idbeholdME 388
So, recently been playing with Mastered Damage Lore and I can't help but notice that different enemies suffer different durations for the secondary effects when applied by weapons. Normal enemies suffer many ticks of damage, usually not being able to live through it. Elites usually take only 3 or 4 ticks of damage and bosses take as little as a single damage tick, even with Damage Lore duration increase at 300%. I have some theories as to why that might be: 1) Willpower. Although it is usually described as working only against spells, the theory would hold because tougher enemies usually have much higher willpower than regular ones. Which would explain why they suffer vastly reduced duration compared to normal enemies. It also specifically says that it protects you against secondary damaging effects. The graph shown on the wiki would also follow the observed curve: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Willpower Bosses can have several thousand Willpower, which could explain the massive duration reduction. 2) Could Spell Intensity be used to increase the effectiveness of secondary damaging effects from weapons? Is it Willpower itself that reduces the duration of Secondary Effects or does it do that indirectly by increasing Spell Resistance? Anyone knows exactly how these interactions work? Also note, that Wounds are exempt from the above. Damage Lore does not work on them, so no chance to inflict/duration/damage increaes, but neither can they be resisted by the enemies (always stays active for 5 seconds no matter the enemy).
