Neemis 6 Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) Hello. I'd like to ask if any of you who played this class have stumbled upon the annoying mechanic of Scything Sweep. What I'm trying to say is: almost every time I want to use this skill, my toon has to go around, run in circles before using SS. Is there a trick where you position yourself behind a rock/tree/wall or click without targeting monsters for your toon to stand still and use his skill? It is really annoying and kind of kills the fun out of using the skill. I'm thinking of moving to Demonic Blow (Area of Effect modded) just because of this. Popular Post Androdion 900 Posted January 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 21, 2021 Are you running with CM 1.60? That patch removed a lot if not most of the "waltzing around". If you are using it already try targeting the ground ahead of you (CTRL+CA) instead of targeting mobs. I can't recall if that actually works with this specific CA, but CTRL+mouse click is usually used to attack without moving, mostly for ranged attacks. Give it a try. 1 1
Neemis 6 Posted January 21, 2021 Author Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) I am using CM 1.60 and I still run around sometimes. I will try your suggestion and return with a reply. The fact that I am using Nether Allegiance with 3 skeletons kind of adds up to my frustration using SS because they scatter the mobs a little. I might re-spec with only 2 skeletons. EDIT: the CTRL+CA seems to work, but sometimes I waltz around, although not THAT much. Edited January 22, 2021 by Neemis
Popular Post RavenLight 52 Posted January 22, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2021 CTRL + CA works just fine, like others mentioned already but what seems to have a bigger impact (at least for my Shadow Warrior) is SHIFT + CA. When I use it like this my toon doesn't move at all and triggers the animation standing (even though enemies are far away). This being the only negative side, you do nothing if the enemies are not close to you since it will swirl the weapon into the air. PS: I am using both Community Patch 1.60 and EE Mod 3.0 as well. 1 1

The larger issue is the way targeting is coded, where the character doesn't recalculate often enough whether or not they're close enough to initiate the attack. It results in a not-so-comical chase. 2

It results in a not-so-comical chase. Or when a melee attack is initiated but during the animation the enemy runs away but it still hits xD 1
