  1. I can't believe my eye... simply omg. But sadly mods like this are not allow over battle.net.
  2. Did you say bug gogo? Shame on you... eh I mean have fun with it.
  3. A great topic. I dunno about others, but I exercise to eat. Well I will talk about Granny instead though. (Let's just say my mom has been a full time teacher with zero cooking ability) I have said somewhere before that my father side of heritage is South and my mother side is North, so naturally I managed to enjoy a mix of two traditional styles of Chinese. For those who cares to know: Shandong & Cantonese. Cantonese should be familiar, 70+% of western Chinese food falls in this style (or a mutant from it ). The same can't be said about Shandong. Of all the western cities I have visited (plenty but not many, granted), I have failed to find one true dish from it. Kinda sad... you can find Jing and Shanghai easily, and these two are not one of the old eights. (Btw, those Jing and Shanghai that I tried, many awarded and acclaimed by western magazines, were not true to the style they claim to be. The food was good, but I felt very badly about this. It is still fraud no matter how you look at it. Don't trust a western Chinese restaurant is the conclusion I made ) But I'm off topic, the dish I wanted to say is a kind of plain dumpling. It is a Northern recipe among commoner, and each Chinese new year we used to gather and make it. Following the tradition, so to speak. We stopped because of granny's age nowadays and it is the one dish I truly missed. The dumpling itself has no sharp flavor, but it is comfortable to the stomach. In fact, it is both the rice and the course. While the recipe is important, the key is still the skin, and there is no shortcut to it but polished skill. I think it is a really important feature that is ignored in modern Chinese (and not just Chinese). Food that is comfortable, hearty, and healthy.
  4. Firefly is one of my all time favorites. I don't like Serenity as the show's ender. But I suppose there is indeed no use to cry over spoiled milk.
  5. Good show? What's it about?

    Bak Chang

Lol so I suppose there really isn't a real translation. Its not spicy. Sweet or salty mainly, a bit chewy with a mixed tasted of the ingredient. They are indeed warped with leafs, three or four depending on the width, all natural so to speak. Definitely one of the healthier Chinese food with thousand years of history.
  7. Yugioh eh? Funny I don't see you as the type to like this kind of cartoon. I have a weird feeling that perhaps your kid got you in on it. Fess up? I didn't own a deck myself but a nephew is so into it that I'm constantly granted the privilege of borrowing a deck to play, one "so" powerful that I don't know what to do with it. Gratz.
  8. Duan Wu festival is coming, and like what would happen every year, we have way too many 粽 of all kinds. Really wish I could share it with everyone. Now, my thread title is weird right? The thing is I cannot find a satisfying translation. Most English sources say (Chinese) dumpling. I mean, that just won't do, there are more than 50 kinds of common Chinese dumplings, uncountable if you look hard enough. So help me, what is this? Anyhow, they should be selling in your local Chinese market, and now is the best time of the year to try them. I like the salty meat style best (the style from my father side), the Northern bean-filled style second (the style from my mother side). Btw, those duck egg/dried oyster/five nuts mix varieties are not for weak stomach, trust me.
  9. So what's the verdict on it Gogo? Or perhaps they are still in the fridge?
  10. This time I will wait, I can't bare to see the story changed in major ways again, however good the animation. I still hope for the best, honoring the original w/o killing the suspense.
  11. I agree with Timo on this, this is a little bit beyond my understanding.
  12. Gogo hitting 10000 posts is unrelated to anything, I firmly believe. Afterall, if you include all of gogo's test accounts, post counts have long since impossible, as katran mentioned .
  13. I think they only grow in moist area, and indeed you only find them fresh for a short while. I found them too bitter and rarely buy them, but they are needed for Bibimbap, which I really really like. But do cook them thoroughly like wiki said. They are kinda like pork, don't eat them raw.
  14. I could think of a couple, but this came to me first. Elaine Paige - "I Dreamed A Dream"
  15. oh mine, someone stills care. I am off from Sacred for a long while, but my record did not seem to indicate that GM has changed. I could have missed it, true enough. I couldn't find it is a possibility. Although its true that both formula suffer from rounding errors still, it would be fair to say that the "true" secret is yet to be discovered. Btw the display ingame is rounded too and off a bit for long duration CA, so really if its close enough I didn't bother to rewrite the whole thing. Glad that someone is still out there. and you seem to have it closer that much I surrender.
  16. FMA ! Definitely watching, though it is so far a remake only. And again they did not follow the original story. All in all, a remake done right for sure. Drawing style improved in a suitable and enhancing way. (Unlike DBZ remake, which is just a sight repatched old DMZ, same everything that cramped into half of original size ) If you are new to FMA, all the better to start now.
  17. Oh it ended, like really ended. While it didn't disappoint, I still think it should have been better. It feels as if it ended like this in order to allure to a new show, a method of hard selling I really loathe. If you create another great show, it will attract your fans just fine. Too pushy I think. But yeah I will probably watch the new show too. Hope its actually good, and not ended up a huge smoke screen with no content.
  18. I dislike monitor, it feels like I'm watching too much. Which I'm. "Blood+" is good, although the drawing style is too bleak. I believe it could have had better rating if Saya is more stunning. Same with many of the minor characters. The story is actually good enough to go more than 50 episodes. But then, the rating might not have gone that bad if its not put against "Major", which isn't good enough no matter how you look at it. There are plenty of baseball animes far superior than "Major", I'm so surprise the fifth season has begun, still with stable rating. For god sake, the major character has only fastball, with which isn't that fast to begin. Now at least he learned a bit folk. Really, if pros only know this much, nobody should watch baseball at all. And Goro Honda has gone international... give me a break already. I suppose its true that with baseball anything goes in Japan.
  19. I WILL NOT see it, I can't afford to ruin the DBZ that I have known. What are they thinking?... Don't touch an original if you cannot be sure that you can raise above it, as the saying goes.
  20. (Wallpaper, no idea if its official) My gosh, this one rings up my memory instantly, esp. the ending theme. A perfect example of BONES' work. I love CLAMP more, but BONES has certainly been great to me. I could not explain the world of Wolf's Rain w/o spoiling the story, so I will just say this. Excellent story, well woven continuity. On the surface, its about the journey of endangered wolfs who take human form, but the deeper individual plots eventually mainstreamed into one wholesome purpose. The peek of the story is effectively the ending (although some might not agree with me), which is a paradox on its own. The ending is neither resolved nor unexplained, leaving it largely to the thinking of the audiences. It certainly has left a impression in my mind. Wolf's Rain has gore and may not be suitable for children, but it definitely does not focus on violent, but more of a struggle for survival and future. Highly recommended.
  21. Hiya all, how have you been? http://www.alteil.com Somebody recommended an online card game a week ago, and by now I really do think its worthwhile. Originally I thought, not another money sucker, fun or not. This really isn't one of them, much to my surprise. Let me explain. Alteil is similar in many ways to other trading card games, but uniquely different in the following ways that make it fairs to all: 1)There is NO way to "trade" your cards. Instead, unwanted cards are "recycled" for Gran, one of the two alteil money, according to the rarity of a card (Except your starter cards). Gran can then be used to get new cards. And you cannot get a given card, boosters are random. The only specific pack is EX, 400 gran per one. Recycle value: *=5 gran, **=10 gran, ***=30 gran, ****=150 gran, *****=300 gran, EX Varies 2)This Gran can be purchased with real money, BUT it is more than available to free players. First, 10 gran minimum is given weekly to all who played during the week, and more if you have a good winning ratio. Second, the mini-game “Mirage Master” give out gran for your first finish daily (its a card flipping memory game). 10 gran daily, more if you have excellent memory and are lucky (I say lucky because you are given no extra try for the hardest levels). 3)Card lottery: For 10 gran you get a random card. And all rarity except "EX" can be gotten. So yes, you get at least one new card daily w/o even dueling anyone, not including your weekly gran. So if you get a three stars, you can recycle it for three more tries, and so on. 4)Treasure Battles: Before you duel, you may see a random card, and the winner of the duel gets it. I got a three stars that way yesterday. 5)Random battles: All ranking battles are random, so there is little room for cheating. Also, Winning battles give you "Fight Money (FM)", the second game money, not Gran. Given that the two money are not exchangeable and FM cannot be used to get card (at least not directly and w/o an insane amount), it eliminates the bad cycle you see in other card games where rich players win a lot and get even better cards and then win still more. Now, the gameplay is important too right? Agree, and I promise you its as good as, if not better than, all the other popular card games. Its hard to put it in words, but starter cards are not weak, and you need them even after you get a ton of fancy cards. You can and do win with starter only if you play it right, even against players with fancy cards you can only drool onto. Of course, this game is still in development and new things will come, but fair play for one should stay. I say it because the English alteil is developed from the Japanese version, and fair play remained over there. There isn't a way to distinguish between free and support player, and supporting the game doesn't give you advantage except faster deck building and variety. Oh and one more thing. Given the battle system, you can have more than one account if you don't log in more than one or interact between them. Meaning you can have one for each of the four colors. Some words about the starters. This is what I heard or learned. Of the four starters, -The Lawtia (purple) is considered to be slightly underpowered (I don't feel it myself and I don't have one). Must know how to use night. Battletime: Morning, Day, and Night. -Falkow (blue) is really complicated and rely heavily on combo, mega powerful but any mistake cost you the duel. I lost 10 battles before I barely get the hang of it and the game. -Refess (yellow/gold) is generally low in AGI, but solid in fighting. Hold the front and should win. -Gowen (red) is easiest to learn if you ask me, hit fast and hit hard. It has "rank up", you will get it right away when you learn to play. Hope to see you there. http://www.alteil.com
  22. Vampire Knight anime is on season 2 and still going. Very well done, some differences surly but on the whole quite good. The music is awesome.
