Doc, your aquariums are beautiful. Have you ever considered setting up a very large one? I had a 135 gallon (510 liter) realistic aqua-scape with petrified wood and all natural plants. One particular species covered the bottom like a carpet of grass where the ghost shrimp lived and bred. I had a variety of tetra and Discus (South American perch). It established its own bio-cycle and needed almost no maintenance.

What I have found, is that if you play the game as it is delivered (I play the GOG version) it already has the current Community Patch and all of the settings are set properly, so that the visual and actual pick up range for loot works right. In the past, this was not always the case, and some old posts refer to dealing with this issue. However, what I posted about changing other parameters within the options file by creating a companion optionsCustom file stands. Adjusting some other settings which could enhance ones play style might be fun. For instance, being able to zoom way out on occasion and see the tops of very tall buildings from a bird's eye view is interesting. Taking a look at some of the other settings, players might find find some other fun options as well. Most of all, have fun playing the game!

@SLD You may check to determine if your visual pick up loot range matches visually, what the actual loot recovered is, by dropping an item (a potion will do well). Drop the potion and walk away from it. As you approach it, watch your visual pick up circle until it gets just within range. Inch a bit closer and see if the visual range radius diameter is meeting the actual pick up range. If it's not, you might want to make a custom options file. Go to: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2 (unless you have a Steam issue of the game). Make a copy of the options.txt file. Before you do anything else save that copy as options (original). It should be now exist as options(original).txt and you should save it in the same folder so that you can revert to it if there are any issues and you need the original unaltered file again. (If you lose it the game should regenerate the file.) Now make another copy of the options file and rename it optionsCustom. Now you should have the original options.txt file, the options(original).txt file, and the optionsCustom.txt customs file. Open the optionsCustom.txt file and search for: autoCollectRadius. The existing inter should be 230, so be sure that that's the number that you have. NOTE: Before you restart the game, if you made any changes, right click on the options.Custom.txt file and go to "Properties" select the General Tab and at the bottom under Attributes tick-mark the box to change the optionsCustom file to "Read Only." This will keep it from reverting back to its original values. After you start the game now, you should find that the visual pick up range and the actual pick up range match. Still with me, mister? Additional: There are many things that may be changed in the options.txt file. You might like the fact that some of the things that you find here can be altered to benefit your game-play: One may change the screen resolution, the camera angle, and a plethora of other "beneficial gaming quality of living" options.
