Instead drafted into army a classmate was 4 years in the merchant navy as a ship's cook, most on an antartic research vessel. He said if you use normal spicing with herbs there is always one saying it isn't his taste. Doing very spicy food noone will say that it is too hot because of them thinking as machos.

Now he runs a restaurant and cooks mainly with herbs and not chilli, wasabi or similiar,  Most come for his version of horsemeat Sauerbraten. Horsemeat of old working horses is very tough so everyone has a way of marinating it for nearly a week to make it soft.

Ahh, Steve.. i was stumped here for a few seconds not knowing what to type...that dang piece of chocolate cake...  

 

Truffles -> Black Truffle oil chips

they ARE a truetrue!! Brought these for Ammamma two times in a row...the taste profile is unlike anything I've eaten before.it just tastes...tastey ? Ammamma's gone through two bags...and loves to watch Hell's Kitchen while slowly snacking on these...she has Da Powah!!

Black Truffle oil chips -> black pickled walnuts

Each year 30 glasses selfmade

picked very green with still a soft shell, pierce them too the core with needles, lay them in the rivelet for a week (or several weeks n a container where you change water ever half day), put them in glasses wiith a mix of sugar, honey, water and spices, letthem ripe for some weeks....

you can use them like truffles

You can vuy rgwm, but nor really cheap

ahhh, knew it would go that way! many years ago i wanted to open up a store in downtn montreal called *VendoVille* what would it sell> ANYthing vendable...and  i wanted the vending to be supplied by the vendors, I would just rent them space... alas... too much Sacred on my mind and...the years went golden

I know what you mean, Rommel. Sometimes our lives get in the way of our dreams as do our our escapes from the daily grind of life's responsibilities. However, if we are happy, we should never have any regrets. Because happiness is a success which few people ever attain. For often it is a goal that may be easily be overlooked, because we fail to realize that we are in fact contented and satisfied with what we already have. Sometimes happiness just sneaks up on us and we fail to sense it. After all, one does not have to win the lottery to be happy.
