Guest gogoblender Posted June 20, 2006 Im usin the same skin as you...I think that's one of the most beautiful skins I've ever seen ever That guy put in so much work and the depth and polish shows with ever part of the noia skin I use firefox now for almost all my browsing but I just read a few reviews on opera...apparently it's still the fastest browser in the world But...do'nt we have to pay for it? Yeah I got the ogame tool workin in the extension for firefox btw and I also have Faster Firefox... And...I'm now trying to find a way so that I can open up ALL windows as different tabs with one browser open and THEN...instead of control tabbing instantaneously through every single window that I've got open just assign those two buttons to a funcion of my mouse with one of it's so-rarely used buttons that I can finally find a use for. gogo
JonJon 0 Posted June 20, 2006 I'm personally a big fan of ForecastFox and Colorzilla. The first shows local weather and the second gives you an eyedropper tool to tell the RGB color of whatever pages you're on without all the hastle of taking a screenshot.
Master of the Nuts 0 Posted June 20, 2006 I use forecastfox and also adblock and the adblock auto updater. The adblock extension is one of the best, it automatically blocks almost every add for a website. The updater for it keeps it up to date every week so it blocks all the new ads they come up with.
bhj 24 Author Posted June 20, 2006 Forecastfox 0.9.2 Forecastfox Enhanced 0.9.0.2.1 ColorZilla 0.8.2 Adblock 0.5.3.042
Ankhanu 1 Posted June 20, 2006 Currently I'm only using Adblock and its auto updater and Foxgame. I had been using the Merriam-Webster dictionay plugin but haven't reinstalled it after formatting and reinstalling windows a few months back.
Schot 431 Posted June 21, 2006 Great thread bhj! Some handy info in here. I'm using: Adblock Fasterfox Dom Inspector (can't seem to find the download for this... it's a wed designer tool) Web Developer Smiley Xtra HTML Validator
bhj 24 Author Posted June 22, 2006 I just noticed somthing dont you guys use foxgame ? btw nice list you got there Yarasa
Schot 431 Posted June 22, 2006 OMG Yarasa. Does it take very long for firefox to start up with all those extensions?! I find the more extensions I add the longer it takes to start firefox after turning on my pc.
Yarasa 0 Posted June 22, 2006 it takes a bit but not really a problem, after it is opened it rocks any way I really use those extensions a lot so I don't think I will give it up from any one of them.
Guest gogoblender Posted June 22, 2006 I just noticed somthing dont you guys use foxgame ?btw nice list you got there Yarasa absolutely ...never leave home without it gogo
Ankhanu 1 Posted June 23, 2006 it takes a bit but not really a problem, after it is opened it rocks any way I find that if I don't close out Firefox at least once in the day it sends my pagefiling through the roof, occasionally to the point of running out of virtual memory. That's a downside of the program. Outside of that, yeah, it rocks.
Guest gogoblender Posted June 26, 2006 intersting.... what does pagefile mean? Is it something I should be aware of regarding firefox? gogoo
Firefly 1 Posted June 26, 2006 Page file is storage on the harddrive that windows uses a bit like the RAM in your computer, only is is much slower (often refered to as Virtual Memory) It can get filled up with stuff over time, and/or get fragmented as well. Its a windows thing not a Ff thing. Lots of proggys use the page file, espicailly if you dont have much real memory
bhj 24 Author Posted July 5, 2006 anyone here tryed one of the irc addons ? ChatZilla 0.9.74 ? or one the others ?
Guest gogoblender Posted July 5, 2006 heh, ooohhhhhhh I'm stayin as far away from anyting to do with irc fer the next few weeks now lol, irc for me is major time sink *hides from the irc download* gogo
toret 0 Posted July 12, 2006 Hey Ankhanu, where did you find the "Merriam-Webster dictionay" plugin? Could be useful to me as english is not my first language.
Schot 431 Posted July 12, 2006 Here you go Toret: Firefox, Merriam-Webster Dictionary Just go to that link and click on the green box.
toret 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Thanx Schot This is a great thread btw. I've been having the same problems with Opera as Bhj, so I've switched to Firefox. It takes a bit of getting used to though after using Opera for a few years. I'm using these plugins: Paste and Go - Must have for people used to Opera Mouse gestures - Must have for people used to Opera Fasterfox Adblock DictionarySearch 1.5 Foxytunes - Control any mediaplayer from Firefox MouseZoom - Zoom in or out with your mouse and the Noia 2.0 theme. Haven't tried any other themes yet but I like this one. Cheers all /beer
bhj 24 Author Posted July 13, 2006 (edited) regarding the problems with opera they are all gone just DL and install the newest v of opera 9.0 when that is said iam using firefox more and more (its growing on me) not quite sure about it yet but I think I like it *maybe* /unsure btw where did I post that link ? hmmmm there it was /rofl Edited July 13, 2006 by bhj
toret 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Opera is great but Firefox is growing on me too /thumbsup This one is cool too: SmilieXtra Thanx again Schot Edit: Very funny bhj
Guest gogoblender Posted July 13, 2006 really guys? firefox is growing on you? I did a lot of comparison reading with mozilla v.s. firevfox. Apparently Opera is still the fastest browser on the planet. However, Mozilla does offer secruity and a bunch of neat addons. I was thinkin of maybe gettin opera to try...but bhj and toret if you guys are so into firefox now, maybe you can tell us why firefox is growin on ya? Thanks! gogo
