claudius 104 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2013 (edited) Twinked Bargaining Network 200 smith What I accomplished: Defeated Niob difficulty with twinks. I had one recorded death, but it shouldn't have been as I became my doppelganger and lived. What are twinks? I use a shopper network (see dark matters download section) and a level 200 smith. Download the shopper network which includes a level 153 smith. Now you have shoppers of level 2, 5, 30, 60, 100, 160 (I never made it that far). So you buy niob clothes and jewelry with the shoppers. I shopped 6 hours with the 100 shopper trying to find double mitigation (a mastery 75 skill level bonus of armor). I never found double mitigation just single :/ For smiths in the bargaining network download there is a 153 shadow warrior smith. Next download the blank 200 level characters. Transfer the 153 smiths +blackmith and all skills suit to the level 200 and spend the blank skill points on blacksmith. That gives you a blacksmith who can give 60s whets for example. You should dominate silver. Just buy niob clothes and fill sockets with smith arts. That is good till level 15 which opens up sets. In the sets sockets now you need enough smith arts to dominate and then all the rest should be %xp rings and amulets. Alchemy will also help +xp. I had about +100% xp/kill and +40% potion duration which helps before getting alchemy mastery. In rushing platinum difficult end stage areas to go to niob at the time you can wear level 100-106 clothes you stop prioritizing +xp and start making a niob tough battlesuit. I will show my gear at game over so you can see a possible example of successful gear. It is successful because I tested it and beat niob. Maybe you can be better than me by finding better gear or better design. I didn't farm bosses I just ground mobs. About: This Buff And Bash uses 200 levels in buffs from Inquisitors steller buffs. Soul Reaver doesn't work against bosses as souls run out so we use alchemy to bridge that gap so we can hit the boss with troll teeth. We also have 200 level ruthless mutilation for single targets AND definitely for mobs of 3 or more. Rph does that for us. We spec our buffs and gear defensively so that eventually many demons can't scratch us! This build is for real. It slays bosses fast with %Life leach and frenetic fervor, the only combat art that goes over the speed limit. And that is along with a zealous doppelganger who spawns a mirror %life leach sword. So good against bosses. Versus mobs Soul Reaver is a broken powerful buff limiting enemies chance to hit to 5% or less! This build plugs up the defensive holes in the inquisitor Sword or Halberd: I liked the Swager of Sword. Dual wield the problem is that Ruthless Mutilation only hits with 1 weapon afaik. If that's not true then DW would give you more sockets. I was pleased with Two Handed Sword. It helped me get out my frustrations and aggression, ha! God Testa not really important though. Expert Touch yes because the only combat art spam is ruthless mutilation. Attributes 1-50 Strength 51-75 Vitality 2 75+ all willpower Skills Armor (1st to master) Tactics 5 pts Gruesome Inqusition (2nd to master) Sword (3rd to master) Riding 5 pts Alchemy (1st to master) Toughness (1st to master) concentration (4th to master) Astute Supremacy Focus 22 points to mod Nefarious Netherworld focus 14 points to mod Buffs Purifying Chastisement 1st buff Soul Reaver (at first unmodded) for mobs and Zealous Doppelganger (bosses) Reverse Polarity (at level 115ish) both mobs and bosses. Mobs and Bosses Soul Reaver is awesome against mobs. Often a 0% chance to hit me. Zealous Doppelganger spawns with a % life leach weapon if you are carrying that! %Life leach is the best way to kill bosses. <--IMPORTANT Purifying Chastisement: awesome bonus to fire damage (boosts ruthless mutilation), Crits, and most important % mitigation Reverse Polarity: at high levels prismatic reflect Combat Arts used: Ruthless Mutilation Paralyzing Dread Frenetic Fervor You use RM with rph and alternate left clicks (jabs) with right clicks (right hook). The jabs benefit from sword mastery double hit. Combat Arts don't get double hit from sword skill. That means a build using left clicks is a chance to use the sword mastery double hit power. The other two (frenetic furvor and Paralyzing Dread) are used against bosses. I found frenetic fervor helped me jump start the chain of kills even against mobs. Against turtle champions I needed FF to hit champion turtles faster because even though the tooltip said I had a 150% chance to hit I was still missing them. So FF helped. Sometimes hit Paralyzing dread when testing the waters against new area of the map. Building skill points: First get all of your mod points into Gruesome Inquisition /Tactics with.... Purifying Chastisement, Frenetic Fervor, Ruthless Mutilation Then when you get concentration you start using Soul Reavor unmodded When you get astute you mod up Zealous Doppelganger to a buff and use vs boss when you get Nefarious Netherworld you should mod Soul Reaver. Get your mastery in Armor, Toughness, Alchemy Alchemy closes the gap on bosses for when soul reaver is only for mobs. Troll teeth can get you +400% attack. Talisman give %evasion on bosses. Iron Ore gives physical armor. Alchemy also gives constant mentor potions! This is simply awesome. Armor and toughness give mitigation at level 75. With Purifying Chastisement mitigation you are pretty decent (see below). Mitigation gives great returns; Going from 0-to-25 mitigation you take 1/4 less damage. Going from 25-to-50 you take 1/3 less damage. Going from 50-to-75 mitigation you take 1/2 less damage. And going from 75 to 100 you take infinitely less damage (number divided by zero). This means it has increasing returns as it gets higher. You have mitigation chest/shoulders, toughness, purifying chastisement, and set benefits to only physical mitigation. IMPORTANT--> My mitigation gear at level 118 when I beat Niob: edited purifying chastisements contribution.. 17.7 toughness 9.3 shoulder armor 10.1 chest armor 19.6 purifying chastisement total = 46.6 That's all channel ie physical and all elements Also I had %physical only from 2 set items 46.6 (above) 16.2 Insignia of deference (helm) 11.1 Saraki's belt total = 73.9! Next you finish up modding by taking 1 mod, bronze, in paralyzing dread because it only costs 5 skillpoints. Next you take sword lore and master it which helps attack speed, chance to hit, and adds double hit. As mentioned already you use left clicks as a jab which powers rph to give a ruthless mutilation uppercut or right hook. Next you raise concentration to 75 which allows you to use reverse polarity. Once you gain the mods to give reflect prismatic (ranged, spell, melee) then you make your assault on Niob later stages. YMMV from mine depending on gear. But you can always shop or boss farm gear just you have to be patient. I was lucky to find some of my gear and some I worked hard for despite nothing dropping. Runes: eat 1 rune of: purifying chastisement, soul reaver, zealous doppelganger, reverse polarity, ruthless mutilation, paralyzing dread, and frenetic fervor. You will dominate silver just having those 1 pts and all your niob gear and smith arts. Save runes untill you have gold to trade them in 2 for 1 or 1 for 1. Next eat lots of runes and keep all of those at their combat art without penalty level. You can see the value on your skills menu hovering the tooltip over the relevant focus. Eg. hovering the tooltip over gruesome inquisition skill shows you the combat art level without penalty of purifying chastisement, frenetic fervor, and ruthless mutilation. When you have extra runes mod purifying chastisement and soul reaver to 200. You still keep combat art levels without penalty equal to runes in all other combat arts ie frenetic furvor, zealous doppelganger, Reverse Polarity, Paralyzing dread all at combat art level without penalty. After those buffs (purifying and soul reaver) modify ruthless mutilation to 200. Yes, do it. You are using rph to basically alternate hits/double hits of the left click jab with the right click power punch. You do about 4 times more damage with ruthless mutilation including a huge scaling amount of fire damage. than you do with left clicks. Incidentally the double hit of left clicks has an animation which is sad because the animation wastes time. Next raise reverse polarity by eating runes. I didn't have enough for 200. I didn't know at first to save runes so that's all I accomplished. If the cooldown is too long for ruthless mutilation fix it with rph. I had 13 seconds cooldown at the end but I also had 3.5 rph and 26% half regeneration. Often it would go jab hook jab hook. Against 5 enemies that of course is hook hook hook hook die. Ruthless Mutilation was doing over 8000 which means I needed deathblow a lot. I finished the game with 200 Soul Reaver, Purifying Chastisement, and Ruthless Mutilation. I had 100ish in Reverse Polarity, Paralyzing Dread, Zealous Doppelganger, and Frenetic Furvor. You will need to save eating runes until you can 1 for 2 or 1 for 1... This is easy because your twink network is paying for everything. I didn't even pick up blues and I ctrl clicked to sell. I still ended with 200 million gold. Combat Art Mods and uses Purifying Chastisement: uses: main buff for mitigation which is a main defense strategy (200 runes) bronze: Add fire damage (helps ruthless mutilation which has a mod of fire damage MANDATORY) silver: Adds crit. The other mod only helps if you are using the damage enraged strategy which sucks big time in sacred because you die more often. gold: mitigation. See my section on Building where it talks about the increasing returns of mitigation. The more you get the better it gets. MANDATORY Ruthless Mutilation: Use: hitting multiple enemies and a knockout hit on single enemies (200 runes) bronze: damage silver: stun *I found with a shadow warrior that a mix of % lifeleach and a flat lifeleach acts screwy together stun is good against tanks like green scorpions. You don't use RM against bosses because there is no double hit. gold: fire damage. Fire damage works with purifying chastisement fire mod. More importantly double hit scales for 1 rune read whereas with 200 read (as I do) you get an amount of fire damage almost equal to the physical. It is damage added to the base and not a conversion to fire. MANDATORY Frenetic Fervor Use: boss fights. Also to kick start against mobs before soul reaver takes over %attack/defense (100 runes) bronze: attack speed. This won't matter later, but the casting speed isn't needed against bosses. silver: attack value gold: duration MANDATORY Zealous Doppelganger Use: the only use is that against bosses ZD hits the boss with % lifeleach if you have a % LL weapon equipped on summoning. It really melts the boss fast. Soul reaver relies on harvested souls so it is not good against a boss. Against boss you go purifying chastisement, Zealous Doppelganger (only for boss), and Reverse Polarity (when you master concentration)(100 runes) bronze: +attack/defense MANDATORY silver: Gruesome Inquision ie melee MANDATORY gold: mods to buff I don't know why I like this:) I guess because if a fight is really tough the buff stays longer. A clear example is the guardians not needing me to rest to recast the doppelganger. Reverse Polarity Use: you get this later on in niob. Once I had this modded to silver I ran the campaign to the end (100 runes) bronze: reflect spell silver: reflect melee Soul Reaver Use: this is one of the strongest combat arts in the game. When grinding I usually had a 0-5% chance to be hit! But it doesn't do anything without souls. This is the beauty of alchemy because troll teeth raise my attack. (200 runes) bronze - soul duration... I modded damage and it was tiny damage and regretted. silver - health regeneration.. I also wasn't impressed gold - soul duration Paralyzing Dread Use: debuff boss (100 runes) bronze: reduce opponents attack value I only modded bronze because it only cost 5 skillpoints to open another mod. PD isn't that important because it's only against bosses and I have strong defense already with mitigation and %evasion. Combos: Ruthless Mutilation Frenetic Fervor Paralyzing Dread FF + PD (combo) Defense: armor lore mitigation (see above it is very important) 50% evasion from gear prismatic Reflect from reverse polarity at high levels Soul Reaver (when grinding most monsters chance to hit is 0-5) Talisman trophy and iron ore trophy for evasion and physical armor (alchemy skill) Offense: jab - double hit leftclick attacks hook _ 200 runes in ruthless mutilation Gear: At low levels %xp and potion duration dominates.... Eventually I use a combat suit and you can see my mods below. Sword1: Best sword you shopped or dropped. I found 'excalibur' shoppping. Level 100: +10 skills, 50% deathblow, +12 crit, +12 deadly wound! Sword2: best % life leach sword for boss Helm: insignia of deference % physical mitigation Belt: Saraki's belt %physical mitigation Rings Amulets, Smiths (see my list of mods below that I had. You need 50% evasion and over 50% deathblow just for one) Sleeves: % deathblow shopped Chest: % mitigation shopped Shoulders: ditto Hands: rph (could be Ilgards gloves) Skirt: evasion (evasion should be above 50%, boots/skirt/amulets) Shoes: ditto In silver and gold I had over 100% xp and 50 potion duration not including alchemy: This below is just from gear and does not include skills or buffs. In niob here are most of my mods: Gear Modifiers in Niob xp 18.5 chance to reflect combat arts (not including reverse polarity) 10.3 Chance to half regen combat art 24 mitigation (already discussed above) Damage +264% (yay whets) crit +20% All Skills +32 Offensive skills + 16 +Tactics lore +12 Riding +34 Note: Ok now I will say that riding is a pretty awesome boost to recharges while mounted. It was needed to open alchemy. Deathblow 74.2 !! Armor physical 174% Elements Armor 122.5 edit: 67% spell resistance (and I choose willpower on level ups) Stamina +24 Vitality +31 disgregard armor 9.6% deadly wounds 12.3 - evasion 30.3 chance opponent cannot evade 8.6 open wounds 14.8 my own evasion 51.7 <THIS IS IMPORTANT POINT OF DEFENSE Detrimental effects -27.4 rph 3.5 <THIS IS IMPORTANT attack % 447.8 (yay whets again) Defense % 136.1 (I used evasion/mitigation to get ranged/melee protection rather than anneals) opponents physical armor -9.1% opponents chance to wound, burn, poison etc -15.7 Def +144 Ranged Def 234 Block Close Combat (not including reverse polarity) 11.5 Block Projectiles ("") 13.8 See the stats and it adds up to a tank using a lot of deathblow and rph for offense. That's the design baby! Alchemy: I used mentor pots constantly and finished with over 100 largest size potions. Equals awesome. I also used troll teeth to cover to hit chance against a boss when soul reaver fades out. Also against bosses I used talisman trophies, and iron ore trophies. The talisman raised my evasion from 50 to 60 and evasion has diminishing returns unlike mitigation. Iron ore adds a boatload of physical armor. I probably ate 10-20 of each trophy type that I used. Grinding grounds: 1: at low levels go to the western kobold portal and go up and down the copper peaks 'kobold trails'. I think the portal is named Tyr Lisai? 2: once you can beat the kobolds easily go to sonnenwind and head to the scarabs area of the desert. Scarabs drop good gear with many champions and are easy to kill and not too bad xp. Be careful with scorpions. In niob I was level 104 fighting level 128 'purple' desert monsters! 3: grunwald. IMPORTANT PLACE TO FIND TROPHIES. To the direction of the forest you get humans (talisman trophies) and summoned elementals (iron ore trophy). Towards the wall of the orcs lands you find goblins which are easy relative to xp and drop troll teeth. 4: orcs. Good xp/kill and also troll teeth trophies 5: jungle (normally). I usually run the jungle but my game was crashing a lot there. The lack of stability on windows 7 almost made the game impossible to beat. DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVICE FOR RUNNING ON WIN7? I have 16 RAM and I had to lower settings to medium. Lower than medium didn't help. I probably crashed 2 times an hour. 6: turtle island. Island south of the dryads isle with lots of turtles 7: west coast of dryad island fight plants. Don't take the middle trail because there is a choke point of too many leaping plants that I readlined until I figured out not to take the middle (north to south) trail. I just did this while turtle island was recharging. Edited September 21, 2013 by claudius 3
chattius 2,702 Posted September 16, 2013 Nice (I like alchemy builds), just 2 questions: If you play CM-patch. How about using the sigil set that boosts CA-range? But even without it: Why not using a maelstrom to bundle all the enemies just in front of your sword befor doing a mutalation? The maeistrom would do 2 things: bundle them and damage them. So if you have deathblow, it may be triggered on the first RM already.
claudius 104 Author Posted September 16, 2013 maelstrom is too clunky. I tested it and often it would not activate the second part (Ruthless Mutilation) so without astute supremacy lore it would kind do the tiny damage of Clustering without astute lore, ancient magic, and combat discipline.. I tested it and did not like it. Melee mobs surround me and drop from Ruthless Mutilation without the need to gather them. The spider has a huge surface area. With Clustiering Maelstrom it was more clunky. I didn't use the community patch.
claudius 104 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Also just glancing at my guide at this time... Also don't take dual wield unless you have the unique weapons with %LL. Normally only halberd and 2 handed sword will give this guy %LL. Also the main attack of build (as already in the build) is Ruthless Mutilation from the spider mount and I think only one weapon hits of dual wield.
claudius 104 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Also I did the mitigation calculations wrong !! 17.7 toughness9.3 shoulder armor10.1 chest armor19.6 purifying chastisement TOTAL IS ACTUALLY 56.6 56.6 (above)16.2 Insignia of deference (helm)11.1 Saraki's belttotal = 83.9! If you score double mitigation chest and shoulders you would have 73%all and over 100% physical 1
gogoblender 3,429 Posted April 8, 2015 Thanks for coming back and adding the updates to the build Claudius gogo
