Guest gogoblender
This is so cool. I have been hunting around these days almost non-stop for new ideas and words to describe what dark matters is. We are currently trying to come up with ideas for logos, slogans, new site names, domain names. lol, lots of time but tons of fun. And the interesting thing that we've come across now is how important words are when regarding the internet. For instance, did you guys know that short words command a price that can easily range in the thousands of dollars american? And that marketers, in their search for all the quickest ways of connecting consumers to products have bought up all the shortest words in the language? Have you ever tried googling anything like...let's say for instance; god.com? jesus.com? stop.com? go.com? I find it fascinating that the shortest words command the highest price, if only because they're so easily remembered and easy to punch into a browser or google. And...an interesting way that marketers have found to exploit this usage of language and what it means (or used to mean! )...is just to find a word that may have as powerful a meaning as possible in an absolute fashion...and then just connect it to their product...no matter how far-fetched any connection to that first powerful word and their product is! lol....ahhhh, marketing.... gotta love it huh gogo Link to comment

It's like...comercialism is redefining language, hahah! and...soon...lol, everone's gonna own everything that we though was free before! lol, could you imagine never bein able to say anthing out loud....cuz it was copyrighted? gogo Link to comment
OuttaTown 0
they are ridiculously expensive due to moral price God.com ? Jesus.com ? etc. Anyways, Churches want them, why ? because it associates with the Church- it could possibly defame them Short words like go.com ? the thing about linguistic is that the more the word is easy to remember the more is due to vowels- for instance DASANI- that's a cool name ! why ? a dental, followed by open back vowels, and an alveolar fricative followed by another open back vowel - its just resonates. Short words such as go, toe - etc. they are composed by a fricatives and plosives- followed by open to close mid vowels- so they are usually easy to remember and sound smoother. it is a matter of physics and phonetics!
