essjayehm 58 Posted September 28, 2012 Just thought I would show y'all some of the things I get to enjoy every day... the big mural wall is just outside my front door! And some closeups of the signatures that are on that wall (and the 3 other walls of that building)
gogoblender 3,406 Posted September 29, 2012 massive! Is this payed for by community, or someone just put it up on off hours, under the radar? gogo
essjayehm 58 Author Posted September 29, 2012 Considering that the first pic is 4stories tall (and about 60 feet across)... I'd say it was "planned" . Do not know for sure, as I just moved to London in July. But I appreciate it all the same! There are other "pieces" around town, but this wall is definitely one to show off!
chattius 2,696 Posted September 29, 2012 2 nearby towns have 2 different approaches: Giessen, a 80000 people towm, 30000 of them students was totally destroyed in WW2 and rebuild with a lot of concret walls: they give licenses for certain wallws to graffiti teams for free. Results are like this: Wetzlar. a 50000 people town, inner town is old midage wooden patchwork houses and town didnn't want graffiti and many young criminal have to do social work by overpainting graffiti. Nowadays they allow it at some places and the old inner core of city is graffiti free without overpaining.
