Someone please correct me if I am in error, yet is not the Community Patch effective as an addtion to the Sacred 2 Ice and Blood Version and not found to be effectual when added to the original version of (vanilla) Sacred 2?
Regardless, the Gold version is cheap enough now on GOG so getting a copy with all the extras loaded in already is most advisable. Additionally, there are plenty of downloads to equip your character from the start and other Mods to augment the game, many from our good old friend Flix. Have fun, Sir Doglet, and welcome to Dark Matters. Huzzah!

"Two of those crows are fully submerged. I have heard of bird baths, but this is ridiculous."

How'd you sneak a High Elf onto Dragon Mage Island? That place is forbidden except for students of Dragon Magic.
You need to speak with this gentleman in the mayors house at the start of the game. Hold on to your pants, as he will teleport you all over the forbidden places.
I don't know when he appears, or how to make him do this again. Maybe you need to beat the game on that difficulty or something.
Yes, SX255 is correct, it's part of the beginning of the "Bugs" quest that will transport your character there. If one isn't attentive and does not accept the quest on Start Island by contacting the Ogre there, then the quest is forever missed by that particular player. However, there are exceptions, if one completes it in the Silver level, for example, then it may yet be sought once again in the other following levels, Gold, Platinum, & Niob, or Bronze if you wish to backtrack that far and have skipped it by beginning at Silver. If you wish to revisit any one of the forbidden areas after you are transported back to Sloeford after the wild series of teleportations, then you may, so long as you remember to make a quick-save by pressing F10 from the specific location of your choosing. One may, via the quick-save method, find themselves virtually anywhere upon restart of the game, accompanied by their trusty mount, even within dungeons and suchlike.

"Dear professor Idhrenion, I miss you and my fellow students back at the academy and offer my kindest regards. I am sending you this postcard with a picture of me and a very gentle dragon, Ormarr, who I met during my travels. We shared a pleasant conversation and I learned that not all of his ilk are so opposed to the likes of us. As a matter of fact, we are quite the best of friends now and he hopes that I will visit again; he also requested that I bring a wild boar on my return, so that he may barbeque it properly for us to share for dinner. Additionally, he mentioned to me that he has sampled the flesh of humans and that of boars and though quite similar in taste, boars are fatter and much tastier. Finally, he despises the ways that pigs behave and that nowadays, the thought of harming a sentient being such as himself, he finds to be particularly disconcerting. Well, I'm running out of space on this tiny card, so farewell for now.
Your faithful student, Vanafindiel

Here's a bit of eye candy from the game. My toon is completely submerged and has a marvelous view of the small fish as they merrily navigate their underwater paths, blissfully unaware that they are being watched. You may see this amusing spectace yourself should you take a cool dip, crossing the Torreya Brook near the bridge from Twainbrook.
"Oh my, what a treat, the little fishies are having a party near the bridge."
-
"Oh dear, I fear that this poor little bear captain's voyage has been stopped cold and it appears from their remains that his skeleton crew had summarily abandoned ship."
-
"There is just no telling what one may find in a cave around here. I suppose that some theives have hidden these lovley paintings in here for the time being."
-
Yes, it's named Gronkor's Outlook and is the location of Jens Eischeid, one of the Ascaron employees that have to be contacted in order to complete the Epic Office Quest.

"How does one access the Dryad-style dwelling below? I would like to pay a visit.
I find that this scenic overlook offers one of the most stunnigly spectacular views in the game.

"Mr. Ogre, before we get on our way, I am curious, did we not meet in the desert near Turbak where I escorted you to the coast there as well?
Ogre: "Me will tell when get to destination, little creature."
More'findiel: "Well, I suppose that's that then. Will we ever meet again, Mr. Ogre?"
"Yes, tiny nice elf. You see, me only have Spring every year to travel, me must go for fun some. That why you meet me time before. Me be on way back now. Me must hibernate for Summer on home, Christmas Island. Dark Faeries steal me Christmas Ogre costume every year, all times new hero come help me find it all. Soon will be your turn. Me be happy to seeing you then, we share hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies then too, you like, yes? Take care on your journeys, little one."
-
Yes, he even admits in the Crystal Plain, "Hullo, me is lost. Still. Or again? Dunno, me is confused."
-
"The Lonely Ogre asked that I capture this moment with the three of us, him, Alima, and me. Shortly before we parted ways, he thanked me and referred to me as 'little creature'. I don't suppose that he is able to imagine such relative size from our perspective. Regardless, in the eyes of Alima and me he is quite huge indeed. Why, just look at his size compared to that of Alima! Oh well, I will miss them both, especially Alima; I feel as if she has become quite fond of me."
-
"One should not feed trolls."
-
"Don't these conjurers know that nothing good may come from invoking such an abomination?"
-
Yes, the orcs sing the same lyrics, albeit a trifle out of tune, so much so that only a mother might appreciate such a thing.
-
"While visiting this tiny outpost just southeast of El-Darrag, a minstrel entertained us. One woman stood on her seat and showed her approval. I wonder if she likes the music of Blind Guardian."

That's quite a fascinating detail woven into the game and the fact that each of the gods has an alternate version, not only adds intrigue, it also makes the deities somewhat more palpable. I can envision Ker, in particular, as having continually writhing and undulating arms, carrying out her insidious and abominable activities.
-
Noteworthy, are the differences between these statues of Ker, one of which is on the route to the Bengaresh Desert Dragon's lair, and the statues of Ker located at the numerous temples of the gods throughout the land of Ancaria. For instance, if you look closely, one of the variations (aside from the placements of the bowl and the blade that she is holding) is the severed head that Ker is grasping by its hair is on her right side, not the left as it is on the other likenesses at the temples. There may be other alterations between some of the other reproductions of Ker elsewhere; I will report them here if and when I discover them.

wow, Frazetta... very clever Hooyah!
I was looking at the pic first for a while, wondering why it was so different looking, and when you said Frazetta it clicked... how did you retouch it?
I think it's pretty genius
gogo
I merely Photoshopped my High Elf into a "golden" bikini. Thanks for the compliment Gogo.
cheers!

^ Thanks SX255, for the link addressing Kobolds and their origin.
The remains of yet another who has suffered death affixed cruely to a makeshift cross, baking and dehydrating in the unforgiving desert sun. The expression displayed by the facial mélange seems somewhat incongruous, however.
-
This is a "retouched" screenshot of my High Elf, Arwen having a mele battle with Kobolds, unaided by any forged weapon or shield. It reminds me of a painting by Frank Frazetta; I decided to share it here.

"The sentry on my right appears to have been standing in that spot for quite an extended period of time."
-
"How curious, there is the appendage of an orc lying here on the tavern floor."
"I have heard of having to separate oneself from ones 'arms' at certain such establishments, but this is ridiculous."
-
You may also wish to socket some rings that provide additional ice and physical damage, it will increase the destructive capability of your icy spell crafts.

"This pool looks so lovely and inviting... I think I will take a refreshing little dip."
