nygyg 0 Share Posted May 20, 2011 Ok so I got a new pc last weekend. Grabbed a copy of fallen angel, patched it to 2.40 and it has been playing perfect. This morning I installed the 2.43 patch and now the game crashes in less than 5 minutes. Has anyone had this problem and know of an easy fix, I'm not looking forward to having to uninstall, clean the registry and then spend a couple of hours reinstalling. OS is windows 7, amd cpu and ati graphics card. Like I said the game has ran perfect for the last week patched to 2.40 but is useless now that I've patched it to 2.43. Link to comment
Stormwing 40 Share Posted May 20, 2011 Unfortunatelly it will crash after patching to 2.43. Isn't fully compatible with Win 7. Happened for me too before getting the Ice & Blood expansion. If getting expansion isn't an option you can work it in compatibility mode with XP. Right click the shortcut and check compatibility mode with XP SP 3 under compatibility-tab. Should run just fine after that. Although it might sap a bit of performance on some systems. Though if you have good system, then it's really not an issue. Link to comment

Actually, in Windows 7 (and Vista too), even if you're running as an admin level account, you still don't have full admin rights to everything. Just a slight difference. The privelege level is escalated - but not wide open - which is a good thing actually. Link to comment

nygyg 0 Author Share Posted May 25, 2011 Just a little update, the game has been working great since I reinstalled it and just patched it to 2.40. It's a little rough going for me tho as I'm still trying to get used to the pc controls, I got spoiled playing with the ps3 controller all this time. Link to comment
