  9. Holy moly Silearth have you never seen Gangs of New York with Mr. Day-Lewis...well... Gangs of New York Scorsese 3 hours of greatness, with Leo Dicaprio impressing me as an actor, an amazing cast including Liam Neeson, Brendan Gleeson, John C Reily, and Cameron Diaz showing a real gritty, grim and unsettling life in civil war era NYC with civil unrest from imigrants, rich/poor class division, racial hatred, gang/mob mentality, corrupt politicians ANDDDDDDD Daniel Day Lewis giving one of my favorite performances of an actor ever as a bloodthirsty, murderous, evil, cunning warlord with one eye who also butchers his own animals. Quote from his character: Bill: I'm forty-seven. Forty-seven years old. You know how I stayed alive this long? Fear. Fearsome acts. A man steals from me, I cut off his hand. If he offends me, I cut out his tongue. If he stands up against me, I cut off his head, stick it on a pike and lift it up for all to see. A spectacle of fearsome acts. That's what maintains the order of things. Fear. Sorry for the length of post but trust me see this movie and see Danny at his absolute best. "Gangs" Day Lewis would eat the heart of "Blood" Day Lewis
  10. Rest Stop Visiting a rest stop yourself and filming it would prolly be better and scarier than this movie...AND it wouldnt have Joey Lawrence in it.
  11. Go fer it as long as you dont do what Prince did and change your name to a sign @stubbie/schot...I'd say its more of a blush then a "whoopsie tee-hee" finger thing
  12. There Will Be Blood Shhh everyone else in the movie shutup while Daniel Day-Lewis shows you how to play an awesome evil badass mo fo
  13. I have to echo the love of Age of Empires(Loved #1, the expansion...#2, the expansion, age of mythology...the expansion, ages 3 and yep both expansions) command and conquers are great. I actually went to install it no too long ago but it was too old for my cpu Also both Diablos are great. Will we ever see a Diablo 3, someone could easily be rakin in millions on that title! And I can never get away from Star Trek birth of the federation and I'll always dust off any of the PS2 Grand Theft's....btw IV is just around the corner *goes to buy a PS3* Also I'm somewhat ashamed ta say I recently re-played Final Fantasy 12 again and *cough* logged over *cough* 105 hours Real Old School? Sega Genesis: Streets of Rage series, Golden Axe, and Phantasy Star series for RPG action and nothing beats Mortal Kombat Trilogy for a fighter (Saturn/PS1/n64)

  18. So I have netflix and was looking around for a movie to "watch instantly" and noticed The People Under the Stairs...a cult classic I loved from a long while ago. Watched it just now and it's still as good as gold. I went to imdb.com to look up the actors in the movie and to my surprise I saw for the girl(now woman) who played Alice: The People Under the Stairs 2 (2008) (announced) .... Alice http://imdb.com/title/tt1042905/ 17 years later and a sequel:) Ho boy! If you haven't seen the original, SEE IT! No, it didnt come close to any academy awards but like I said...cult classic. It circles around "Fool" a young boy growing up in the ghetto, his mother dying of cancer...being evicted from their apartment. What can a boy do? Tag a long with Ving Rhames(way before he was famous) and break into the house of the landlords and try to find what they believe to be millions in gold coins stashed away. This is where things get ugly, the landlords are a sinister, murderous and creepily sexual brother and sister duo who refer to themselves as mother and father and keep their unwanted children stashed in the cellar. They have a daughter, Alice, who's abused but good natured and willing to help the good guys. Add to this the father running around in a leather bondage outfit with a shotgun trying to catch one of the children in the walls and you have yourself a Wes Craven(nightmare on elm street/scream trilogy, etc) masterpiece. Please tell me someone here at darkmatters can back me up so I dont look like a complete freak Anywho I know an imdb "announced" movie doesnt mean there's a green light but I got a lil excited

    I Am Legend

You'll never convince an actor(dont know if I ever established thats what I went to school for and am living in NYC for) that cpu generated zombies is better than the real deal...aftre all wouldnt u rather see me as the lead zombie opposite Will Smith?

    I Am Legend

Disappointing...BIG TIME! This to me felt like a big Hollywood rip-off of 28 days(which I loved) Take the idea of some bacteria/virus infiltrating the population and make people into a weird rage-filled killing machine. Legend couldnt pull it off though...im sorry perhaps cuz im an actor myself but I just cannot swallow an actor acting to nothing. The entire movie was cpu generated other than will and the dog. Background, animals, zombies, explosions. C'mon why not just make it another polar express and not show any real actors? Couldnt we have made the lead zombie a real person? Was Will too expensive...they could only have him, a few no names and then cpu generated bad guys? Did I mention the scene where the lion attacks the deer is laughable? One day in the not too distant future people will look back at this movie with disgust for the special effects(kinda like the Wizard of Oz....oh look the trap door) We are not at the level where cpu generated graphics look real enough that you can have living creatures be represented by them, it just looks stupid. I know it costs more but dont sacrifice the entire movie and cut huge corners. *Gets on soap box* Back in my day if you wanted to blow up cars you had some guy put dynamite in the cars and boom...in my day you put extensive makeup on a guy to make him look scary...you gave a real lion a real piece of meat and shot that footage. SPOILER(what bothered me the most): *Gets off soap box*
  21. Thats good ta see, I hate when a regular dvd has a barely visible(u cant even tell if its there) scratch and then u miss a chunk of movie
