  1. I would love to try clustering maelstrom and the force push CA against players...hehehehe
  2. Thinking about the skills and equipment-centric focus of Sacred 2 I have come to the conclusion that balanced twinked PvP is not possible, or at least not without the dedication required in D2 duelling. Furthermore I have yet to PvP in Sacred 2, which irks me as I enjoy very much balanced duels (I enjoyed team arenas in Guildwars, but my favourite was 1v1 in Guildwars, going in blind..everyone sets up in seperate locations, with whatever characters they like, and then meet up in a guildhall for a 1v1 scrimmage). So.... I propose we (me, DA, Dark and whoever else is out there ), get some casual friendly duels going. In order to enhance the spirit of fairplay and sportsmanship there would be strict rules enforced through trust (so no evil dark-side players! (joke)): 1) Hardcore and softcore modes are both possible, but my preferred scenario for 1v1 is all participants level up together a few characters (I suggest 2 or 3) each in hardcore mode, then fight in waves until the last man is standing. We could either make each wave an independent affair, so when one dies they both select their next characters and rinse and repeat. Or when one dies he chooses his next character, but his opponent continues using his present character. Another favoured scenario of mine is we create two teams of 5 players in softcore (so the super-fun-time can be repeated several times), with each team deciding together on what each character should be and so on and balancing themselves etc etc. 2) Since we are all hardcore players, I suggest duels of level 8 chars, for 4 skill selections and a reasonable chance to develop your char. Alternatively level 12 is good as well. 3) To enhance the availability of participation to all who would like it there would be a strict no-twink rule, and a set amount of gold allowed for shopping with that particular char. If you choose to take bargaining as one of your 4 skill choices in order to obtain better equipment then so be it, but remember the gold limit, which I suggest should be 20000 for level 8s or 25000 for level 12s, to include all smithing, relic purchases and so on. All smithing is from the difficulty level of the characters, so no niob smiths 4) Rune exchanging would be excluded from the gold limit, so feel free to exchange at 1:1 or whatever.. There would, however, be a cap on the number of runes for any given CA, and a seperate limit overall. For level 8 chars I propose no more than 3 runes for any given CA, and 8 runes in total, and for level 12 chars no more than 4 runes per CA and 12 runes in total. These rune numbers include runes socketed, so though buff slots etc are allowed they will count towards the total number of runes allowed *and* the individual CA cap. 5) Excluded CAs: In 1v1 play I believe we must decide about whther certain CAs should have a further rune cap, or whether they should be exluded altogether. My main concern is a dryad specialising in nature weaver and eating the cap of 3 or 4 runes in goldenglade touch could heal considerably faster than any character class can damage at these levels. Similar concerns exist for Hallowed restoration, but to a lesser extent. I am open to suggestions. I think no such balance is required in the case of team battles, as it can easily be compensated for by careful spiking. 6) Potions: I suggest 5 healthpotions be allowed per person per fight, and all others (elixirs and concentration potions) not be allowed. 7) God spells: I am open to suggestions, but I think they should be allowed. They have clear cast animations, and it is perfectly possible to run from them during their duration. Furthermore 5 healthpotions are there for a reason. Sakkarra is equally dangerous to both teams so no restriction here either. Testa is perfectly survivable by running during the cast animation, using relics, and using some of the permitted healthpotions. 8) During team battles it would be great to get each team on teamspeak or something similar, but I understand if people would rather not, or view it as unecessary (it isn't in my experience ). 9) Mounts: I am open to suggestions as to either way but I think there is no reason why mounts should not be permitted, though the cost would have to come out of the gold limit *at the character level of the duels*, so no cheeky 1k mounts at level 1. 10) Debuffs and related: Several CAs are able to debuff, and so we must decide on whether rebuffing is allowed during combat. I think yes, but then there is another issue of summon buffs. An Astral Lord summoner would be able to simply resummon 4 level 10+ skeletons, providing overwhelming strength. I am not sure of whether this should be allowed or not. I think this is a fairly comprehensive list of rules, and should cover most situations. Please feel free to comment below with alterations or new rules and I will add them as agreed by consensus. This system is clearly reliant on trust, so play nice, play fair, and show some class. If you like this idea, dislike this idea, or are just bored at work then please do say! One final word...let the Yarrage begin!
  3. ya I have mine turned right down, and frankly Schot's video looks like a completely different game. Seems I must plunder, loot and pillage for some more RAM and graphics (that last sentence was just to allow me an excuse to use the nifty pirate smiley..wooo) Edit: and dmol hadn't had a death in a while, so I suppose mother nature was getting confused at this. The natural order of things (dmol=many many chars) had to be restored! Besides, knuckles is giving you a run for your money on the death count...must...keep...first...place.
  4. why only 6 points in EP? Do diminishing returns kick in?
  5. menu>gameplay options>free camera then just use 'alt' by default to adjust angle etc, or use middle mouse button. hope this helps
  6. maybe he killed a boss or something big with a DoT like bleeding or something, so when he died the kill then notched up the first 1% SB...
  7. ahh, so something like glacial thorns would be a poor choice?
  8. just a slight point, bronze sets have fewer mods than silver sets. Also, how come the bosses were consistently dropping sets? Is it because you were such a higher level?
  9. if you are looking to integrate this into a calculator program you are writing then add all the tables into an XML file (or even a csv) and just transact it each time you need it. I imagine Antitrust has the original data in a file somewhere (amazing patience ) I recently did something similar for X3, and the XML files that stored the data had about 4000 rows iirc, but fortunately it was extracted straight from the game files. If you are just making a spreadsheet then it is pretty simple to use nested lookup functions and so on to return what you require Edit: As for a formula for constitution I imagine that with about 30 samples of the health bonus at various character levels and skill levels it could be possible to just get excel to create an approximate regression line for it. Of course it would not be the actual formula used by the game but it could provide a very good fit (getting better as the sample size increases). I might google some blank character saves and have a fiddle myself.
  10. it does increase the number of containers available to be searched, though, yes? (I.e. the number of barrels allowed to be searched, not just with an error symbol over, yes?). I realise any given container will have the same chance of containing stuff etc.
  11. yep Silver mod boosts chance of multiple summons at once. But you can have multiple summons following you from multiple casts, with a reasonably quick regen time it is perfectly feasible to have 5+ following at once, and coupled with 4 skellies and reflective emanation modded to party-buff it can be pretty tasty. Couple that with lots of shadow veil, a nice spider pet, good resilience buff, and it can be pretty durable. It is shame that the duration is not a bit longer, a la D2 'revive' spell.
  12. Yesterday I also had a skeleton champion follow me to MP Island, he could attack us and what is worse he was un-targettable. I had used instill belief on him, and I think that bugged him to remain as a 'companion', though he was still able, and did, try to kill us. Fortunately, it was SC. Interestingly, he remained in that state even when I teleported around several times and I only got rid of him by re-logging. They need to put more rigourous game checks in place when teleporting. Furthermore, Ker should only attack the caster, and not allies.
  13. I hate this uneccessary (evinced by the servers being all in one place anyway) segregation. Sacred 2 needs as many players as possible together, as there are few enough of us anyway, and insufficient for proper large PUGs. Bah... On topic: I have steam, and it worked for me, so I imagine that means I hae the international version. I do not recall having the option to specify, however, which is a real shame for US players. 14. I am curious as to why the number 1 has no hardcore symbol after her name. Oh, and depressing to see nothing but viperish got her there.
  15. well a mean is a mean, not a boundary. But the marginal benefit of more bargaining may start to decrease. That's what I think that implies. Anyway, Scoobydouche from the main forum has some nice data which I will collate with another source, and fiddle around with it in a spreadsheet and see if I can get any kind of consistent formula to fit the data. What we really need is characters of other levels (his was 76) to do something similar with the same levels of bargaining to try and see how character level influences it.
