Flix 5,234 Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 Thanks. Luckily I've finished all the combat arts so if worse comes to worst I've still got a mostly release-worthy mod in my hands now. I've updated the first post to better reflect what's finished, what I'm doing now, and what's planned for the future. In terms of Wardust's texture mod, I'm basically going to set up surface.txt to include most of his changes - but not the model swaps. So no Kobold-rats or swapped armor models. On the other hand, people will be able to use all of Wardust's textures if they want (which is like 99% of the mod), and even if they don't use Wardust's mod, I'll include the small handful of custom textures that would be needed (for furry animals, etc.). I don't want to force users to use the texture mod if they don't want to.
King Angel 69 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Will can chose the character or just replace the spell?
Popular Post Ironwill 135 Posted November 5, 2014 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2014 hahahahah Gar'Colossus obeys Inquisitor now,I had bad memories with Abyss Knight's Iron Maiden -> whirldeath in 1.25 seconds 3
Popular Post VAMPIRE 86 Posted November 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2014 Bonsoir Warriors of the Apocalypse.I am very interested in the barbarian and I find fabulous, because I play black warrior. I can not wait to see the paladin because I like melee fighters.DPS for the barbarian and tank for the paladin I guess. Are you going to change the wardust texture mod to make it compatible with the atmosphere of your mod?If you're doing is amazing and will renew play.A big thank you for your courage and patience as it is a colossal work. 2
Knightmare 1 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) Loving the look of the Druid and Necro. The way the summons are all buffs does that mean that they are pernamnet and no need to be re-summoned as they are immortal the same way the Dragon Mages' guardian seems to be? Also with the Necro does that mean you can only have a couple skeletons due only being able o have 2 buffs or have you changed that? Edited November 10, 2014 by Knightmare
Flix 5,234 Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) Loving the look of the Druid and Necro. Also with the Necro does that mean you can only have a couple skeletons due only being able o have 2 buffs or have you changed that? Thank you. After a lot of experimenting, I found that temporary summons just don't work unless they were designed by Ascaron to be that way (Doppelganger, Inexorable Subjugation ghosts, Rallied Souls). And these creatures follow their own unique rules, so I couldn't adapt them for my new summons. Instead I had to adapt the Fire Demon and the Skeleton summons, which requires them to be permanent buffs. Right now the summons that are based on the Skeletons (all the melee summons) only fall unconscious, while those based on the Fire Demon (all those using spells) actually die and have to be re-summoned. There's a max of 4 skeletons and 3 skeletal mages. You can have 1 buff by default, 2 upon learning Concentration and 3 upon mastering Concentration. So the Necromancer would eventually be able to have all possible summons active at once. He would of course have to give up the protection of Bone Armor and Iron Maiden to do so however. Flix 5,234 Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 Well I'm about to go on a short trip to visit family for the Thanksgiving holiday, so the Assassin update will have to wait until I get back. I'll be away until Dec. 1st but I may be able to check the forums on my phone. After the final character reveal, there are lots of other changes to introduce to you, all leading up to the first public release (hopefully) by Christmas.

Yoshio 91 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 As usual great work Flix and as I got to know in another thread also Silver Fox! But I have to admit that, although I loved the Assisn in Diablo, I don't like the Temple Guardin as the "Choosen one" for to "replace" her in Sacred. I know it is not on me to ask that, but would it be a big thing, once this mod is released, to change the Assisn Character for another one? 1

I know it is not on me to ask that, but would it be a big thing, once this mod is released, to change the Assisn Character for another one? I agree. It's hard to picture the lovable slow metal beast as the Assasin from Diablo 2. But there are 7 classes in Diablo 2, and 7 in Sacred 2 I&B. So ether you have to change the PC model completly, or go back the the drawing board. Yoshio, how would you set up the classes then?
Popular Post Flix 5,234 Posted December 9, 2014 Author Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) Well, cyborg assassins aren't exactly unheard of. Terminator anyone? By rights a cybernetic warrior ought to be faster than any meatbag. I can't wait to see how "slow" you find the Shadow Master, or the Assassin w/ Burst of Speed active. Seriously though, I defy anyone to come up with a better arrangement of the 7 characters. The Temple Guardian wasn't the best for the Assassin. Probably the worst actually. But he's the worst fit for every Diablo class. Edited December 9, 2014 by Flix 2
Popular Post Gilberticus 374 Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 I personally like the lineup. The first thought that popped into my head the first time I played the Temple Guardian was "cyber assassin". I can't see the TG being better suited for any other D2 class. It does give me a mild grin to think of the TG trying to fit into Amazon armor, though. 2
Popular Post Yoshio 91 Posted December 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 10, 2014 Aye, I fully agree on that it is a hard one to decide which class should become which class. We do have the Seraphim, the Highelve, the Dryade, the Shadowwarrior, the Dragonmage, the Templeguardian and the Inquisitor. On the other side we do have the Assassin, the Amazon, the Sorceress, the Barbarian, the Paladin, the Necromancer and the Druid. Making the Highelve becomming the Sorceress is, I think a good take. Then having the Seraphim as the Paladin is also a perfect match, I feel. Letting the Shadowwarrior be the Barbarian is, I guess, quite obvious. Also that the Inquisitor will be the Necromancer is, in my opinion, obviously so. Which leaves us now with three more matches to make and a kind of problem as we would have, on the Diablo side, still two female characters to place but from Sacred sides only one more available. Making the Dryade become the Amazon, I guess, isn't a too far stretch. Which would make the Dragonmage and the Tempelguardian remaining. Using the Dragonmage for the Druide is, I feel, a good take on that. What would get us back to the remaining Tempelguardian and the last class which hasn't yet been assigned. But, to be honest, when I iniitially thought of the Assassin, I thought of the Dryade or maybe the Dragonmage but for sure not the Templeguardian. If I would be the one working on this mod, I would completely skip the Tempelguardian and, instead, use the Dryade again with, as far as possible, some skin modifications. That would be my take on that and if it is possible, that is, what I would maybe do, once the mod is released. But, however it will come, I'm honestly dearly looking forward to see it come alive! 3
