmatched by any current-generation Apple product, or most competitors. Good for book and periodical reading, strong for web and video viewing, more capable of content creation than iPods and iPhones. Supports 720p HD video playback, and many more features are available.
