And here comes the probably final part of my self found SP HC BFG Sera playthrough diary:
Ther Road so far:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 4.5
Part 5
And now Part 6:
I've finally finished the niobium campaign!
I reached lvl 108, the enemies at the end were ~136 some only 134.
Overall it took me ~73.5 hours which makes the Niobium campaign by far the fastest, taking only ~5.5 hours.
Stat wise nothing interesting changed.
It would have certainly been a lot easier if I had put in some time of orc caving, but it was doable without. The most annoying problems in niobium were overleveled enemies doing a lot of damage to my shield, so I had to wait often to regenerate it and at one point even had to use the divine protection to stay safe. Well, had to might not be true, but it's hardcore after all so I did not want to find out wether I can survive anything with a depleted shield. The most notable annoyances that could make it through the shield were fen fires, plants(dot) and demons/TGs in the desolation could do quite some damage as well probably because of the high enemy level in the desolation areas. So bosses turned out to be the easiest part in the end, as for those I could use divine protection if needed.
(I recorded the Facetteleon, Nimonuil and Guardian fights and a longer one showing all the gear and character details I could come up with, but it's in a german client...)
I will add the finished character file to the download section soon...
Edit: She's downloadable here now.
Video footage from all the recorded bosskills, etc. might end up on youtube at some point. I will link to it here, when it is ready.
Edit: All the videos are up on the SacredWiki channel now, grouped up in this playlist
Edit again: I am not in control of that youtube channel, so I am sorry that the videos are not in the correct order, but I do not have the power to fix that.
I also apologize to anyone who has been mislead by that comment on the "Orc cave Part 2" video: This character only played with CM-Patch not with EE.
And lastly the gear overview video has sadly not been added to the playlist but it is currently available here.
So this concludes my diary, and kinda proves at least for the BFG Sera that my guide may not be the best or fastest way there, but it gets you all the way through niobium without taking unneccessary defensive skills
Even in self found hardcore pure campaign insanity without the utilization of +xp gear, +mf gear ep, the blacksmith skill, bargaining... It is possible without anything.
The cow is happy

It is the only boss in the game that can be repeatedly killed in the same game. There is a cave nearby and popping in and out resets the boss kinda like orc caving only that you farm a boss outside a cave instead of orc champions inside a cave.
That the boss can be respawned via the cave entrance, I would consider a bug. And an especially influential one under my ruleset of only ever playing SP games here, as I would otherwise have a limited amount of bosses to farm. for loot.

I do like making perfect character builds
There is a reason why I never reached level 200. At some point the game gets boring, repetitive and there is almost no more change on the character. As long as something changes I like farming loot etc. In that case it's mostly bosses though, which my rules for this playthrough won't allow. I left out dragons etc. because it takes so long to get to all those bosses and it's not worth it. I left out grinding the forest guardian because I considered that thing a bug and wanted a run as legit as possible. That resulted in Orc cave being the only spot for xp and loot. I spent almost all my time with this character there and I'm burnt out, which is also why I'm now finishing the niobium campaign without a levelling phase.
I usually don't play Sacred 2 all the time.
So what I do like is making a theoretical character, proving my theory in game by satisfyingly demolishing everything with it and then moving on to doing something else
Sometimes I just want to break a certain game mechanic like trying to stack as much mf as possible to see what the loot looks like at that point.
I guess I just like pushing boundaries and seeing things no moo has seen before
-
Your knight versus my wet poodle? I'm sure that could only ever end in a draw
-
Thank you for explaining it, now I finally see the real picture and it's obviously a nice halloween choice for gandalf.
Wow, I always wondered what that "deformed dog" was supposed to be. A perfect example for what my eyesight makes of such things.
The "dog" faces to the bottom right, Gandalf is basically its nose, the balrog is it's right eye and the dark part in the top left corner is where the right ear is.
That happens when you don't have proper colour vision. You see a dog instead of a movie scene...
-
No, it's a chore of countless hours of orc caving interrupted only by running through the campaign, which is also something I don't like
Can't wait for niobium to finally be done...
-
yes, finally someone with some proper damage
But 1 minute wait time till the bs protection statues are gone. What a clunky boss. It's not just that these statues need to be killed, it's how bad the targeting is. No build can properly attack them...
-
I think making those would require a lot of time, multiplayer and a mod that adds female shadow warriors. I think it's easier to just adopt one from the character creation screen.
-
the "machine gun" was introduced in the cm patch. the projectiles and their mechanic are still the same from the base game. The "devs" didn't chose anything in EE, that's purely Flix's insanity. And his choice to switch out the sensible "energy staff weapon firing animation" for this bs is horrible. I don't want to play that character that you basically just described as a wet poodle...
-
There's nothing wrong with being faster, as long as you can safely progress, why not? And you already pointed out all the reasons you were faster. What level did you end silver with?
-
Well, I gotta disappoint you there. As is already in the diary it took me 26 hours for the silver campaign and I did not kill all dragons or sidebosses. You were way faster.
-
Why not make it a bit more complicated. Build a specific command syntax that can be used inside your lobby chat to create the servers. That way someone would have to log in with a Sacred 2 client to make that request which wouldn't prevent the possibility of abuse, but at least severely increase the burden on their end. It would however mean that everyone who wants to use the feature would have to learn the command structure or at least copy the correct command into the lobby chat.
-
How many hours did it take? The game keeps track of this, it's visible in the character selection screen or ingame where the Life, regen, sb, movespeed, kills etc is shown.

Another update of my BFG Sera progress
Parts 1-4 are here:
https://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/72710-an-easy-character-for-a-returning-sacred-2-player/page/4/#comment-7146490
Edit0: there is kinda a part 4.5 explaining the gear:
https://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/72710-an-easy-character-for-a-returning-sacred-2-player/page/5/#comment-7146609
So this is part 5:
Orc caved to level 99 and did a big gear rework. I'm now wearing 8 pieces of the "Revelation of the Seraphim" Set + the gloves from the "virtues of the Seraphim" Set.
The revelation Set bonus gives 1.7% Lifeleech at this point in platinum.
Alltogether my gear gives me 28% mitigation against everything, another 20% from lvl 131 toughness. And still 100% in total phys mitigation through the help of socketed sera runes.
I filled 2 sockets with all channel dot reduction amulets. 2 with all skills and another 2 with +toughness amulets. I also socketed a unique "dragon amulet" giving around 10% extra fire mitigation and fire dot reduction.
There is no secret plan in this mix, it's just what I had. Toughness and all skills(via toughness) give extra mitigation and dot is just the bane of energy shields because flat mitigation won't help there so lowering that is also quite useful. The 10% fire mitigation from the dragon amulet were just to great to pass up.
I still wear one -% chance to evade ring and one regen per hit ring. The amulet I wear is more toughness
The two +allskills items that are now socketed in my gear were pulled out of my "weapon group 4" warding energy bonus set. That is still a Parashu and a Celioth's ward but now they're socketed with Warding Energy runes.
So I still don't really have anything interesting in terms of jewellery.
For the Orc caving, I have another warning: Watch out for Ogres outside the cave. When one of them freezes/slows you, wait till it is over before you enter the cave, otherwise the slow effect will become permanent for the rest of the game. Teleporting, mounting, getting slowed again etc. all don't help remedy this, the only solution I have found is leaving the game and entering a new one. That fixes the problem, so failing to notice an ogre won't brick the character, but it's certainly a thing one would want to avoid.
Edit: finally reached lvl 102. levelling from 101 to 102 took around 40 minutes of pure orccaving. Now that I have reached this level I raised Concentration to 75 to unlock the third buff and put my final leftover point in EW Focus.
So now I have
Armor Lore, Tech Lore and Concentration at 75
Tech Focus and Toughness at character level
EW Focus at 6
Tactics Lore and Ranged Weapons at 1
and 2 empty skill slots
I will continue keeping tech focus and toughness up and put further points into EW Focus to get upgrade points and higher buff levels of battle stance.
I found a higher version of my set shoulders raising my mitigation, thereby allowing me to free another socket and found a unique ring with +defensive skills to slot into that.
I now have 32.5% mitigation from gear +20.7% from toughness and still reach 100% against phys.
Because the dragon amulet I talked about earlier gives me extra toughness against fire, I also chose to switch my relics to magic, ppoison and ice. I found a unique ice relic with tons of ice and the usual tiny bit of poison resist and it just made sense to make this swap.
With the new values turning on Divine protection will also make me fire immune now. And it leaves less than 9% of poison ice and magic damage. Divine protection is quite op here
With all this new defensive and offensive power I think it's time to progress through the rest of the platinum campaign.
Edit2: reached lvl 103 and upgraded battle stance for more damage. Made it to the dryad islands already. So far no problems.
(I also recorded the kills of Octagolamus, Garganthropod and Kral)
Edit3: Platin is done, I reached lvl 104 and overall am at around 68 hours played. With a lot less leveling this campaign only took around 15 hours, a lot less than the previous two.
The Inquisitor's reflect was no longer a problem.
(The guardian fight has been recorded)
Off to Niobium I guess...
Edit4: Got started with niobium airlines and feed the poor. Enough for today
Edit5: Of course I also updated my gear with Niobium runes, got 2 more sockets freed that way and filled one with another newly found dot reduction amulet. Now that I have a "valuable" thing in every item however and I certainly don't have enough jewellery to waste I decided to fill the other free slot with a blacksmith anneal for now.
Edit6: Lvl 105 now and reached my orccaving spot again. My sb would make enemies lvl 120 but the orcs are already lvl 121, so it seems that is their minimum level. Going forward the minimum enemy levels would increase and I'd be more and more underlevelled for the enemies. This would be doubly dangerous as the enemies don't just get stronger because of higher level, but also get a damage bonus for level difference. So I should now Orc cave for more levels and better gear to make this campaign significantly easier. Sadly I really don't feel like hammering my char against the orc cave for countless hours again... I will try to continue a bit further without levelling for now...
(btw. the Gar'Colossus has also been recorded)
Edit7: The minimum levels don't scale as fast as I feared. Reached the swamp now. Enemies are still just lvl 124.
I reached lvl 106 changed my gear a bit, now wearing the +def skills ring instead of regen per hit and socketing another toughness amulet where the ring previously was. Just some minor mitigation improvements...
(I also left evidence of my crimes against the Octagolamus, Xanthiar and the Carnach)
Edit8: reached level 107. Played through to the dryad island. (Recorded the demise of the Garganthropod and Kral. Recorded the epic that was the final fight against the miasma. That thing takes literally more time to kill than all other campaign bosses combined...)
Edit9: Also chose drill and retaliation mods for battle stance.

That sounds interesting
And now Berk is all alone as the skull has been stolen by IdbeholdME and the spider was eaten either by chattius or by Lindor's pet ?
-
same perfectionist here Don't forget to steal your chars gear, what you found in those 10 levels doesn't have to go to waste
-
quite accurate description. They can under certain circumstances decide to summon Temple guardian champions. Those are usually summoned at very high levels far higher level than the traps themselves, so expect big time purple ring ones
-
Enhancement by faaaaar. The flat damage bonus is increased by tech lore so that thing gets like 3k+ dmg at the end... as base on the weapon, so scalable with dex on top. But always summon the bfg in an empty slot! More on this is in my bfg sera guide here: https://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/72710-an-easy-character-for-a-returning-sacred-2-player/page/2/#comment-7146200
There are two thoughts possible here. You either go with penetrate because that mod cannot be replaced by gear. Pierce is however not a very powerful mechanic as Sacred 2 usually lacks the mob density to use it.
So what about accuracy? It is very odd as it gets scaled by tech lore. That gives insanely huge amounts of that valuable stat sparing basically almost any other investment in hitchance.
I choose accuracy for that reason. It's huge it's powerful and pierce is not that good.
-
It is a gift from Gogo and Schot. I love it as well
-
Googling does give results. Something abozut hooking up pc and a phone somehow supposedly works. No clue. Just making sure you checked all options before making decisions
-
Got the original CE buried iin my closet so I understand
would lend you my usb "spinner" but I think the trip would be a bit more expensive than the steam version
-
no clue. Can't even check wiki as no wiki for EE...
That is supposed to work like "deathblow" for attacks. That would mean threshold checked before hit, if below then double damage. Don't know if that mod actually does work at all for spells, but supposedly, if it comes from such a mod it does work and it is even claimed to then stack with deathblow from gear, just like with attacks.
No clue. Never used a debuffing spell. Never felt it worth the time. Though I must admit my bfg sera campaign test run revealed that grand inquisitor as quite a problem
If the mob has ai for that it should be able to recast it's buffs. I'm not sure if it would work on temporary things like the turtle reflect...
