Pure Caster PVP Dryad Guide

About The Guide

Ok guys, this is not your typical "VD runs in the Desert" type of Dryad....As the name of the guide says, it's geared for PVP just the same as my Shadow Warrior guide was! This Dryad as the title says as well is pretty much a Caster Type Dryad that relies on Status Effects to kill! Like my Shadow Warrior Guide this character is geared for the high level advanced players and is unfortunately sort of a Console Specific Build! Anyway, Let's get started.......

Skills

Note: Numbers at the end are the corresponding levels each skill should be at by level 200 so assign your points accordingly!

Deity = Forens - So in case your getting owned, you can reflect all attacks!

Level 02 Skill = Concentration.pngConcentration - Simply to reduce regen times and have 2 Buffs on...Assign 4 points for level 5 skill (75)

Level 03 Skill = Sword Weapons.pngSword Weapons - To unlock weapon based modifiers and better use of the weapon (84)

Level 05 Skill = Ancient Magic.pngAncient Magic - For more beastly Combat Arts, period (75)

Level 08 Skill = Shield Lore.pngShield Lore - For better use of shields and to unlock Armor Lore and Pacifism (75)

Level 12 Skill = Cabalistic Voodoo Focus.pngCabalistic Voodoo Focus - For mod points and reduced regen times (126)

Level 18 Skill = Tactics Lore.pngTactics Lore - For mod points and more weapon damage (100)

Level 25 Skill = Nature Weaver Focus.pngNature Weaver Focus - For mod points and reduced regen times (126)

Level 35 Skill = Armor Lore.pngArmor Lore - For better use of armor and reduced regen penalty (75)

Level 50 Skill = Capricious Hunter Focus.pngCapricious Hunter Focus - For mod points and reduced regen times (100)

Level 65 Skill = Pacifism.pngPacifism - For reduced incoming player damage (75)

Attribute Points

This is pretty straight forward, assign them this way:

Vitality.pngVitality --- %40 of your points (That's roughly 160 points) seeing as how my skills don't cover HP!

Intelligence.pngIntelligence --- %25 of your points (That's roughly 100 points) For the knockdown spell power you need!

Willpower.pngWillpower --- %25 of your points (That's roughly 100 points) For the spell resistance you need!

Stamina.pngStamina --- %10 of your points (That's roughly 40 points) For reduced spell regen times!

Combos and Buffs

Buffs, there's only really 1 I'd recommend you use but you can use both the following buffs if you want:

Ancient Bark.pngAncient Bark ---->> Sinister Predator.pngSinister Predator

Combos are as follows and stated in the order that you should slot them:

Darting Assault.pngDarting Assault + Ravaged Impact.pngRavaged Impact

Combat Art Mod Points

Capricious Hunter.pngCapricious Hunter

Ravaged Impact.pngRavaged Impact

Bronze - Perforate = Chance for open wound

It's all about the Secondary Status Effects and that's why you take this mod!

silver - Breach = Adds chance to disregard arrmor

Bypassing the armor allows you to inflict the full damage without the mitigation so it's a great mod to take if you have the intent of killing something!

Gold - Blast = Chance to cause explosion

Take this instead of the extra projectile because you're simply not using a ranged weapon and I'd also assume that this would slightly increase damage output!

Darting Assault.pngDarting Assault

Bronze - Edged = Increases damage output

Having extra damage is always good if you intend on killing stuff and if you want your open wounds and deadly wounds to do more damage!

Silver - Wounding = Chance for open wound

Once again it's good to have those secondary status effects especially when this attack is in a combo with another attack that has wounding effects as well because the effects will stack which is great for you and bad for your enemy!

Gold - Rotate = The attack is directed at all opponents around you

Great because it basically makes it a more effective melee area attack and why waste the mod to get another projectile when you don't use ranged weapons?!

Dust Devil.pngDust Devil

Bronze - Concealment = Increases evade chance inside cloud

Take this one so you have a slim chance of getting hit when activating this spell which in turn means you survive better!

Silver - Spell Shield = Light protection from hostile spells

This is great cause you are pratically invincible once you activate this temporary spell for the time that it's active!

Gold - Sanding = Damages opponent's inside cloud

This one's a good choice because not only are you able to remain healthy once you activate this spell, you also give your opponets damage which basically means they won't want to get any where near you once this spell's active!

Sinister Predator.pngSinister Predator

Bronze - Eagle Eye = Increases critical hit chance

This is good for a buff because buffs always remain active and having this stat by your side is great because when you do pull off that critical hit, it might just kill your enemy!

Silver - Marked Shot = Adds "Chance that Opponent's Cannot Evade Attacks"

This is good because it works with melee weapons as well and it's good to be able to hit your opponent!

Gold - Unflinching = Reduces opponent's chance of reflecting ranged damage

It's good to have but for our build we don't need it but we also don't need the other mod so it really doesn't matter!

Cabalistic Voodoo.pngCabalistic Voodoo

Twisted Torment.pngTwisted Torment

You could put this Combat Art in a combo with Black Curse if you wanted to....

Bronze - Encumber = Further decreases enemy movement speed

Thsi is the obvious choice because who needs shrunken heads in PVP?!

Silver - Tear = Increases DoT

It's all about the Secondary Status effects! In this case this one is Magic!

Gold - Ravage = Increases damage frequency

This one's a good choice because you can inflict more DPS with this Mod!

Viperish Disease.pngViperish Disease -- This will be your primary attack!

Bronze - Gangrene = Targets do not need to be as severely injured before damage increases

This is like deathblow, it is the obvious choice for PVP because you want to inflict damage fast!

Silver - Transmission = Increases chance to transmit with no shrunken head equipped

This has alway been the number one choice mainly because it is very effective but in our case it's not really necessary but take it anyway!

Gold - Gouge = Chance to inflict Deep Wound on first target

This combined with Gangrene is what gives you your main killing power with this spell! Without this mod your enemy can just gulp HP potions and survive but with this mod he'll have to gulp alot of HP potions to survive Gangrene and even with that, the Deep Wounds after a short time will cause him just to fall over dead because it decreases his base HP Value with each subsequent hit of this spell!

Black Curse.pngBlack Curse

Bronze - Porous = Decreases opponent's physical damage resistance

This is a good choice because it is basically the stat "Opponent's Armor: Physical" -X% which in turn if you cast this spell about 4 or 5 times, it should allow you to kill your enemy quicker with Deep Wounds which is very good!

Silver - Elongate = Increases duration of spell

Good choice because it keeps your enemy weaker for longer which as I said before, it allows you to kill 'em quicker!

Gold - Dispel = Deactivates target's permanent beneficial spells

This debuffs your enemy completely which is very handy for fighting classes like Shadow Warrior who pretty much rely on buffs to survive!

Malicious Totem.pngMalicious Totem

Bronze - Solid = Increases duration

This is great because it allow the totem more time to do its job! (If you're wondering what 'do its job' means, it means "kill stuff"!)

Silver - Venemous = Increases poison damage

Good choice because it all about Inflicting many Status Effects at once!

Gold - Rapid Fire = Increses totem's fire rate

Another good choice because more DPS means DEATH for your enemy which is good for you!

Nature Weaver.pngNature Weaver

Tangled Vine.pngTangled Vine

Bronze - Sprawl = Increases duration

This one is our main choice because we want to keep the enemy locked down for awhile while we kill them with VD!

Silver - Singe = Roots inflict fire damage

Good choice because it allows for you to inflict even more Secondary Status Effects at once!

Gold - Encroach = Increases range

This one only because the critical hit chance does not increase with each Combat Art level!

Goldenglade Touch.pngGoldenglade Touch

Bronze - Flow = Increases HP regen rate

In turn this makes you very durable for the brief period that this spell is active because as I mentioned in my other guide HP regen rate is about the only way to offset Deep Wounds which makes this mod with this spell invaluable!

Silver - Persevere = Increases Willpower

This is a great choice as well for this spell because yet again this Mod with this spell makes you like a god for the brief time it's active!

Gold - Diligence = Increases duration

Ah, you can be a god like character for a longer period of time! Great idea so why not?!

Acute Mind.pngAcute Mind

Bronze - Insight = Additionally increases intelligence

This mod increasing your intelligence further in turn helps you do more damage with Combat Arts for a brief time which is good for killing with a casting based toon!

Silver - Decreases impairments and wounds

Great choice because it gives you "Detrimental Magic Effects" -X% which helps you temporarily kill off your deep wounds letting you survive longer!

Gold - Celerity = Increases attack and cast speed

An alright choice because there's nothing better to pick! It increases your casting speed though so why complain?!

Ancient Bark.pngAncient Bark

Bronze - Rugged = Increses all armor values

Good choice because it helps you become a beastly damage mitigator there by helping you survive longer!

Silver - Divert = Chance to divert close combat damage back to attacker

This is Chance to Reflect Close Combat which is very good for helping you survive seeing as how you can't reflect much else!

Gold - Invigorate = Improved healing

This is more HP regeneration rate which helps you offset Deep Wounds so why argue?! It helps you survive!

Equipment

Ok guys, besides the closing we're at the end! For equipment I'm going to tell you everything you need to know but the equipment part is pretty much console user specific! Let's start with what Armor to use....You want to use set pieces and the following that you want to use are: Tendils of Time Shoulders & Helm, Eternal Flame Chest & Belt, Meho's Sun Bracers & Legs, and lastly Daerwain's Revenge Boots! Why these pieces? Because you want to maximize your sockets! Weapons: You want to use Romuil's Tear and you want to take Sword Weapons at which point! Shields: Console users, Glacial Defender and PC users, Kira's Wall! That's it for what Weapons and Armor to use.....Now, what to Socket: You have 19 Sockets once again....In the Bronze Sockets which there's 2, just put Blacksmith Arts....In the 9 silver sockets which includes weapon and armor you want to use....1 Haldorian's Signets, 2 Bands of Dominion, 2 Kybele's Tears 1 Nyarlathotep's Creeping Madness, 1 Ring of Twines, 1 Second Ring and 1 Randomly Bargained Deathblow ring! For the 8 Gold Sockets which also includes Weapon, Armor and now the Shield you want to use....2 Vedan's Nemesis', 2 Wings of Death, 2 Artamark's Stars, 1 Manadth's Fetish and 1 Lord Wayne's Wild Rage! For the Gray Material Slot on your Weapon use like a %60 Ice Crystal because your Combat Arts already cover all other types of damage! For Shrunken Head use whatever you want and your last few rings and ammy's you want to equip, Ring of Twines and 2 Band of the Forests just for Knockback! Then for ammy's you want whatever you feel you need more of or whatever you think will work, but just as a recommendation, try Gems of Life....Anyway, that's it for gear.....

Closing

And finally guys, this guide is done....I'm not sure if I'll hold up to my word with the 3 other guides but I hope you guys found this guide very useful or as useful as my Shadow Warrior Guide....Anyway guys, Good Luck in PVP once again! Guru Out.... :gun2:
