Flooxim 50 Posted December 24, 2009 I decided to post this here instead of in the General Discussion, because this is more a technical question. When I opened Sacred 2 earlier today I noticed this (where the red spot on the image is) : It says "Online Activation Disabled". This sounds kind of scary. What I'm wondering is : Does anyone know what this is supposed to mean concerning the install/uninstall of the game? and Does anyone of you have the same message when you open your game? Max P.S. Sorry if this topic "worries" people right before Christmas. It was not my intention.

All 3 of the PC's in my house say the same thing. 2 are original plus Ice and Blood installs and one the Gold install. I don't think it is anything to worry about. if you had installed a trial version, it may say something different. Did anything change recently or is this just the first time you noticed.

Schot 424 Posted December 24, 2009 I had that happen to me today as well but only once. On the next several attempts I was able to start up Sacred 2 but when I tried to get on Closed Net the screen just said "Connecting" for like ever. After many many tries I could finally log into Closed Net. That problem was about 5 hours ago from this post time stamp. I just tried now and everything seems to be back to normal. Server must have been in the middle of a long brain fart. ^^ P.s. Did you change your Sacred 2 shortcut icon at all? Edit: Disregard that while I go and have my head checked! Completely missed the point. Doh!

Huh? hit the console button from the game and I think that line about online activation disabled is on every bodies game. and Max didn't say he have any problems. just that he noticed this in the console boot screen and wondered what it was.
Schot 424 Posted December 24, 2009 Whoops! Thanx for clearing that up loco. I jumped to a bit of a conclusion here, haha. I think my own strange run in with Sacred 2 not wanting to run kinda blurred the point Max was making. Silly me!

It might have appeared when we all installed patch 2.65.1. And no, I didn't change my shortcut, didn't install any mods (Before Ice and Blood, I remember having used a tool that was changing the game font 3 or 4 times, but I think that didn't count), or modified the game in any way. Maybe someone know something about this that we don't on the German SIF. Max
Woody 24 Posted December 24, 2009 Hey, This bug appeared with 2.64 Ice and Blood... it's seems to be SecuROM bug, but I don't know more about that. Even when the game is not activated, it appear. Never had problems with that...
Flooxim 50 Author Posted December 24, 2009 I've been thinking about this while trying to sleep last night....maybe it's because the patch 2.65.1 is indeed the last patch and Deep Silver told SecuROM to stop supporting Sacred 2 in a near future. So it probably means that we will soon won't need to activate/revoke the game Online, that the game will always accept the cd-key when installing the game. That's why it would say "Online Activation Disabled". Max
