Help Needed Please With The Sacred 2 Enhanced Edition Mod

SheHawk

Recommended Posts

So sorry for the delay of my next post. I have not been well of late. I will post that asap. Right now I need help please with a mod that does not seem to be working right, or I'm doing something wrong? I have a copy of the Mods file from the The GMSE Setup Folder into the "Games Folder" of my Steam Folder that has a folder for games. I used to use Gog Galaxy, but not any more. Long story that one. Anyway, I have done two screen captures that hopefully will help you to be able to help me. The mod that I am having a problem with, is the Sacred 2 Enhanced Folder and yes, I do have the most current version of the Community Patch and the dam mod isn't working.

Help 1

As you can see I have the Mods folder in my D Drive, because basically my C drive at the moment is in a mess and I need to get that sorted out, but I have more than enough room in my 1TB Hard Drive (D Drive) Even steam itself is also set to the D Drive. I have the whole Sarcred 2 Enhanced Folder inside the mods folder, but I have noticed other folders existing inside of this folder, some of which have zipped files in them.

Help 2

Please, please, don't tell me I have to put all of these seperate folders into the mods as well and also extract where the zipped folders are placed and add those also to the mods? I sure hope not, that would be far too  complicated for me. Please bear in mind that I do have a learning disability, so when explaining things to me, please do try and make it easy for me to be able to understand and follow properly. I have a similar problem for the Rotating Blades Of Light Mod, that folder also has other folders inside of it. Which I think I need to copy and put them into the mods folder, if I am not mistaken. Anyway, I can't seem to get that one working properly either, but right now I am more concered with the Sacred 2 Enhanced Mod working. Is it a complicated process? If yes, then why is that? And lastly, is there an easier way of doing it? If not, that's okay, but the lightsaber mod asside, which is the only one that does actually work. Oh and The Diablo 2 mod, that works okay too, but that's it, no other mod seems to work for me. The Mod Enabler seems pretty much useless to me, sorry to say. Can any one help me. PLEASE!

From what I see, the EE has a core module and then a lot of optional additional features.

Basically, you want the folders from the 2nd screenshot to be at the location in the first screenshot and then enable them separately in JSGME.

If you want only the core changes, only take and use the CORE. If you want any of the optional features, move and enable them in the JSGME, on top of the CORE package.

Thanks, I tried that and nothing is happening. It's probably me, I am doing something wrong, somewhere. I just can't figure out what. Ideally I could do with someone at my home and for them to show me how to do everything correctly. While I can follow written/typed instructions to some degree. I excell better however, at learning from being shown how to do something. I'm one of those people that learns very much from being shown how to do something, which comes from my observational skills, the more I observe to how something is done and I can see it actually happening, I learn quicker and better. I always have done so, learning that way. Thank you though so much for your help and I really do appreciate it. I guess that this perticular mod and the Rotating Blades Of Light Mod, are not for me and who knows, I might figure it out one day, as I am pretty good at solving things, not all things mind you. But that never stops me from wanting to be able to know how to do a thing, I aspire to learn as much as possible.

Sorry for the delay, been quite busy over the last week.

1) Download JSGME. Unzip the downloaded file anywhere you want and launch jsgme_setup.exe

step1.png.5c46518695a73e9304d4e8b4b5c0c53c.png

2) Choose the folder where you have Sacred 2 installed as the installation destination. I have mine at this path (screenshot), you need to click the browse button and find where the "Sacred 2 Gold" folder is on your PC:

step2.png.cb660958b6785600a24dc63a6081ee42.png

3) After the process finishes, these 2 new files should be present in the Sacred 2 folder:

step3.png.45ea7d4406649954f6376c4f2a807cf5.png

4) Launch the JSGME.exe. This window should pop up, just click OK. This will automatically create the MODS folder in your Sacred 2 install directory:

step4.png.4e0452bb8bd2c41f08586d93bc51e948.png

5) Once that is done, the JSGME window launches automatically. Close that for now:

sterp5.png.2e190ab18ec4757760d722579fed70a1.png

6) Now download the Sacred 2 Enhanced Edition mod. Once done, you should have a single ZIP file which contains the mod. You need to extract that ZIP file into a normal folder.

step6A.png.bd6f9aa9be493f1ab04f4c422a6c85fd.png

7) Open the extracted mod folder. That will contain 9 more folders, which are the actual mod files. Copy them all EXCEPT the "Docs" one, into the MODS folder which JSGME created step 4 (where your Sacred 2 is installed).

step6b.png.1d966fcbed3290695483eeb19e456ba1.png

8) Open the JSGME.exe again. You should now see the 8 folders you copied in the left column (Available Mods:). Now click on the CORE module so that it is highlighted and click the single right arrow, so that the CORE module moves to the "Activated Mods" column. This will enable the core features of the mod. Activating this one is MANDATORY to get the mod working.

9) If you want any of the additional modules/features, enable them one by one as you did the main CORE module. These are not mandatory, but you can use them if you want.

That should be it. Hopefully this is detailed enough :)

idbeholdME. I have been closely going over your screenshots. I shall include mine and hope that this time I have gotten this right before I start to add any mods. I hope that is okay with you. I want to make sure I am getting this right.

Forgot you were using Steam. Steam uses its own path for installed games. Not sure how/where you have Steam installed, but I use this path for Steam installed games:

location.png.5d8ac65b5ff851f03a3f2038b12946f7.png

You need to find the steamapps/common folder.

The "common" folder is where you will have the "Sacred 2 Gold" folder. THAT is where you have to install JSGME. The inside of the Sacred 2 Gold folder looks like this. It will look nearly identical for you with some minor differences as I am using the GOG install.

Thank you and you're awesome by the way. Here's what I hope is now the right screenshot, as I have followed yours. Don't worry if I have gotten it wrong again. Though I'm sure I have it right.

Yes, that should be correct. The MODS folder is where you put the folders from the extracted Enhanced Edition mod. Then open JSGME and enable the mod, along with any extra modules if you want. Just make sure you activate the CORE module first.

idbeholdMe, thank you once again and I am glad that I finally got it right this time, you helped lots and I cannot thank you enough for that. You will be happy to know that I even managed to get that: Rotating Blades Of Light Mod working, now that I have both the JSGME and it's mod folder in the right location, thanks to your most excellent good self and I sincerely mean that. I am going to try the Core module. Just one final thing. Is that the only one that I need in oder for me to see the alternate spells in the game? Just want to make sure and thank you again for all of your help.

Hi there, I have unfortunately ran into a problem with my computer, it kept crashing, so I got it fixed. The SSD C Drive had to be completely wiped/reformated. Anyway, I had to reset up steam to my D drive and install all of my games, they installed alright, apart from one, but the one game that did install properly, was the one game that was not launching properly on my PC, which was Sacred 2 Gold, but when I went to report the issue to steam, it just simply gave me a link to a forum only thing, which I did not want. So I switched back to my GOG account, managed to submit a support ticket to the GOG Team, they gave me what I needed to get my game working again, which that worked, but I just need to know if I have the first part of your instructions right, see image below. I tried the rotating blades of light mod, I always test that one out, before enabling any other mods, but the rotatating blads spell did not show up. Which tells me I must be doing something wrong somewhere. Please may I have your assistance again, please?

Hello.  See that folder titled MODS? The Rotating Blades of Light folder (and any other mods to be installed) needs to be placed in there.

Thank you Flix, I really appreciate that. I'll give that a try, though I am sure I have done this already and nothing happened. Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes on and again, thank you. Much appreciated.

Ok, if it still doesn't work, there is another possibility: maybe there's an extra folder.  If you look inside your MODS folder, then check inside the Rotating Blade of Light folder within, you should see folders called 'locale', 'pak', and 'scripts'.

If instead you see another folder called 'Rotating Blades of Light', then an extra folder got created when extracting the .zip file.  I've noticed this is a very common mistake when extracting zip files.

Thank you flix, what you gave me was a complete success. (Image Included) You are super ace, again, thank you.
