1) Quest 'Nightmares' is bugged. After killing the ghosts and accepting the quest 'Aktion weiße Weste' (couldn't find the english translation), the quest 'Nightmares' instantly failes.

Alrighty-I think this is the "find the employees" thingie. Occasionally,I will come across a NPC with a blue circle on my map-kinda like the Seph class quest markers but not related to that quest. If I talk to the guy/gal, my game will crash,sometimes almost instantly,sometimes a few minutes after. But it ALWAYS crashes at some point. As a fix,I have started recalling back to my last Rezz Stone point (to save my game) after speaking to one of these guys. Kind of worried that the game will croak while I'm saving,though....

I talked to a couple of employees with a couple of different characters and was unable to duplicate this crash. I have no idea what is causing your game to crash slyborg

Yes.. These are probably employees. BUT.. Talking to them now will not count until after you officially start the quest. That is, you have to go down to the Jungle area, go into the cave down on the east end, flip the switch, then go back to Teardrop Hamlet, and then go up through the T-Energy bogs on the east side of Bluestone Lake and visit the Ascaron Offices. From there you need to talk to the NPC just inside the office entrance and get the quest. THEN you have to go back to the begining and talk to the NPCs with the ! marks overhead. This will send 'em on their way to the office.

Thanks for the info. Maybe NOT having the quest is the problem? As a update,the recall to rezz point SO FAR has kept the CTD beast at bay. I think I need a bigger chair and whip,though.

I'm glad that is working for you slyborg. As I said, I tried to duplicate the crash in my game and so far have been unable to do so. I do not have the Epic Office Quest started yet in either of the two games I tried to duplicate this in. Maybe it is some kind of random glitch that doesn't happen to everyone?

Well... Talking to them before you actually get the quest should NOT be causing a CTD. At worst, they should tell you some useless factoid about swamp toads, or how they can't help you and that should be the end of it. 5 seconds of your life wasted.

Or did I not patch correctly? I went all official patches before applying the CM.That is-US 2.44 to Ice/Blood expansion to both 2.65 patches and THEN the community patch.

From what I understand, the U.S. version is not compatible with Ice and Blood and the CM Patch. You need the UK version and to patch that up to latest.

Came across a way to run the US maingame and the UK expansion-posted over on the international Sacred forums. It seems to work fine-the NPC crash is my only real difficulty with the game and recalling to my rezz point (to save the game) seems to be working out pretty well. I DO wonder if the launcher would work with this set-up-having the game refreshed every so often might even clear that up.

edit: Just to say,in case y'all were curious-having actually had a chance to play the PC version of this game,there's no way I would go back to the PS-3 version now. It looks too danged good,plays well and I have done several quests already that wern't in either the PS3 or US PC versions. If it wants to crash every now and again,it's worth it! :thumbsup:

slyborg: Just my two cents, but I've yet to see a non-crashing Sacred 2 install. Using the orthodox UK Fallen Angel + Ice and Blood combo with CM and it still randomly crashes.

There seems to be some (maybe) unrepairable memory leaks and such, but it still is worth it.

By the way, not really the right place to ask, but anyway. It seems to me that my installation tends to crash more frequently with 32-bit OS. Just reinstalled it and noticed. It was somewhat more stabile when I ran a 64-bit Win 7 Ultimate.

Sacred 2 Launcher, its in German for install, has anyone got a translated version? I am also having trouble installing the 2.64.0 to 2.65.1 patch, says it is incompatable with my version of ice and blood...

As far as the patch goes,first thing that leaps (or staggers really-it's early here) is: does the patch match your game's region? Also,did you mod your game in any way? I think either of those makes the patch act cranky.

I had to get up and knock out a chore quickly though...and didn't bookmark the link. Now I can't find it (sheesh). Anyhoo,try the international Sacred forum-I think they have some advice there.

What are the dev's opinions on removing the caption/border/titlebar when playing sacred 2 in windowed mode?

It seems to be quite difficult, though not impossible to do "from outside", but should be fairly easy with access to the code (as far as I can judge it).

Sacred2 Launcher only makes the registry entries visible. Sacred2 Version Check would perform a md5-check of all your files (as the patcher does), but I don't have a md5-listing of a working en_UK installation.

Look for a file called "Sacred 2 - Ice & Blood Patch Log.txt" in your temp folder and post it.

Which files / folders in which .pak files would I have to remove (or rather, replace with the vanilla files) in order to get the "vanilla ice & blood" UI back? (the blue more transparent backgrounds, and buttons etc)

I dont mind if it has the side-effect of the quest log improvements being removed, I just really really want the old standard UI back

Dont require instructions, just a list of the files responsible for the UI reskin. Thanks!

Btw, happened to stumble upon an interesting mace named Bugslayer. Since I've never seen one, I was a bit riddled, as the color was same with legendaries. Compared it with Stradal's Hammer I happened to get the other day. Btw, that was my first ever non-quest legendary (Joy!)

So, the CM-changelog suggests it is unique (Bugslayer, but the color's same as legendaries'. Just wondering.

Btw, happened to stumble upon an interesting mace named Bugslayer. Since I've never seen one, I was a bit riddled, as the color was same with legendaries. Compared it with Stradal's Hammer I happened to get the other day. Btw, that was my first ever non-quest legendary (Joy!)

So, the CM-changelog suggests it is unique (Bugslayer, but the color's same as legendaries'. Just wondering.

Can you post a screenshot of this item so it could be added to the wiki? Most probably it's really a legendary, even though the log lists it as unique. Though maybe it's a bug. Some people reported that they had unlock items drop as legendaries with CM, even though all the unlocks are unique.

It's just the image extension that the forum doesn't like.

Not a bad little item. Could be a handy one for a buff suit, +CA at high level and 2 sockets...dual wield two of those...

Well, anyway, this could mean I'm getting a lucky streak with legendaries. Remembered that I got this little relic from 'Colossus. Sacred relic of Fire, or something like that.

It would seem you moved your Sacred 2 installation to a different folder than you installed it, or sth. changed the paths in the registry, so the patch can't find it. It could also be tha case that you installes with a different OS user profile?

A re-installation of Sacred 2 should resolve your issues.
