Ran off to meet my Aunti Shanthi after work...she's helping us put together a fresh new wardrove for my almost 100 year old Ammamma... sitting outside on her balcony on a windy street in the city is just delightful

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa... got to Ammamma for dinner tonight after work, laaaaaaate day at work, and got stuck in the metro after for an hour... aieeeeeeeeeeee...there goes the precious weekday time... but...the way she enjoyed those fries and spicy szechuan sauce from Mcd's...

Aaaaand...another dinner, another day after work... she lives in a residence here in the Plateau Montreal... its hard climb up that hill to get to her place, but her smile and satisfaction when we sit down, eat, I steal her desert and we watch Chef Ramsey eat the contestants always makes her squeal... ahhh, peace after work...the luck of a grand son

Ahhahahahha... lol...it looked so good...some sort of crust, with a kind of canned peach jelly thing... shes a consumate sharer, old school style, always asking if we ate something... I guess it makes her feel like shes still *hosting* me as a kid 

Steve, I promise to do moooooore! ... its haircut night tonight, so after work, ill head to east, east montreal, haircut, then instead of taking the Metro Ill walk it for penance  I'll post it up on Strava so you can see the map

My last visit to see Ammamma before taking off to visit mah Mommah down south in Maryland... Got her the chicken fried rice...but this time, dunno..it was missing some of that mass, moist heat you get that rises off the dish when you open up the cover...i'd rate it a 7.5 or maybe even a 6.75 as compared to the last glorious dances with rice I brought for her... she did love eating it though and I couldn't stop kissing her till she squealed and giggled... ahhh, family

Got her internet ablaze.. so enters Chef Ramsay once again... she has ventured forth out from her blanket, couldnt have dinner tonight, were heading up and out to country for the long weekend... well have more pix from the Land of Ammamma post weeeeeeeeeeeeeekend!

Woo Hoo! were back from the weekend, its labor day here today, big holiday, but we had a amazing time up at my cousins place in the country, they have swans, pigs (deeeelish!), chickens and skunks  nefarious things they go after Kandys eggs I think   One of my cousin's wife's friends has an annual pig roast every year, they invite everyone from the area, been doing this for years now, but we decided to try and go this year and loved the folks... lots of foods, desert tables, and they always get a band.. we walked around in our pajamas, I was eaten alive by mosquitoes, my entire head woke up this morning a big boil, but the memories are amazing... Family Forever!!

I was down for about a month off from work, had a stomach surgery oct 2nd and back to work october 30th  and get to be outside again...the fridge got PACKED with food from the family...but today the sky is blue the sun is bright and dang, work feels gooooooooooooooooo!!

this is some pix from the family showing up with food cuz I couldnt really get groceries, and my cousin's wife sent us a HUGE stock of pre-prepped food, no color, starchy and all the joy sucked out of it...mcdonalds...here we cooooooooooooooome!!

Had to send out some Birthday Reminders last night, we chose a Fall, Leaves theme .. Our family is extensive, there's already drama "how come Perri Uncle got an invite and I didn't* *where's my invite* " Who's in Charge*

This all reminds me of a certain birthday party of a certain hobbit. Just make sure there are no rings around her during the party! Who knows what might happen? We wouldn't want her disappearing into the mountains! (My pa is 95 now, not quite there yet, but hopefully he'll make it!)

Lol...she aint going to no mountain we hopes!  I keep making her promise me every day..."ammamma promise me you'll be here tommorrow for me!" And she always promises me   Believe it or not some of my Aunts and uncles are like...leave her be in peace! I'm like... what??   

And then I tell them that I call her late at night and make her make more promises to me while shes half asleep  ... oh, they get so rattled..

they are my irresistible family  

And  Seth your Pa will make it!

We go up on weekends sometimes to hang with my cuz's family up in the country.  Its a good break from city life, and noting beats their endless horizons...easy on the eyes and soul

My cousin's Dad (Uncle Bernard) turned 80 just last week in Sri Lanka... my Auntie Jayanthi has sent out this photo and the family's passing it around.  I found instantly that the photo was a great capture, but it was only when I wrote out my relationship to everyone in that photo that my heart swelled and my connection to my family felt even stronger.

On the right is uncle Pushpa my (now- passed) dad’s brother… Then Auntie Jayanthi my mom’s sister, then at the back Uncle Bernard Goonetilleke who is married to Auntie Jayanthi then along the left coming backwards is Uncle Gnanaraj  the son of my grandmother’s sister, and then auntie Champika his wife ❤️

Cuz's wife Kandy's Birthday coming, we decided to meet up in Old montreal at L'usine Spaghetti (Spaghetti warehouse).  We got hooked on it a few months back when hunting up a place for Mom's visit to Ammamma, and Schot said that he liked this place... what a find.  Check out the decor, unlimited Salad bar, entree, Sangria and BIG deserts for about 50 CAD each... little guys asking if we were gonna come home with them, awwww, heart breaking  Our young, 21 year old Waiter Same had the chops to pull off a great event for picky peeps like us  hes been working there since he was 14 years old...something to do about his parents ...

Nice! Sorry about that picture Gogo, you can delete it, I don't know what got into me, I was completely... What was the word Ric used in his boomstick build? Bonkers? I got Bonkered. I can't send a real one, as I don't even have a mobile phone to make a selfie (damn it I didn't even know how to spell this word "selfie" properly! I've never made one, that's for sure!) I live in a cave, I'm prehistoric Gogo, that's all I can tell or show you.

(And Montreal... Well I don't know too much about it, but I sure know one place: Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on that island in the river! One of my favourite tracks, it's an absolute blaaaaast! I've driven thousands of laps on it in F1 games. Wooohooo the Wall of Champions and everything... I don't know how much you can relate to all this, but this is the best I can give you instead of a selfy selfie. That, the Toronto Raptors and Mr. Air Canada, Vince Carter himself. This my Canada knowledge. But it's still a bit more than you know about Hungary, I bet!)

haaa, all good Sethi, for me that post is lovely ..its you  its a great pic! And your love for raptors and the circuit gilles villeneuve is adorable... That whole week is a big thing here, and lots of fancy folks all show up, i was never so much into racing myself but do love the buzz.

Thank you for posting here honestly and with heart...I know you're going to do draw a sketch and have a random strangow take a pic of it ... muhahhaah

What? Shadowfax not fast enough for you, Gandalf?

Am I into racing? Well, I certainly am. I always do 100% race distance, no assists. And I don't even know how many seasons I've completed in F1 20, at least 30, but could be much more. (It's hard to know as there are only 3 slots to save in driver career and my team too, so you always have to delete the old ones.) I'm a veteran. Now I do F1 24, already 1000 hours in it, but I might just go back to 20 for a while to beat your time I still would need to learn how to record it first though... I'll try!

1:30:525 compared to your 1:35:258. And it's still not nearly as good as I used to do when playing F1 20, these cars feel clumsy to me now. 24 cars are much nimbler in the corners, as they have ground effect (the bottom of the car gets sucked towards the ground to increase downforce, and we only have that since 22.) It was hard for me to get back to it, but still not nearly as hard as your switch, coming from Shadowfax (chieftain of the Mearas, descendant of Felaróf, as we all know...) If we count him as 10 Horsepower, because he was really-really fast, there's still some 990 HP left for you to get accustomed to... I understand your struggles!

(Isn't this wonderful Gogo, how I can turn any topic upside-down in no time? Look how I created a racing thread from the family one! I think you should create a section on this forum called "Section" and a thread in it, called "Thread". That's where I belong!)

That's actually quite impressive, sir.

I ended my racing career shortly after I recorded my video. I found that using a game controller is much to imprecise to properly pilot a Formula 1 race car. I would never attempt to drive an actual car with one. Investing a lot of money for pedals, seat, and a steering wheel in order to make it more realistic just didn't seem fiscally responsible.

I also stopped using Steam altogether since then, as I like to actually own my games, not "rent" them with a temporary license permitting me to play them.

That's probably why I have amassed nearly 200 games at GOG.

Yep, I have a wheel in my cave. Not that expensive originally, but I upgraded it quite a bit. (No seat though.) And I would do much-much worse with a controller than what you did, I hate those things! I could never get used to them. And I bet this time would be laughed at on F1 forums, I'm really not that good. (I used to do Dirt Rally online too, and if I was in the top 2-3000 in a weekly- or monthly challenge, I was happy with it. Now I play these game offline, so I don't even see the impossible times others do.)

Khmmmm.... So we were talking about family, right?
