  1. Yes, air conditioning is essential in Texas, as our state has doubled in population over the past four years; our energy demands have increased. There are plenty of opportunities for employment and people also like the way that the state government is managed. Many folks appreciate the fact that Texas has few bitterly cold Winters and deep snowfalls which restrict transportation. Texas is huge. Germany, not a small country, is just under 53% of Texas' size. I mention that, because there are very significant temperature variations from far north Texas to far south when measured at the same time. Perhaps, such differences in temps from north to south aren't so different in Germany. Is there often a large disparity in climatological data between northern Germany compared to its south on the same day? Nevertheless, northern-dwelling Texans (like Amarillo) see bitterly cold weather much more often than those in the south (like Brownsville.) That having been mentioned, interestingly, Houstonians were treated to about 5" (12 Centimeters) of snow, falling over about one day recently. That was an event which might happen once in fifty years, or even less often.
  2. @gogoblender Rommel, you really need to be in Texas. Right now, the temperature is 28°C and truly "balmy." We have the air conditioning on to remain comfortable.
  3. kind- hearted => Casper The Friendly Ghost
  4. evil voice = "Devil Made Me Do It!"
  5. ties => grounding Ties are much more than an affectation worn around the neck. Ties are a connection, a way of grounding us and providing us a with feeling of belonging and a sense of purpose. Ties instill within us an important connection to our family, friends, community, and country. Education means very little if we have no purpose, no cause to employ it in a greater service to humanity and for the strengthening of our society. The greatest things we can accomplish in the fleeting life we are given are not found in serving ourselves, but are realized in our service to others and to the ultimate benefit of all mankind.
  6. intellect devourer => fat Middle-aged obesity and a diet rich in sugars and saturated fat are known contributors to cognitive decline. Being overweight is associated with a fatty liver which is less functionally able to prevent amyloid build up and toxins from entering the brain tissue which can cause dementia and Alzheimer's syndrome.
  7. @Flix I've been playing for many hours, perhaps twenty or so, over three days (in Multiplayer) and I'm already up to a Survival Bonus of 70.5% and the Map Revealed is at 51.6%. It seems as if it takes longer to increase the Survival Bonus the higher its level climbs. This is where some "augmentation" would be most efficacious. I was hoping to create a guide on creating a High Level Character, using the Character Editor, one which might quickly attain a high level Survival Bonus. UPDATE: Well, there is no workaround. There are no shortcuts. This is the bitter, odious facticity: One must, from a starting Survival Bonus of zero, remain in combat continuously for twenty four hours every day, for roughly thirty days, in order to attain close to a 100% Survival Bonus.
  8. That's a very well-designed banner! It looks as if it had been officially released with the game originally.
  9. Donald E. Knuth => Magnus Carlsen
  10. @Flix I tried this method; my toon would change its stance as if ready for battle, but it didn't raise the Survival Bonus over a period of time. I saw a way to alter and increase the bonus' accumulation in the blueprint file, but the instructions weren't detailed enough for me to duplicate. I'm just trying to replicate my character for another run in Niobium with all the quests. Using the Character Editor, only the Map revealed and Survival Bonus cannot be affected without many, many hours of game play; I don't really mind wandering the map multiple times but attaining the Survival Bonus once more is a bear! Complete instructions would be much appreciated.
  11. Well, Rommel, "y'all" (contraction of you all) is a southern United States colloquialism. However, it's generally a staple component of a Texan's vocabulary. The one thing that one will notice in Texas (especially in small towns and rural settings) is a friendly demeanor and the display of true "Texas hospitality." You're always welcome to visit, my good friend.
  12. Rommel, although Houston just got 2-5" of snow on Monday, I don't think they would like temps like yours in Montreal! Oh, and what with this "Y'all" that you posted? Are you adopting a Texas accent now?
  13. I was very young when I first heard this song. I hadn't heard it for such a long time. It has bewitched me yet again; it's so very captivating.
  14. Rommel, I make time for the fans. Thanks are appreciated, yet the thought of knowing that I have done something of benefit to others is its own reward. There is yet another helpful tip that, I believe, our members will appreciate: There is a Sharpening option available for NVIDIA GPU users which will, potentially, enhance the visual sharpness and overall appeal of their games for free. If interested, do this: IMPORTANT: If you are not comfortable making an edit to your registry, please do not continue. Making a Restore Point beforehand before any registry edit is a very good idea. To accomplish this task, just go to System Properties; access the System Protection Tab, then Create. Type a description (I prefer a date xx_xx_xxxx) then save the restore point. Now for the fun part: 1) If it is open, close the NVIDA Control Panel. 2) Search for Registry Editor, right click, and Run As Administrator. 3) By using the drop downs or copy/pasting and pressing Enter, navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm\FTS 4) Find and adjust EnableGR535 from a preset value of 1 to a new value of 0 5) Now close the registry editor without any other changes. (Your new value of 0 will be saved on exit) Now, to add that really nice free boost to your game visuals which I mentioned. You may do the following: 6) Open the NVIDIA Control Panel and you will find a new setting under Manage 3D Settings at the top listed as Image Sharpening. 7) Use the drop-down; set Sharpen to a value of 0.70 in Global Settings. For Sacred 2, I found that a value of 0.33 is better, so set that in your Program Settings for Sacred 2. Set Ignore Film Grain to a value of .017 (Do not tick-mark the GPU Scaling box in this drop down. Leave it empty.) 8) Save your changes and close the NVIDIA Control Panel. NOTE: The new Sharpening setting may be switched off in either the Global Settings, and for a specific game or application, in the Program Settings, as best suits your own needs. ENJOY.
  15. home made Texan pie = Texas homemade pecan pie (By the way, it's pronounced "puh-khan" not "pea-can.") Yep, it's a thing! (And a lip-smackin,' toe-curling, tongue-tantalizing, terrifically tasty treat to boot!) Make a pie yourself. Just check here: insanelygoodrecipes.com
  16. For our members who have a somewhat newer NVIDIA GPU and find it a bit of a daunting task to optimally adjust your Control Panel Settings for Sacred 2, view the screen captures below. Your Global Settings will most probably be different; it will probably be best to have many of the options set to be controlled by newer games automatically under that tab. If Sacred 2 doesn't show under the Program Settings tab, you may add it. Search for Sacred 2's folder location and select it. After adopting the settings shown below, I trust that you will experience smooth performance at Ultra settings. The beauty of the game, now so augmented, will present itself in all of its colorful glory and enticing splendor.
